Chương 15: Lonely boy

Marc was a little taken aback but he did not utter a word. He simply nodded his head and walked away, holding the bunch of tiny red fruits in his hand. Suddenly an overwhelming feeling of remorse and frustration engulfed in his mind and he broke down in the middle of the market.

He started sobbing loudly, while standing on the busy streets, catching more onlookers' attention.

"Why!? Why!! What have I done to deserve this!!???" The boy howled and cried, as he wiped away his tears. His legs shivered and he instantly sat down on his knees on the tiled road of the market. He kept howling and pleeding, but as usual nobody came to help him. They all looked at him from a distance as if he was some kind of a strange creature.

After a few more minutes, did Marc calm down and managed to stand on his feet. "I am sorry."

He apologised to the onlookers and walked away towards his house. Utterly shattered and tired, he entered a wide lonely road, which had not a single house in sight. This area had become more like a forbidden area of the Hellwood city, and nobody ever dared to enter this road specially after Marc's parents disappered suddenly.

His parent's other house was the only house situated at the starting of this road, where a couple had shifted a few months back and had been paying the rent to Marc. Before these tenants, two tenants had already left this house stating that the house is too far from the city but Marc knew it was all due to the city people, who were always wary p

of him. Thus, this house's rental income was the only source of income for him.

It was a long straight road leading to his house, while the tenant lived just at the beginning of the house. As soon as Marc crossed the large boundary wall of the gigantic house, he saw a pink colored envelope stuck on the metallic bars of the gate.

Marc frowned a bit and walked upto the envelope. He fetched it and opened it to find several currency notes, which looked like the pending rent of the house. There was a large letter inside the envelope ans Marc took it out to read it.

Mr. Marc,

Just today we came across a few people who told us several creepy things about you and your parents. No wonder you were giving away this huge mansion at such a cheap rent. You are trying to fraud people, by giving away your haunted house and you should know that it is moral and legal crime. No wonder, my wife had an abortion while living in this house. We have left the house and paid you the pending amount.

Goodbye

Mrs. and Mr. Simpsons.

"There goes my only source of income." Marc sighed placing the currency notes in his pocket. He looked at the gigantic house standing in the dark in front of him. This was the house, where his uncle once lived but belonged to Marc's father. But, after Marc's father went missing, his only relative too shifted from here, only to never return to Hellwood.

It was a sprawling mansion, which depicted how affluent Marc's father was. The fine wood and marbles used in the house, were all imported from other countries. But this house was nothing as compared to the house where Marc lived. The lands surrounding the houses, were also Marc's property, but nobody ever wanted to buy it and nobody ever dared to even enter these lands.
