Chương 24: Psychological trauma
When Xuan Yu got up from the ground with his red swollen cheeks, he noticed Meng smiling at him which completely enraged him. He knew that he was no match for Yun Che but it was a completely different matter with the cultivator at the 6th stage of the Elementary Realm.
"You! I want you to accept my challenge for a spar! I am indeed much stronger but I am currently injured, if you dare to refuse even under these conditions, I guess that's all Iron Spear Clan has to offer!" Xuan Yu pointed at Meng and shouted which caused even the elder of his own sect frown since he didn't want to make unnecessary enemies with Iron Spear Clan just because of one worthless disciple. Still, Meng disrespected someone who is much stronger than him which gives Xuan Yu the right to teach him a lesson even if Meng has his clan behind him.
*sigh* " Fine" Meng released a tired sigh and slowly got up from his seat.
"Little Meng..."
"Brother Su." Both Tie Hangjun and his father looked worriedly at Meng but not because they were worried about his health, they were worried that he would reveal his strength which could cause some of the big sects to become warier of them. They would prefer Meng to wait until he is a bit stronger which would take only a few months considering his progress in cultivation and way of spear.
The clan master was slightly sad that Meng didn't learn any of the clan's profound techniques but after he saw him performing his own strange profound techniques, he refrained from offering Meng to teach him everything and he would let Meng decide if he wants/needs to learn it or not. Not to mention, that cross slash of profound energy he released during his spar against Tie Hangjun was on a completely different level.
"Please rest easy, brother Tie, clan master." 'This is a good chance to slowly increase people's awareness of the Iron Spear Clan's greatness so why not use it? I am not afraid of anyone in this hall, if I were to increase my weight even beyond what my body should be capable of withstanding while moving, I should be able to even defeat that palace chief who is at the middle stages of Earth Profound Realm. Profound Heart Sect is bound to become our enemies so why not give them a warm welcome first?' Meng said with a smile before he approached the center, making Yun Che feeling a bit awkward since his plans were slightly interrupted by Xuan Yu's outburst and now that 3 people were standing at the center, it was indeed a bit strange.
"Take out your weapon and prepare to suffer." Xuan Yu said with a smile.
"Hm? Nah, I am fine, I only bring out my partner when I intend to kill or to fight against someone who is worthy enough. But hey, at least you know that you won't die, aren't you happy?" Meng replied to him with a disinterested tone which made Xuan Yu tremble in rage.
"Brother Yun, please remain if you want to challenge anyone else, it will be over in a matter of seconds." Meng took off his mask and smiled at Yun with closed eyes with his hands behind his back. His body was slightly toned and he was standing still and tall like a sharp spear, not even a slightest of worry could have been seen in his red eyes as he looked at Xuan Yu with a polite smile.
"I will let you have one move without me responding to it since you are injured and it would be unfair of me. Please don't hurt yourself, you have been warned." Meng said to Xuan Yu with a polite smile on his face and holding his hands behind his back.
"You are right, it will be over in a matter of seconds but for you! Die!" Xuan Yu's fist flashed once again in purple energy, he was venting out all the anger from his previous defeat on Meng. He rushed at Meng and almost instantly appeared in front of me while punching out towards Meng's torso.
Meng increased the weight of his blood to almost his utmost maximum he could bear without putting his body under a strain. He was watching the fist slowly close in on his chest with almost closed eyes and his "polite" smile.
*whoosh* *CRACK* Upon the contact, Xuan Yu's energy completely dispersed into all directions while a sound of breaking bone loud and clearly resounded in the hall, making everyone watching this open their eyes wide.
"AAAGH!" Xuan Yu fell to his knees while holding his forearm with a pitiful scream.
*sigh* "I told you to be careful...look how you injured yourself." Before anyone could even absorb what just happened, Meng said with a guilty expression and a hint of regret in his tone. Meng crouched down and put his right hand gently on Xuan Yu's left shoulder. Xuan Yu looked up at him with a hint of fear in his eyes and when he noticed Meng's apologetic face he couldn't help but tremble.
"Here you go, brother Xuan, this pill will help you heal your broken bones in your arm within a week of time. I hope you won't hold this against me and we can still become good friends in the future." Meng said and put a crimson pill on Xuan Yu's left palm before patting him on his shoulder and leaving the center, going back to his seat. Even though his back was already facing Xuan Yu, he still nodded a few times fearfully.
Meng indeed gave him a pill that could heal him in such a short time but the trauma he caused him this way was far too great.
'What the hell was that?! Su Meng actually took that hit head-on with only cultivation of Elementary Realm? And not only he came from it unscathed, but his opponent's bones in his arm also broke? He even gave him a pill to heal that bastard...why?' Yun Che's mind was in disarray.
'Hmph, this princess already warned you not to treat him based on his cultivation base. Although this fellow might have given that guy a pill to heal his arm, he did it in a style that would cause him to have a long-term trauma, just look at that guy's eyes filled with fear and insecurity. He is smart...by giving him a pill, the Profound Heart Sect can't blame him for crippling their disciple...Haha, this fellow is even more entertaining than you, Yun Che.' Jasmine replied before laughing, entrained by watching the show in front of her.
When Meng arrived back to his clan, everyone was smiling at him, satisfied with how he solved the situation.
"Did that guy with a cultivation base of 6th stage of Elementary Realm just defeated Xuan Yu without making a single move? Even though he was injured, his battle prowess should have been enough to defeat even the 9th stage of Elementary Realm." Whispers spread around the hall and even the elders had no idea what was the cause of Xuan Yu's defeat.
On the New Moon Profound Palace's side...
"Whoa...Brother-in-law is really amazing but I had no idea even brother Su became this amazing...We have the same cultivation base yet when Xuan Yu attacked him, he just stood there like an immovable mountain and caused Xuan Yu to even hurt himself...There is such a disparity between us despite having the same cultivation base, *sigh*"
"He wasn't so strong while he was working for your family, junior brother Xia?" Lan Xueruo asked curiously.
"What? Of course not! To be honest, even his personality used to be polar opposite before the incident happened to his parents..." Yuanba replied with a sad tone.
"?! I see..." Lan Xueruo looked a bit surprised but the next moment she redirected her gaze at Meng sitting with his fellow clansmen, her gaze contained pity while she was observing Meng naturally talk with others with a bright smile on his face as if they all were big friends.
'It seems like the Iron Spear Clan's master treats him very well, almost as if he was his own son. He also seems to be good friends with the clan master's son...But where did the Iron Spear Clan find such a monster? Was he previously hiding his strength back in Floating Cloud City? No...junior brother Xia said that his personality completely changed upon an incident with his parents, could it be that his strong emotions caused him to grow so strong?' Lan Xueruo thought while looking at Meng. She was already staring at him for a half minute due to having her mind filled with numerous questions and her intrigued glances didn't go unnoticed by Meng.
Meng thought that whoever is looking at him will slowly lose interest like everyone else but one person kept staring at him so he looked towards the female disciple from New Moon Profound Palace and when she noticed him looking, he smiled brightly with closed eyes and waved at her to possibly make her embarrassed and stop her from staring at him any further.
However, the female disciple instead of getting embarrassed by getting found out, responded in kind while throwing him a bewitching smile.
'Women equals Trouble!' Although Meng continued his act, he inwardly clicked his tongue and cursed at seeing her bewitching smile.
