Chương 78: maze
Ling Han and the group soon arrived before large grass. Ling Han spread his spiritual sense out to cover the land around them.
"it will be best if you two are on guard and Yin Hong. what's that technique you use to transform into smoke?" Ling Han asked calmly
"I was born with the Grand Smoke physique. it has a life-saving technique that turns my body into smoke before rebuilding it at top health." Yin Hong said blushfully as she threw looks at Elise.
"I see... this fate bullshit is getting on my nerves. how will that technique become useful?" Ling Han said with a frown.
It just so happened the person who was ranked 69 was a beautiful woman. It just so happened that they entered the holy ground together. It just so happened she had a physique that might come helpful later on.
"what do you mean fate?" Elise asked with a frown. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at the stringings of karma that held them together.
She noticed the string which held her and Ling Han was the strongest, but Yin Hong's string of karma was only slightly weaker.
This meant that Yin Hong would play a massive role in Ling Han's life. She didn't have the Dao of time, which would allow her to see into the future and see what these events were.
"... let's go. Fate is something I'm too lazy to think about right now." Ling Han said lazily as he flew over the tall grass.
Just as Yin Hong and Elise were about to fall, they saw the tall grass grow towards Ling Han. Ling Han gathered lightning and transformed it into a sword of lightning.
He quickly swung out, send thousands of Qi blades flying forward. The grasses were not injured. Only slight marks were left behind, which healed almost instantly.
Ling Han, sensing danger, quickly turned and flew back towards Elise. After many close calls, he got out of the tall grasses, landing before Elise and the others
"ok... we are not flying over this thing." Ling Han said with a frown, with an explosion of smoke. a shadow clone appeared next to Ling Han, the shadow clone rushed off into the tall grasses.
"... it seems like we can go through the grasses. But it is a maze which changes. And the grasses are tough to cut through. no matter what, don't let go of my hand." Ling Han said calmly as he held his hand out.
Elise nodded as he grabbed Ling Han's arm before she grabbed Yin Hong. since she was fated for something, it would be best she followed.
Yin Hong's heart was moved to see Elise wanting her to take her hand. She hesitantly grabbed her hand she closed her eyes slightly. Just touching her hand bought forth a strange feeling of joy. Didn't this mean that Elise trusted her, forget Ling Han? This woman before her will for now on be her master.
Ling Han went on to create five clones. 4 would act as bodyguards, and the other one had a map that was marked by the system to show them the way to the treasure.
They found walking through these tall grasses made their sense of space or messy. A normal person wouldn't know left from right when walking through here. They would walk in circles until they soon end up dying
They walked for a week straight with their cultivation. They could fight for days. Walking was much easier, but seeing the same thing over and over for a week was nothing fun.
Soon they walked out of the tall grasses. Elise was the first to fall to her knees.
"can I burn this thing to the ground?" She said with a deep frown as she looked at the tall grasses
"don't do things you might end yo regretting... do it after we get the thing within that building." Ling Han said calmly as he pointed ahead of them.
Elise and Yin Hong looked ahead and saw a large mansion. It looked clean as new as if someone cleaned it every day.
Ling Han waved his hand. A drop size sword flew from Elise's necklace as it flew around the mansion. It soon flew into the mansion and mapped the rooms for Ling Han.
" Master, the system had found many treasures which would level it up. There is even a small guard which holds many herbs at sky immortal grade and above. There is even a heaven immortal grade herb." Berry said happily,
"let's pillage this mansion." Ling Han said with bright eyes, Elise's eyes brightened.
For Ling Han to be this happy, something amazing must be in there. Which meant the spirit farm would be leveled up. Plus, it will be her first time stealing.
All 3 of them rushed into the mansion. Ling Han had asked the system to find any danger. The only threat which was here would happen if he destroyed the mansion or damaged the guard.
"Elise, there is a library downstairs. Go and take all the books. There are many which hold the pay of gardening." Ling Han said calmly. Elise nodded as she went down downstairs, with Yin Hong following.
Ling Han went to the garden, as he did. he came across a book. Picking it up, he began reading it as he entered the guard.
This book talked about the reach someone did by using the Dao of light to grow herbs and many kinds of plants. Under didn't kind of light, even the normal light given by the sun. Herbs did grow different, and their effects could change.
Ling Han calmly went through the book as he made a clone to collect the herbs. This book went into theory as to how to maximize the growth of herbs to the peak
The clone went on to pick all of the herbs, but they all came to a stop when they saw a 9 leaf clover that had multiple lights shining on it.
Ling Han, as if sensing his clone shock, looked up, eyes widened upon seeing the 9 lead clover. It was a giant clover, which had 9 leaves.
The 9 leaf clover. Unlike other clovers, which bring good luck to those holding it, this clover can be turned into a pill and improve your luck for good.
Those who eat this clover would have their comprehension of the Dao of Karma, instantly reach the 6th level. It was something even heaven immortals would fight over, as the luck this 9 leaf clover brought was unimaginable.
"a heaven immortal grade herb." Ling Han said with bright eyes as the clones carefully went on to pick the herb. Ling Han went on to reach the last page, which talked about this 9 leaf clover.
The person who grew this herb ended up dying before seeing the outcome of a 3 leaf clover grown under many unique lights he could pick
Ling Han's heart shook slightly. Didn't this mean this 9 leaf clover could be better than other 9 leaf clover? There was no way this clover was worse than others since the system said it was the best thing in this guard.
Ling Han carefully went on to take the 9 leaf clover from his clone and sent it into the black tower. He went on to take the rest of the herbs into the back tower before leaving the guard.
"Black tower, what do you think?" Ling Han asked calmly
"it's a heaven immortal grade item... a step away from reaching celestial immortal." The black tower said calmly
Ling Han nodded. This will level the spirit farm once he leaves this place. He went to the library and found Elise was reading books while Yin Hong collected them.
"Elise, you will have all the time you want to read these books. right now, we are doing something." Ling Han said calmly, but he frowned when he saw the book she was ready.
"This is a book about the history of this place garden, and those who used to be in it. This place was made by a high celestial immortal. The celestial immortal knew his death was near, so he created this pocket dimension. There are a total of 12 places that hold his reaches of millions of years. This is one of those 12 places, ranked 11th." Elise said as he passed the book to Ling Han
"it's also the easiest trial. which is to walk through the maze and arrive at this mansion. The only danger to it was to get lost or fly above it. if you were to be caught by the grasses, they would have absorbed you dry." Elise said seriously
Ling Han frowned as he flipped through the book. His frown slowly grew. If that was the easiest trial. just how was the other one, and how hard was the trial ranked first?
"This should be fun. Some danger is just what I needed.
But I will not be using the system. We got 6 years in here. I don't believe there is a trial I can't pass without it. " Ling Han said with a smile.
"then let's go and take some stuff from other sect disciples. they must have some good treasures on them." Elise said with a smile
"haha, you are right. let's hurry up and leave." Ling Han said with a laugh as he threw all the books into the black tower.
After which, they left and made their way through the maze. There was a book which showed a way to leave through this place easily. They just followed the book and went towards the next place that was marked on the map.
He still remembered the map, which was marked by the tracking system even after a week
