I quickly put the book down from the table onto the seat, but I wasn't fast enough, Delta Felicity raised a perfectly shaped brow at the movement, but she only settled down in her seat and sighed happily, "Well, this is nice."
I nodded. Yes, it was. Especially since she wasn't going to probe further about the book. Normally, it would be high time for awkwardness to settle down upon us right about now, but Delta Felicity only laughed lightly, "I remember loving romance novels when I was young. Oh, how I loved them! But then I got mated and I stopped reading them."
"Because you realized that they were nothing like real life?" I ventured. I mean, that's what everyone told me about the lycan legends I read. It was just a story from the mountains…
"What? No!" Delta Felicity looked properly shocked, "Princess! It's all real. The reason why I stopped reading romance novels was because I was living it!"
Uh huh. I reverted back to nodding dumbly again. I think with Delta Felicity, this was the safest way to converse.
"They say we are what we read." Delta Felicity informed me.
No one said that! Right? I glanced over at my betas. Ben shrugged. Harvey looked most apologetic. Did they know? Or did they just want very much to not be dragged into the conversation? It's alright. I was the alpha. I could handle this.
"What does the Alpha Princess like to read?" Delta Felicity asked lightly.
"Lycan legends." I wanted to say, but stopped myself. It might be safer to not say anything.
Delta Felicity gave me a knowing smile, "10 boyfriends! I really should read more."
Maybe "safer" wasn't an option when in conversation with Delta Felicity.
"Congrats, on Boyfriend #10, by the way." Delta Felicity continued happily. She showed my her phone, "I'm following your exciting love life with bated breath. This one looks like quite the classic gentleman."
I shook my head, "That's… it's not like that."
But at this moment that I had to remember walking in the garden with Hayao in this timeline too, "It was a misunderstanding."
It wasn't my fault. Hayao, that Colored Mountain Prince, had a bad habit of drawing his own conclusions.
Delta Felicity smirked as she scrolled down her feed to show me a photo of Wolfgang, Fluffy, and Hayao walking the streets of Gate City together. Gareth and Anna were blurred out in the background. It was captioned, "Spotted along the trendy side of Gate City. Boyfriend#5, #9, and #10. Shopping a present for the Alpha Princess?"
Like WTH. They even made up a pretext for the guys to be in town. The comments focused on the new #10 jet black hair and how his serious and elegant nature was different from the other boyfriends so far. This led each commentor to feel obliged to share which boyfriends were their favorites.
Delta Felicity considered the photos, "I think #9 is your best catch."
Who? Wolfgang?
"But that could just be because of those curls." Delta Felicity confided, "I just love a full head of curls."
And then she scrolled through the timeline, "Actually, I prefer dark hair. Can you get one with dark curls? I would totally root for him."
Urm yeah. Because even though the channel was a Alpha Princess Fan Club, it was really a boyfriend fan club, and every boyfriend had their share of supporters.
I pointed to Ben, black hair and very short crop curls, "What about him?"
Ben was Boyfriend #3 right?
Delta Felicity laughed behind her hand, "Hoo hoo hoo… maybe if he grew his hair out, I will consider it."
Ben usually kept his hair very short. He had very little patience from troublesome things like conditioning his hair. Hahaha, I bet he was going to keep his hair REALLY short from now on. Hahahaha…
Ben looked at me like I had just thrown him under the bus, but then he smirked, "I think Sam just hooked up with someone you'd like."
"Oh? Boyfriend #11? Do tell!" Delta Felicity leaned forward.
"Not boyfriend." Ben leaned closer and lowered his voice, "Luna."
Delta Felicity gasped at all the appropriate volume of having been told a world turning secret.
"The new Lorent Alpha." Ben said.
Delta Felicity gasped again and whispered dramatically back, "I thought they were going to break off the engagement? When did they get back together?"
I was right here, you know.
Sorry, the chapters have been short... I think, normally, we would have covered this bus ride in 2 chapters... not however many this is taking. Haven't had time to write it all at one shot, so just writing bit by bit.
