Chương 2: Chapter Two
Before long Changpu had bathed, dressed and eaten breakfast and turned up at the village school.
Everything about Changpu was average - his grades, his physique, his looks, they all were all suitable for the lack of opportunity which he knew was his future at Nianzu.
His grandparents were stretched financially far enough with just clothing him adequately and feeding him plus covering the miscellaneous fee's that came from time to time with his nine years of schooling. Changpu had promised in his mind that he would work hard to repay them and improve their lives- either through slogging had in farm labor or by seeking employment at a nearby factory. Changpu knew the limits of his existence and that hard physical labor was his only option.
The first class for the day was Mathematics, Changpu struggled, he had never had any help understanding Maths, no tutors or classes after school, or even a studious attitude. Therefore he was frequently wrong when tackling maths concepts - you could think of him as the dregs - the last bit of unwanted matter at the bottom of a glass that you left on the table and walked away from. He was one of those students that filtered to the bottom.
Each school-day was a long ordeal for Changpu. His class had shrunk in size and many of his classmates had gone off to the Capital Jing to prepare for their final three years of schooling in the before university.
So Changpu the Chump was basically alone with the exception of a group of six female students and the notorious Ling twins and their few hangers on. In two days time was the final exam for the year and the class was busy revising for the exams.
Each of the students knew their weaknesses and were left alone to study in each class in preparation. But Changpu wasn't really phased - as he thought - I'm going to work the fields or the factory floor. A few more days and I'm free from this crap! So Changpu spent the day avoiding questions and staring mindlessly into textbooks - pretending he was revising for the exams.
Wei and Bo Ling were a rough pair of twins who had realized their advantage at a young age. When faced with anything they always stood two a generally overwhelming force for a small village. They would seek out weaker targets to humiliate or to prey on and now Changpu was one of the remaining few as they female students had grouped together forming six. Changpu had finished school and was headed towards the village store to buy a soft-drink when he saw Wei Ling standing by the door waiting. Wei blocked him as he went to enter ordering "Buy us two cokes, Chump!" Changpu ignored Wei - entered the store bought himself a drink, quickly drunk almost the whole bottle then left the store. As he emerged from the shop, Bo Ling stood blocking Changpu grabbed the soft-drink bottle out of his hand and threw it to the ground. Changpu went to run past Bo in the direction of his home but was tripped by Wei. Changpu fell to the ground and the twin brothers began repeatedly kicking him. Once they felt they had meted out adequate justice to Changpu for ignoring their bullying Bo spat on him saying "Just a stupid Chump!!" then they strode off together. "Arggh..!" growled Changpu, angered and in anguish rolling in the dirt.. Blood dripped down from his mouth onto his shirtfront.
Changpu headed back home via the village well where he took off his shirt standing just in his socks and underpants he doused himself with a pail of water screaming @$@# pricks!!
Changpu sat on a rock in the sun drying himself out swearing - as he did a group of his female classmates - Ying Yue, Feng Mian and Fei Hong appeared walking together - when they saw Changpu sitting dripping in his underpants on a rock by the well they burst into laughter and ran off having seen more then their eyes could handle, Ying Yue, alone looking back for a second peek, at the semi nude Changpu dripping in his underpants.
