Chương 8: New friend
MC .POV.
Mother brought us out again today, this time is different though, mother hasn't asked us to be quiet and she's letting us roam around freely, I think she wants us to learn our surroundings and the best hunting spots, although I doubt my siblings are learning much.
Mother lead us to the clearing where we found the rabbits and sat under a tree, my siblings took this as a chance to play, I took it as a chance to explore.
I wondered a rock in the middle of the field, there was a rabbit hole beside it, I poked my snout just in the entrance to see if I could smell anything, I smell rabbit there is definitely one in here but I smell blood too, did something else get to it?
'Oh well ill find another'
But before I could turn around I heard a rustling, whatever was in the rabbit hole was coming out, I could tell it wasn't big but it defiantly killed the rabbit that lived here, I need to be careful.
It poked its head out of the rabbit hole, facing away from me, it started looking around like I was looking for me but facing the wrong way.
"A snake?"
My voice caught its attention and it turned around to face me then it squinted its eyes.
"I am, what are you?"
"A fox"
The snake visibly started to panic at the word fox.
"Im sorry please don't eat me!"
I was taken aback by his frantic reasoning, I told him I wasn't going to eat him and I wasn't upset, he was a little surprised and sceptical then he slowly slithered up onto the rock, his eyes still squinted, then we started talking I was asking him about tips and tricks to finding food and such, he admitted to having horrible eye sight he can see things close to him just fine but past a certain point everything goes blurry, he's near sighted I said that I would help him if I could he thanked me for the sentiment, eventually he started boosting about the toughest things he's killed or fought with me listening to his story excitedly, he wasn't older than me I'd even say he was younger and he'd already had so many adventures.
"You know what? I really like you, wanna be friends?"
Friends? He wants to be friends? I sat with a dumbstruck face
"AH AH I'm sorry I got ahead of myself! Haha why would a fox be friends with a snake anyways!"
"NO NO I want to be friends!"
We went back and fourth for a little while and ended up agreeing to be friends.
'Wow my first friend in This world, even in my last life my only friend was John and now I'm friends with a snake'
We talked a little more before mother called me over, me and my new friend hurried over to my mother, I slowed down a little every now and then to let him catch up to me, by the time we got to her all of my siblings were already there.
"Whats that?"
"It looks weird"
"Is it a tree branch?"
All three of my sisters asked question upon question about my friend, then mother butted in.
"That's a snake, most of them are poisonous, so be careful no matter how small they are��
Then she looked back at me.
"So, why is there a snake following you my son?"
My sisters had already lost interest and were jumping on one another again, my brothers were more reasonable they both listened to mother well, they were both also waiting for my answer.
"He's my new friend"
My brothers seemed confused but mother just nodded.
"Alright but no 'friends' in the burrow"
YAY I'm aloud to have a snake friend, I jumped up in joy, before mother told us we were going Home, my family got home before me since my new friend doesn't have legs, I looked at him worried.
"Where are you gonna go for the night?"
He flashed a toothless smile.
"There's a nice big tree above your burrow, ill sleep there tonight, and in the morning we can go and have some fun"
I nodded then crawled into the burrow, which I must say is getting very cramped six almost fully grown foxes and one adult in a tiny little burrow is a bit of a stretch, it won't be long until we don't fit any more, I suppose we'll all have to go off and dig our own burrows, well I won't I'm going to go adventuring outside this dungeon and explore the forest of Kovlon maybe even the three kingdoms, and I highly doubt it but maybe even the wild lands.
With these ideas in my head I went to sleep with a stupid grin on my face.
