Did he want to kiss Steve in public? Absolutely not! He didn't do this with Ami, and when Heather manifested that they were a loving couple, he felt uncomfortable.

Did he want to walk Steve around town holding hands and resting his head on his shoulder? Definitely not! He preferred to be in some secluded place at the time and put his head not on Paxton's shoulder but between his legs…

But Martin certainly wanted to be able to do so. He wanted to be able to go out into the street and smile at his man lovingly without fear that people would look at him with dislike. He wanted to be able to allow himself to make small gestures of affection if he felt the urge to do so, instead of being pointed at as a freak of nature.

But wait a minute, couldn't he actually do this?
