The wound wasn't bleeding but it was dark and the skin around it was an angry shade of red. Lucas' eyebrows were pinched together because his shoulder stung when he moved it and he resisted the urge to roll it as he walked up to Imani who was removing the gauze swab from its packet.

She opened the cleanser and applied the solution on the gauze swab and his hands automatically went to her waist, his fingers grazing the hem of her shirt. He wanted it up. His other hand tugged on the waist of her shorts. He wanted them down. He wanted to feel her heart racing next to his and he wanted to know that it was racing because of him.

She looked up at him with a small smile on her face and he smiled back as he trailed his fingers down the side of her face. He wanted all of her. She dropped the cleanser back on the counter and placed the cover on top of it before standing on tiptoe to clean the wound.
