"Young master? Are you sure about this?"
The sweats started to flow from his forehead down to his cheeks while the nervousness occupied his system. Vlad gulped like there was a lump in his throat as soon as Liechael entered the mansion. He followed the young lad towards his room and waited for him to change into casual clothes.
"Young master?"
Their footsteps became faster the moment they reached the stairs down. The maids and butlers bowed their heads as they lined up side by side. The handsome young man who passed by stunned all of them wearing a black jacket and pants with white sneakers. With his hair down, showing the elegance on his face.
Vlad followed him with a worry in his heart. Why? Because they are now going to the Ross Company. After Liechael called him, he literally said that he'll going to meet his father right after school. He was so nervous that he could feel his heart going to burst out from his chest. He almost got scolded because he didn't really call the Chairman.
'Is the young master going to be okay?' Vlad worried inside his thoughts. He was clenching his fist so tight that he's holding his breath so much. They reached the parking lot and waited for a minute for the driver.
Liechael stood there beside his butler. He checked his wristwatch and then scanned Vlad from head to toe. He tilted his head and tried to meet his butler's eyes. "What's wrong?"
Vlad gulped. He averted his gaze and made a nervous smile. "Young master, are you really okay?"
Still dumbfounded, Liechael didn't take off his puzzle gaze away from the man. "Should I be not okay?" he asked, with his brows almost meeting between his nose.
'I'm really doomed!' Vlad exclaimed in his thoughts. He shouldn't be the one feeling nervous, but the chills are all flowing to him. Shouldn't Liechael be nervous? The last time he met his dad, everything didn't go well. This was so sudden that he almost didn't know what to reply until the car parked in front of them.
Vlad immediately opened the door and let his young master in. The company is quite far from the mansion, so Vlad took the chance to stop Liechael, who's cluelessly gazing outside the window. He already contacted Miss Lucielle. The woman also works at the Ross Company, so he had decided to at least send a signal to her by sending a text message.
"Is there anything wrong, Vlad?" Liechael couldn't take it anymore, so he asked the butler who's now stiffing beside him. Then he remembered that Vlad mentioned something about his relationship with his father, but before he could make another word, the man grasped his shoulders.
"Young master, let's not go today," Vlad protested. "The company is quite in a tight situation right now...and--" he averted his eyes. "T-The Chairman might hu---"
Liechael gave him a tap on the shoulders "It's okay, I can manage it...I just want to ask my father about something" He went back to being silent beside the car window.
Vlad stopped pursuing his young master to go back home. He eyed the driver from the rearview mirror, then both of them shrugged their shoulders. Even he, doesn't know why he's feeling very nervous. He's older than Liechael, but the youth is braver than him. Well, he can just always shield him from the Chairman like he always did when Liechael was young.
Madam Lucielle already texted him back that this was not the right time for the two to visit the company. She told Vlad that the Chairman was in a bad mood because two of his investors didn't attend the meeting today. If they are going to see the man right now, it might put Liechael into a tight situation.
"WE'RE HERE, YOUNG MASTER," the driver finally said.
Liechael lifted his chin and looked up at the tall building in front of him. He waited for Vlad to open the car door for him. He stepped out and tugged his hood up to his head. One reason why he wore that black jacket is because he didn't want to stand out that much. It's his parent's company after all.
They went inside. He followed his butler, who quickly went to the reception desk to ask if the Chairman was there. The lady smiled very big when she saw the handsome young master behind Vlad. She greeted him and told them to go straight to the top floor where the Chairman resides.
Liechael was the first one to take the lift up to the said floor, with his butler following him and pressing the button in the elevator. Vlad observed his young master's expression and movements, he's surprised. Liechael is still fine, not even showing that he's scared of his father.
Until they reached the front of the office, his young master didn't show any signs of backing down. He then knocked on the door and within a second, it opened.
A slim and tall lady, who seemed to be the secretary, greeted them and smiled. "Greetings, young master" she bowed her head and pointed her arms towards the office. "Please come in, the Chairman is there"
"T-Thank you." Liechael bowed his head and turned his heels forward.
The secretary then left them and closed the office door.
The atmosphere turned stiff and anxious. It made Liechael flinch as he felt the different aura surrounding them. He tried to keep his expressionless face as he walked towards the desk. The name imprinted on the tag got his attention.
'CHAIRMAN CHARLES ROSS'
Then the swivel chair turned around. Revealing a man in his middle-aged, probably between 40-45. He had these sharp phoenix blue eyes under an arched thick brow. Black with the shade of grey hair down to his forehead.
His thin lips made an indifferent smile, showing his perfect jawline. "What brought you here, Liechael?"
That deep and stern voice delivered chills to the young lad standing beside Vlad. He didn't call him 'son' or 'Chael'. A sign that they had a terrible relationship.
Liechael remained looking down until a shadow covered the light in front of him. He lifted his eyes once more and saw the tall man looking down at him. Broad shoulders and big build. His black suit was stretched enough to show how sturdy he was. Unlike him, his father had this grumpy expression and cold eyes.
"F-Father...I---"
Before Liechael could continue his words, a slap hit his face.
That was unexpected...
