During the Kirin Lord Era:
While some details and dates might have been subject to either creative choice or human error, the novel "I Became a Sengoku Lord" is widely accepted by historians and scholars alike as a reliable record of the events during the Kirin Lord Era.
All 15 volumes of the novel are accepted as "truthful records" save for Volumes 6, 8, 9, 11 and 15. The reason for the slight exemption of these volumes was the lack of verifiable information about the exact details of the narrated story, as well as the possibility that Lord Iwasawa Hiroshi and the other people who had their point of views used for the publication might be biased or entirely fabricated for the sake of creative freedom. Still, most of the stated information are taken to be a "loose basis" for the stated events.
The novel series are held in high regard as a record of the tail-end of the Warring States Era and to this day, is studied widely alongside the "The Snow Shogun Tales" novel and manga series written by Shogun Amanogawa Sora around the same period, which is also recognized as a reliable historical record that is instead in the point of view of the Shogunate.
After the massive success of Lord Iwasawa Hiroshi's novel, many of his friends and allies would also write their memoirs and autobiographies, greatly boosting the literary field and literacy rate across the country. This rise in literary works would also affect the manga and animation industry that received great support from various prefectural governments as well as the Imperial government.
While many scholars argue that the correct end of the Kirin Lord era should be at the year 1623 when Lord Iwasawa Hiroshi died, much of the public consensus and even Lord Iwasawa himself stated that the Kirin Lord era ended at the same year when the warring states era ended which is 1551.
These records shall honor that request.
