Chương 75: Chapter: Damaged Resolve

Confused, lost, happy, angry, and sad; these were the emotions Zane felt as he looked into the eyes of his father— Mark Civil. Zane had to make sure he wasn't dreaming. He was almost sure his father had died. However, truth be told, Zane had no evidence that indicated his father was certainly dead.

Upon seeing his little brother Mason— who had been eaten by an Apocrypha, Zane had automatically concluded that his entire family was dead. But here he was, looking into the eyes of his father.

Zane squinted his eyes making use of his newfound ability. The ability to decipher humans from Apocrypha. However, no matter how hard he tried, nothing indicated that his father was an Apocrypha.

"Zane? What do you mean dad? Is he... Your father..?" Asked Layla quietly.

Zane didn't give an immediate response. Instead, he slowly approached his father— signaling everyone apart from Anastasia and Layla to give them some space and exit the room.
