Chương 226: The Wyvern

I could see how people could think of us as similar creatures. If it weren't for the shorter neck, and the lack of arms I'd think we were the same type of creature. The wyverns roar made all the birds that were still alive flee back through the rift. I estimated him to be on par with the water great mana wise, but since he was a beast that made me realize that his physical strength would be ridiculous. I was more worried about his rider.

"We're fucked," I could feel the blood drain out of my face.

"What?" the air great just happened to be close enough to hear me.

"A human using multiple elements," a heavily accented voice cut through all the chaos, and noise, "No."

He pulled the reins lightly. Bringing his mount to a stop as he hovered in the air. His heavy wingbeats hit us with massive amounts of air with each, and every wingbeat.

"Not human," his accent made his voice sound almost like a melody as he jumped down into the arena, "Something else entirely."

Using his wind to keep himself from falling hard. He shouted something at his mount in a melodic language, and his mount roared again before breathing fire into the stands. The elf in front of us just smiled lightly at that. A snarl formed on my face as I started growling at him. He would have been considered a heartthrob by any human woman that laid eyes on him.

Flawless lightly tanned skin. A lean athletic build. Just a smidge over six foot tall. Enough muscle to pull his entire look off. A smile made its way onto his face.

"So you're the beast pretending to be human," the elf talking just made me growl more.

"Fuck off," the wind great shot three wind blades at the elf.

The elf wrapped his mana around them, and dissolved them just like I'd done to that idiot Mathew.

"We're going to die," I snorted as my growl faded.

The air great nodded in agreement.

"I don't think we could even kill his pet if we wanted to," I gathered mana in my arms, and got ready to shoot lightning at him, "Let's land a few hits before he kills us."

I shot twin bolts of lightning at him. One from each arm. Both struck him. Or at least it looked like they both managed to strike him. Two wind blades shot out from where he was standing.

One for each of us. I used lightning movement to get out of the way. Wind great just focused all his mana on avoiding the hit. The water great was focused on keeping the wyverns flames from reaching any innocent people. She wouldn't be able to help us.

If he was anything like the demon I'd just fought than his power would be focused in mana. If he was physically weak than I would stand a chance if I got close enough. I rushed in after dodging the wind attack so I could get close enough to strike him. I got within arms length of him before he burst a massive amount of wind outward in every direction. The air stopped me from landing the right hook I'd aimed at his head, and I was flung away by the sheer force of the wind.

I slammed into the wall hard enough to leave cracks in the wall. Bones broke, and pain rushed through me like a torrent. I fell back down to the ground, and healed myself as fast as I could. I wasn't paying attention to which bones broke since they didn't stop me from moving I didn't care. I rushed in again.

Using my lightning movement skill to get there as fast as possible. I'd closed my eyes when I'd been slammed into the wall so I didn't see him pull out his whip. The wind great tried to give me an opening, but the whip split into two glowing green tendrils, and the greats attack was destroyed before it could hit the elf. I wasn't given an opening either. The other tendril of whip wrapped around my neck, and held me about five feet away from the elf's extended arm.

He blasted the wind great into a wall with a massive wave of air, and lifted us both about twenty feet off the ground with his air.

"Let's see what you really are," he smirked at me as he started pouring mana into his whip.

I could see the whip brightening as the mana traveled down it. Fear, anger, and rage shot through me in waves. When the mana hit me it started forcing it's way into me I felt the worst pain I'd felt in a long time. It wasn't enough to stop me from thinking. I grabbed at the whip only to find out it wasn't made out of physical material as my fingers passed through it.

The whip was made of pure mana. I'd never be able to touch it no matter what I did. My mana reserve was filling quickly, and I used it to heal myself quickly. My mana lashed out as more, and more mana was forced into me. I gave up on trying to remove the whip, and started trying to attack him with whatever attack I could land.

"You can convert mana to your own very quickly," the elf upped the amount of mana he was pouring into me, "Most would've gotten mana sickness by now."

My face didn't go pale because it wasn't my real face. Inside I was barely managing to keep the torrent of mana under control. My organs felt like they were being blown up, and then stitching themselves back together again. The system wouldn't shut up amount mana health exchange, and how my mana reserve was expanding. My eyes changed first as the system warned me about how my camouflage was about to fail.

"Fuck you," I spit at him.
