Chương 13: Date
Zeus hovered above Alubarna and watched the fighting, he looked at the time and floated over to the clocktower. He wasn't playing games anymore, he wanted this to be over so he could ramp up his comeback plan. He hovered in front of the clocktower and ripped the whole clock off the building, the Baroques Works agents were scared silly.
Zeus smiled at them and said "Hey! Time to die!" he quickly vaporized all the agents inside and took the explosives out of the canon. He looked on the bomb and saw that there was 10 minutes left, he smiled leisurely and carried the bomb away towards the sea.
He floated over the sea nd saw that there was still 5 minutes left on the timer, he shrugged and threw the bomb into the sea before turning around to leave. The bomb fell into the water and sank to the bottom as Zeus was flying back he heard a loud boom from behind him. He grinned and picked up the pace.
Soon enough he was hovering above the city and watched as Crocodile fell from the sky into the middle of the battlefield. As if by magic, it started to rain as soon as Crocodile hit the ground. Zeus smiled slightly and hopped to the ground, he landed right next to Crocodile and touched his chest before Tashigi cuffed him and brought him away. Zeus looked out into the city and flashed away.
He stopped in front of Daz Bones and touched his chest before bringing him to the marine ship. He put Daz Bones in a cell right next to Crocodile and left to finish his work for the marines. He passed by the crew and the marines behind him turned aggressive, Zeus raised his hand and said "Tend to the wounded."
Some of the marines said "But Lieutenant.. They're pirates!" Zeus waved and said "And you'll be ashes if you keep speaking. Now tend to the wounded!" the marines gulped and dispersed, Zeus walked up to the crew and said "Tired?"
The crew nodded and Luffy was completely unconscious, Zeus chuckled and said "Birdman, you gonna take them to the palace or are you just going to keep staring at me?" Pell was shocked and said "You saw me?" Zeus didn't even look at him and replied "I see everything." Nami rolled her eyes and giggled while the rest of the crew chuckled weakly.
Zeus waved and scooped them up with his cloud before sending them all to the palace. He left them in front of the palace and walked away, now that they were safe from any random joe blow on the streets, he could get down to business.
He flashed across town and arrived at the docks, he nodded to the marines and walked into the brig, where the prisoners are held. He dragged a chair and sat down where Crocodile and Daz Bones could see him before taking out a cigarette and smoking, waiting for the two to wake up.
After a while
Crocodile and Daz Bones finally woke up. They looked around and saw that they were in chains before noticing Zeus sitting silently in front of them with his eyes closed. Crocodile said "What to you want." Zeus was jolted from his nap and looked around before remembering where he was, he coughed and said "Hello gentlemen! I'm here to talk! Maybe break you down a little." he chuckled near the end.
Crocodile and Daz Bones sneered and Crocodile said "Torture won't work on me." Zeus waved and said with disdain "Gross, you think I want to torture you? Nah, I want to blow your mind." Crocodile was confused and Zeus smiled "You'll understand in a bit." he turned to Daz Bones and said "You'll follow Crocky to the grave right?" Daz Bones nodded and even Crocodile was surprised and grinned slightly.
Zeus clapped his hands and said "Relax Croc, you're a man at the moment. Though where you're going that can change." Crocodile said with horror "You mean?!" Zeus nodded with a smile "Yup. He is! But you won't see him for a while. Don't worry everything is part of my plans. Anyway on to the next topic, where Sir Crocodile completely fucked up!" Crocodile frowned and said "What does that mean?! My plan was perfect, if Straw Hat didn't interfere-"
Zeus cut him off and said in exasperation "If Straw Hat didn't interfere you would have Pluton right?" Crocodile was stunned and said "You knew?!" Zeus nodded with a devilish smile hiding behind his mask, Crocodile felt a chill going down his spine, this guy was too terrifying, it's like he was dancing in the palm of his hand the entire time!
Zeus waved and said "In reality it wouldn't have mattered if Straw Hat interfered or not. You were destined to die as soon as your plan was made. Fortunately for you, Straw Hat interfered or else you and Alabasta would have been at the bottom of the sea in a matter of days."
Crocodile was alarmed and said "What?" Zeus nodded and said "Let me explain. You are familiar with Ohara, yes? Nico Robin's place of birth?" Crocodile rolled his eyes, naturally he was aware. Zeus too out a few cigarettes and offered Crocodile and Daz Bones one, Daz Bones refused however but Zeus didn't mind. He handed one to Crocodile and lit it for him before lighting one himself and exhaling a mouthful of smoke.
He formulated his words and finally spoke "You're a smart guy so I won't mix words with you. Ohara's destruction was completely because of the fact that they were able to read poneglyphs and uncover the mystery that was the Void century. The government hid something important and embarrassing from the people and naturally they don't was the scab removed. Thus the buster call was sent. Everyone along with the Island sank to the bottom of the sea, the only remaining survivor was Nico Robin herself."
Crocodile exhaled smoke and said "Then the devil story.." Zeus nodded "Naturally fabricated completely, you think a little girl can destroy 6 marine battleships with her devil fruit powers? It's impossible, not because she's weak but because she doesn't have the capacity to do that with her powers." He shook his head and continued "Moving on from this point, if the government doesn't want poneglyphs read because it would tarnish their reputation, what do you think would happen if you succeeded in taking Pluton for yourself?" he smiled and crossed his legs as he took a drag with playfulness filling his eyes.
Crocodile's eyes widened and he couldn't speak, Zeus smiled playfully and spoke again "Let me put it in perspective for you, the Buster call would be the least of your worries. I can guarantee that, at most 3 days later, Alabasta would be teeming with marines and government agents. Admirals, Vice-Admirals, Cipher Pols, everything would be centralized and you would be unable to fight back. Considering Straw Hat beat you, which means you don't even have Haki, you would be a frog in a pot of boiling water. You, all your agents, as well as the country of Alabasta, would be sinking to the bottom of the sea. The very next day an article about how an experiment gone wrong caused Alabasta to sink, killing all it's inhabitants, would be spread in the papers while the government laughs behind the scenes with Pluton in their hands."
Crocodile shook at Zeus' words, he was smart enough to understand all of this without Zeus' explanation. Daz Bones spoke at this moment "They can do that? From what I know the royal family of Alabasta is Nobility." Zeus was surprised and said "You even know this? I'm surprised! To answer your question, yes. In actuality, you know nothing about the nobles and their dynamics." Zeus shook his head and explained further "The World Nobles would jump at the chance to eradicate the Alabastian royal family. In their eyes Mariejois is a holy land, if you don't live there, you're an inferior being. Truly infuriating those nobles. The Alabastian king naturally saw through this point and forfeited his right to live in Mariejois, they settled on Alabasta ever since."
Seeing that Daz Bones still didn't get it, Zeus said "You're a bounty hunter. Do you mix well with bounty hunters from other organizations?" Daz Bones shook his head and Zeus nodded "It's roughly the same with the nobles."
Crocodile shook his head and said "I don't believe it." Zeus sighed and said "That's the truth of the matter, no matter how annoying you may be to the government, you are still an ant. But with the power of Pluton, you pose a threat to the World Government. They've been standing for 800 years, do you think they'll let you live just because you have a 'deal' with them? Please don't insult my and your intelligence. You know it's true. Inevitable destruction is the only end once your plan succeeds. But lets say you get Pluton and escape, first of all Alabasta is finished. Wars will stay in the country and all its residents will die without a doubt and your bounty will shoot through the roof. There will be no place for you to run, you will either hide for the rest of your life or get canon foddered to death."
Zeus shook his head again and added "Anyone you've had relationships with, will be used against you to trap you. You'll live in constant fear of being found, living a life on the run like this.. Is it really worth it? For what? To rule a kingdom? You're king, then what? You sit there for 60 years and die? The government will strangle your freedom completely, you will merely be a puppet King. How many tributes do you have to pay a month, who's targeting you, etc. One wrong move and they decide to replace you with some one more cooperative."
Zesu looked at Crocodile and said "Is it really worth the trouble?" Crocodile was silent, he never thought of the after, he just wanted what he wanted. He did things based on a whim, living freely was what he wanted, now it seemed like that wasn't going to work. He looked up at Zeus and his eyes fluctuated as he said "What do you want."
Zeus grinned and shook his finger as he said "Hold your horses, I'm an upright marine. I can't be dealing with pirates like you." Crocodile laughed and said "I see! Beat me with a stick then dangle a carrot in front of me." Zeus smiled and said "If you squeal, I'm fucked aren't I? I don't have the Marine Hero prestige to be running around in dark corners. There will be a time in the future but not now."
Crocodile sneered and said "What makes you think I'll work with you?" Zeus grinned and said "What are you talking about? I don't understand?" Crocodile leaned back and spit out his cigarette before chuckling "Very good." Zeus smiled and stood up before saying "I'll show you my sincerity and hopefully you'll think about what I said. I promise you won't lose out." he flashed a demonic grin "I can give you a life much better than the 'King' of Alabasta." before leaving the brig as Crocodile's laughter echoed behind him.
Zeus walked out of the brig and went to Smoker's office on the ship, he grinned to himself, it was time to cash in that favor.
In the brig
Crocodile's laughter turned to low chuckles and Daz Bones said "What do you think boss?" Crocodile's smile turned to a straight face as he said "It's not impossible. It depends what he's willing to give and how he tries to control me."
Daz Bones was confused and replied "Control you? Why would he do that? You would have a cooperative relationship, not a subordinate one. Naturally if the spilt is good enough there's nothing to worry about."
Crocodile cleared his throat and said "This kid is extremely smart and covers his ass after every decision he makes. He knows my ambitions and doesn't want to get burned, I don't blame him either. I would definitely burn him in a heart beat."
Daz bones was quiet before saying "You think he's telling the truth?"
Crocodile leaned back and said "Time will tell Daz but.." he formed a grin and continued "He definitely has my attention. I like dealing with smart people." Daz Bones grinned and kept silent.
In Smoker's office
Zeus was sitting in a chair and Smoker was on the snail with Hina. He said "When will you be here?" Hina said "Maybe 2-3 days, why?" Smoker looked at Zeus hatefully and took a deep breath before saying "Do you want to go for dinner when you get here?"
Hina was silent before saying "Like a... Date?" Smoker grit his teeth and said "Exactly." no sound came from the snail for a minute and Smoker and Zeus were confused, suddenly Hina's voice came over "Yes." and she hung up.
Smoker glared at Zeus and said "Are you happy now?!" Zeus nodded and said "Extremely happy! Now what we do is wait." Smoker grinded his teeth at Zeus and muttered "Bastard.." Zeus grinned and left the office.
3 days passed by
Zeus snuck into the Palace and went into the royal bath, everybody turned to him and were surprised and then... There was no then, they went back to normal. Zeus felt his eye twitch, not even a single reaction? Well he was going to shock them tomorrow anyway.
He walked into the bath and sat down, he let out a breath and sat comfortably against the edge. Nobody said anything, it was kind of unsettling, at least it was for Zeus, so he spoke "Who died?" the guys looked at him and the king said "Nobody." Zeus was stunned "Why isn't anyone speaking? Did I miss something?"
Chopper spoke up "They were talking about peeping on the girls bath before you walked in." Zeus was stunned and looked at the rest of them, they all turned away in embarrassment. Zeus laughed and patted King Cobra's shoulders as he said "Let's do it!"
The guys brightened up and started to get lively as they scrambled to the walls and climbed up. 7 heads popped up over the wall and looked down at the girls bath, Vivi was washing herself and looked up. She was stunned by the seven heads before realizing and screaming while covering herself up.
Nami looked up and saw the guys, she noticed Zeus was there too and she said "10,000 beli a piece! Happiness Punch!" and she flashed them, 5 out of the seven fell, leaving only Zeus and Luffy.
Luffy comically bled from his nose and gave Nami a thumbs up before jumping down and Zeus stared at her figure hungrily. Perfect white rabbits still in their growth period, little pink cherries at the tips, hourglass figure, tender white skin with long slim legs. He looked down and saw a completely hair free honey cave and almost pounced on her there an then.
She smiled and shook her rabbits coquettishly as she said "Like it?" Zeus reached under his mask and showed her the blood as he said "If you continue to tease me, i'll eat you up in front of the princess, do you believe it?" Nami stuck out her pink tongue and covered herself with the towel before sauntering away. Zeus growled and jumped back down, he looked at himself and touched his nose embarrassingly. He was pitching a huge tent right now.
He quickly got into the bath and calmed himself down, but his mind was filled with Nami's figure. He dived his face into the water and washed the blood off, before lying back on the edge. Zoro looked over and said "Good?" Zeus nodded "Good." Zoro smirked and closed his eyes.
Sanji was regretful and said "I didn't see enough! That lightning bastard watched more than I did!" Zeus chuckled and said "I'll feel it too, wanna make a bet?" Sanji scoffed and turned his head away, clearly not going to bet with him. Zeus chuckled and relaxed.
A while later
Zeus and Tashigi were sitting in Smoker's office with serious faces. Smoker looked dead serious and said "What do you think about this?" Tashigi hesitated and said "I'm not too sure Captain." Smoker turned to Zeus and Zeus waved "Don't worry, You'll be fine. As long as you don't get distracted, you will have it easy." suddenly the door opened.
The three turned back and Zeus turned green, Hina was standing in the door way with a pink dress on, it had a low V-cut, showing her cleavage and a slit in the side of the bottom of the dress, showing her long white legs along with black high heels. Zeus sucked in a cold breath of air and said "Nah, Smokey, you're completely fucked." Tashigi nodded and Smoker turned red as he said "Get out! Meeting adjourned!" Tashigi and Zeus left, but Zeus swept his eyes up and down Hina's figure before shaking his head, it was too much, Smoker was finished.
Hina raised a brow at Zeus' unscrupulous look and said "Like what you see?" Zeus was about to nod but bit his tongue and sneered "Wouldn't you like to know. Unfortunately, you're not this young master's meal." he chuckled and left with Tashigi, leaving Hina to grit her teeth and walk into Smoker's office.
A while later
Smoker and Hina sat in a restaurant, Smoker pulled Hina's chair out for her and pushed it in like a gentleman. Hina was surprised and said "Hina never thought you were so gentleman like Smoker-Kun"
Smoker sat down and grunted "Me neither." he lit a cigar and Hina's cigarette before looking at the menu and ordering. They sent in their orders and started talking about work, Smoker was listening to Hina speak when he saw a person behind her at a table and immediately got angry. Hina tiltled her head and Smoker sighed and said "I'm sorry, look behind you." Hina turned around and a vein popped on her head.
A few tables were together and 8 people were sitting at the table, they were all wearing fake glasses with noses and mustaches attached. Naturally they were Zeus, Tashigi, Luffy and his crew. Zeus was hiding his face behind a menu and whispered "I think they saw us." The thing was, Zeus was still wearing his mask and the fake glasses were sitting on top of it. He saw Hina and Smoker walking over and whispered "Act natural and follow my lead." the rest nodded silently.
Hina said with a 'smile' "How's your dinner sir?" Zeus looked up and said with a strange accent "Ollo! Is very good ja?" Hina wanted to smash Zeus' head into the table but held back and Smoker said angrily "What are you doing here!"
Zeus looked confused and said "I have no izea vhat jou are talking about ja? I am just here viz my family! Ve are tourists from far avay!" he stood up and showed his 'I <3 Alabasta' shirt as he introduced his 'family'. He pointed at Tashigi and said "Zis is my sistah Victoria, unst her usband Viktor" he pointed to Zoro and then moved on to Nami and said "Unst my vife Vivian" he pointed to Luffy and continued "Unst my brozer Viktoriano." he motioned to Sanji and Usopp and said "Zez are my vife's brozers Vinny unst Vino." he motioned to Chopper and continued "Unst finally our pet Billy."
He turned to Smoker and Hina and said "My name is Viktinirino unst ve are here to eat some food before ve go back to ze hozpital to visit my fazah Viktrinarianus." Zeus sighed and added "He iz very zick. Who vould hav zought zat my fazah vould fall ill?" the rest of the group nodded sadly. Zeus waved and sighed "Lez go everybozy ve need to save money for ze fazah's treatment ja?"
The rest of the group stood up and sighed sadly before walking towards the door of the restaurant sulkily. Zeus and Tashigi were about to leave the restaurant, when Hina and Smoker grabbed their collars, Zeus shouted "Run! Unst nevah forget about fazah! He must be treated!" the crew ran and Zeus was smashed into the ground, he looked up and screamed "Unst nevah forget about me!"
Smoker sneered "You're not getting away this time." Zeus smiled wryly and said "I paid a lot for this shirt, I'll have you know. Besides.." he zapped Hina and Smoker lightly before throwing Tashigi threw the air and running away saying "Enjoy your date! HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!"
Smoker and Hina exchanged glances and sighed before returning to the restaurant, Smoker had to admit, that kid did clear the awkward atmosphere. The rest of Smoker's night well really well, Zeus watched them secretly with Tashigi and whispered "I think they might kiss!" Tashigi gasped and said "No way!" Zeus shushed her and watched.
Hina and Smoker stopped at the docks and Hina brushed her hair behind her ear and said "Thank you Smoker-kun, Hina had a lot of fun tonight." Smoker nodded and replied "No problem." Hina puffed her cheeks and muttered "Wood Block..." before kissing his cheek and quickly running away, Smoker stood on spot, stunned, he came back to his senses and rubbed his cheek with a small smile.
Zeus laughed so hard he fell over, Smoker heard his laugh and 17 veins appeared on his forehead as he screamed "KURAMA! I'M GONNA KILL YOU!" Zeus laughed even harder and quickly ran away screaming "It was Tashigi's idea!" Smoker came to where they were hiding and only saw Tashigi trembling on the ground. He clicked his tongue in anger and ignored her as he chased after Zeus.
