Throughout the rest of the day, Mateo had been glued to Rosalie's side. He felt happy and was blindingly in love to notice that the woman beside him was miserable as she hid behind a fake front.
After the tour of the house, Mateo had to leave, he seemed to be in a hurry and he looked unhappy, but he trusted Rosalie enough to allow her to continue exploring.
Rosalie sighed in relief as she watched Mateo hurry away. She felt like she could breathe again and now she has business to fulfill. Rushing down the hall, Rosalie paid extreme attention to the structure of the house. Each opening and exit, the windows, cameras, items she could use as weapons, and most importantly, the people.
Rosalie realized that Mateo hadn't fully trusted her yet because the house was heavily surrounded. There were guards at every exit, paying close attention to the surroundings of the house. She sighed heavily, knowing that this would be harder than she thought.
She needed to think, she needed to come up with an indestructible plan. Accepting that it wasn't her time to try and break from it, Rosalie decided to go back to Mateo's room. When she had walked down the hall, she noticed that there were two guards on either end of the hallway, but now they were gone, leaving Rosalie to walk through the scary and intimidating hallway. On her way down, Rosalie intertwined her fingers to the front of her body, as her eyes either lowered or were looked around for possible threats.
As she walked closer to Mateo's room, a door suddenly opened before she was pulled in with a yelp of fear escaping from her lips.
"W-What the hell is wrong with you?" Rosalie exclaimed as she pushed Koa away from her as he held a blank expression on his face, "We have a problem," he said as Rosalie's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "What's the problem?" She asked as Koa's eyes darkened, "Genesis attacked my sister," he replied as Rosalie stared at him with widened eyes, "What do you mean he attacked her?" She asked, feeling very confused about Genesis's sudden violent behavior.
"Mateo sent Indie to spread the news of you being the Luna, I guess she wanted to spite the twins because she broke the news to Genesis before everyone else and he attacked her," Koa explained as Rosalie turned pale in the face before she scoffed, growing angry, "Well if you asked me then she deserves it, too bad he didn't kill her," she spat before turning around to leave but was stopped by Koa, who grabbed onto her arm.
"That's my sister you're talking about, remember who's trying to help you," he threatened, causing Rosalie's eyes to glow in anger, "Last time I checked, she didn't ask for your help, and keep your sister in line or else I'll finish what my mate left off," Kamari said as Koa quickly let go of Rosalie's arm before she left.
"What now?" Rosalie asked as she entered the room, leaning back against the door.
"We have to find a way to reassure the twins of what's happening, otherwise Mateo's killing would be the least of our worries."
…
Giovanni felt it, he felt it before he even got there to see it, as in Genesis, his rage, rage that nobody has ever seen before. His emotions were very strong and projected that if someone was standing a mile away from him, they would feel it, radiating against them like the heat from the sun.
Genesis's vicious roar scared all the animals in the forest and stunned anyone and everyone that lived nearby, including his family. Giovanni, who was consulting with Benjamin, heard his brother's roar, jumping to his feet with widened eyes. They were filled with fear and concern as he looked at Benjamin, who also was in shock.
The door to Benjamin's room burst open revealing Melody, who looked shaken up, "What was that?" She asked, rushing to Benjamin as Giovanni forcefully swallowed, "Genesis," he replied, causing Melody's eyes to widen, "Genesis did that?" She asked in disbelief before they all looked out the window to see folk of birds flying away in fear.
"Something's wrong."
…
Indie weakly dragged herself backward tears rolling down her face and whimpers escaping from her panting lips. Her hand was pressed against her right shoulder which was missing a chunk of flesh. Everything happened so fast that Indie couldn't process what had happened until she was slammed to the ground with pain shooting through her body and blood running down her arm and chest.
She felt nothing but pain and fear as she tried her best to get away from the beast that locked his eyes on her. Genesis was completely clouded with rage, it took over his senses completely and left one behind.
Hunger…
There was no humanity left in him, he was a complete animal, a predator, and in front of him was an injured prey. Genesis held no remorse for what he was about to do, no one was there to stop him. So as he stalked towards Indie, who sobbed as she continued moving backward, suddenly, out of nowhere, another wolf flew over Indie, tackling Genesis to the ground as Indie continued watching in fear.
"GENESIS!" Giovanni yelled as his brother continued to forcefully fight him off. There was no response, no calming down, just aggressive growls and anger. He wasn't there, Genesis wasn't in control anymore.
The fight between the two brothers got more and more aggressive to the point where it was now a fight to kill.
…
Benjamin was worried, things were getting out of hand and it was happening fast. His son had warned him about this, the first dream he had ever had of him, Javon warned his father to be aware of his time that was coming.
Benjamin didn't share this information with Melody, he didn't want to worry her, but as they waited in the living room for the twins' return, he couldn't help to feel the tension, something that never happens when they're together, he knew she was something against her heart. A burden.
"What is it, my love?" He asked as Melody sighs shakingly before turning to face him. Benjamin's eyes softened as he watched his wife's eyes well up with unshed tears. She looked tired and depressed, and he couldn't do anything about it.
"Is it true?" She whispered as Benjamin's face drained of color. He knew that she knew so it didn't make sense to deny it now, "Unfortunately," he replied, causing Melody's face to twist in a sobbing expression as tears began leaving her eyes rapidly. Her body shook as she grew weak. No sound left her lips as her throat closes in and she chokes.
Benjamin's heart shattered as he slowly wheeled to his wife before grabbing her as she fell, "I'm sorry," he whispered as she grabbed onto his shirt, crying out against his neck, "W-What about me, I c-can't, I can't live without you, please don't leave me, p-please," she cried as Benjamin held onto her, tightly as he began to gently rock them, kissing the top of her hair, he cried along with her.
"I'm sorry."
…
The door to Mateo's room opened revealing Mateo, as he stared at her blankly, "Is everything alright?" Rosalie asked as he continued to stare at her, "Which side are you really on?" He asked as Rosalie frowned in confusion, "What are you talking about?" She asked, standing up from the bed as Mateo stumped towards her before grabbing onto her neck.
"WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?" He yelled with glowing red eyes that made Rosalie angry, "I'm on no one's side," she replied as Mateo growled, "Then all of this, what was it, you faking?" He asked as another person entered the room, causing Rosalie to look over Mateo's shoulder to see Koa with a blank expression on his face, "Of course it wasn't, we made a deal, you leave my family alone, I'll be your Luna, you think I'm stupid enough to play with my families' lives," she spat as Mateo glared at her.
"Your family is on thin ice, especially your mate, he attacked my sister today," he said as Rosalie scoffed, "And whose fault was that?" She asked as Mateo shoved her away as she stumbled with a smirk on her face, "Maybe you should pay more attention to the people in your inner circle Mateo, an empire is built on unity and honesty," she taunt while looking at Koa, who glared at her.
"What are you talking about?" Mateo asked as he looked between the two before looking back at Rosalie, who shrugged, the smirk never leaving her face.
"I wonder how Indie felt when she told the man that she loves that his mate was his enemy's new Luna?" Rosalie asked the air as she looked up at the ceiling before softly giggling as she heard Mateo growl in anger.
"Did you know about this?" Mateo asked as he turned to Koa, who looked at his adoptive brother, "It's not my concern who my sister loves," he replied, earning a dark chuckle in return, "Maybe you should've been concerned," Mateo said, walking closer to his brother until their noses touched, "I killed one sister, I don't mind killing the other," he said before leaving the room, harshly bumping shoulders with Koa, who turned slightly pale before he turned to Rosalie, who smirked darkly.
"Why the hell would you do that?" He asked, stomping towards her before roughly grabbing her arm, "You think I'm stupid, you think I would trust you just because Aaliyah Gracia was your mother, news flash, just like you, I have and already accepted my real family, flaws or not, and now that I've seen your true colors," she spat, before smiling victoriously as her eyes darkened and her smile slowly disappearing.
"It's war."
