Chương 17: Kuthethy
"I FINALLY FOUND YOU, BASTARDS!!"
The group of masked people all looked at each other in confusion.
"I don't know these guys do you Ushi?" The man wearing the boar masked asked the one with a cow mask.
"Nope, what about you Karasu? You recognize them?" The cow masked man name Ushi shook his head as he asked his bird masked companion.
"No, but maybe they met another group and mistook us for them," Karasu answered.
"Ahhh that makes sense as anyone who sees us would totally be killed by us after we played fun games," The boar masked man said.
"That's true that it is the protocol to kill off anyone that sees us this early in the game but a rat can slip away every once in a while," Ushi said.
Both Kirito and Remmington watched as the crew of men talking to each other almost completely ignoring the two. As he watched the men ignore him, Rem started to tremble with anger.
"DON'T JUST IGNORE US YOU MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!" Rem screamed as he drew his greatsword from his back.
"Now now, there is no reason to be so loud. We are standing right here," Ushi stated.
"Wh-" Rem started before Kirito cut him off.
"Enough Remmington, "Kirito hissed drawing his own sword and dropping into a fighting stance. He was confident in his skill but after his fight with Z he knew others were better and up against this many people, he knew that it was nearly impossible for him to get away without either him or Rem dying, probably both.
"Can I kill them yet, I'm starting to get bored," The man in the boar mask asked.
"Before you start trying to kill us could you at least tell us why you are killing players," Kirito asked trying to stall so he could come up with a plan.
"Now why would we ever tell you such things?" Ushi asked
"Well I'm truly curious about it plus you said yourself said we have to die so consider it a final wish of mine," Kirito replied.
"True but n-," Ushi started to say when he was cut off.
"The boss says it to ensure only the strong survive or something but I do it because I truly killing people," Boar mask said while bouncing on the balls of his feet and giggling like a little kid.
"Baor you should not be telling things to strangers," Karasu said shaking his head at the words of his party mate.
"Why not, like he said they are going to die anyway so what's wrong with granting a final wish?" Baor asked seemingly genuinely confused.
"And what if they escape?" Ushi asked
"HAHAHAHAHA then we hunt them down till we kill them," Baor said like it was the most obvious thing in the world
While the three were arguing Kirito noticed that the horse mask-wearing man had yet to speak or even really be acknowledged yet. Before he could comment on it he noticed a shadow out of the comer of his eye, glancing over he noticed with a shock it was Z.
'What are they doing here?' Kirito thought to himself.
"OIIIIII DIDN'T I SAY NOT TO IGNORE US YOU TAXIDERMY LEFTOVERS!!! Remmington rushed at the men unable to hold himself back any longer.
Kirito cursed as he ran behind Rem hoping that Z wouldn't join the fight and cause them more problems than they already had.
"HAHA YES COME AT ME SO WE CAN PLAY!!! Baor laughed as he charged at the two of them.
Ushi looked at Karasu and said, "Watch the newbie and make sure he doesn't die now that he has completed his initiation."
Karasu nodded before looking at the horse mask wearer and motioned for them to take a step back.
Kirito rushed at Ushi and slashed at him only to have him dodge and try to pierce at him with his rapier to which Kirito deflected and jumped back before trying to swing at Ushi once more. This made Ushi laugh before he pivoted and swung his rapier like a bat and hit Kirito in the side of the head.

The strange attack and pain caused Kirito to stumble and pause which gave Ushi the opportunity to attack once more and stab at Kiritos heart. Kirito recovered in time and tried to dodge but was hit in the shoulder.

"Ah"
"Oh dear, it seems you aren't too good at dodging," Ushi said taunted.
"Shut up" KIrito growled.
The two continued to slash and stab at each other for a while before with Kirito taking more damage the longer they fought.
Kirito swung his blade once more only for Ushi to step to the side to dodge when his foot caught on a root and he tripped. Kirito wasted no time and stabbed Ushi through the stomach and into the ground trapping him there.

Kirito took another sword out of his inventory and was about to cut off Ushi's legs when a loud scream made him whip his head around. He froze when he saw Remmington missing both his arms.

(A/N: I am planning to do the Illfang fight within the next 10 chapters or so and I wanted to hear your opinions on if I should keep things like canon and have Kirito leave alone or have Kage leave with him. While having Kage go with Kirito won't change a lot in the overall story it will change a few interactions as well as change up some of the arcs I have planned for later on. Vote in the paragraph comments which you prefer.)
