And Erik was going to use his power to help Mikihiko.

"Woohoo! Haha!...This is dope!" (Leo)
Leo swung around the [Mini-Communicator] while on the private practice ground of the [First-High].
He was very fascinated by a peculiar device his friend, Tatsuya had handed to him to compete in the [Monolith Code].
"I am glad you like it." (Tatsuya)
Tatsuya was busy devising battle tactics with his teammates to perform in the upcoming event.
He was currently testing out the capabilities of his friends to see what were they capable of doing with their magic.
'Leo has an unusual affinity towards [Data-Fortification]...'
'With enough psion and skill...he could very well cut through any spell known to mankind.'
'Combining his skills with a long-ranged weapon is the correct decision.'
He quickly accessed the pros and cons of his friend's abilities before concluding that Leo is best for protecting the Monolith.
"Alright...now swing it towards Mikihiko." (Tatsuya)
Tatsuya asked Leo to attack Mikihiko with the [Mini-Communicator] while the latter defends using his [Ancient-Magic].
"Alright....you ready, Mikihiko?" (Leo)
Leo acknowledged his friend's words and turned to ask Mikihiko if he was ready.
The person in question tightened his grip on the [Proto-CAD] he had received from Erik.
"Yes, I am ready!" (Mikihiko)
Mikihiko took in a deep breath to calm himself before raising the CAD in front of his chest.
"Here I go!" (Leo)
"Haaaa!" (Leo)
Leo let out a battle cry as he poured his psion into the device.
*veu!*
The anti-gravity generator came to life upon coming in contact with Leo's psion.
The upper portion of the device suddenly separated from the main body and started levitating mid-air.
*whoosh!*
The upper portion was then swung towards Mikihiko at an alarming speed!
"[Divine Earth Magic:- Rashomon]" (Mikihiko)
A hexagonal pattern appeared underneath Mikihiko!
A good amount of psion rushed into the [Proto-CAD] as Mikihiko started casting his spell.
*burst!*
Blue flames were ignited over the hexagonal pattern; a scary-looking gate emerged from the ground.
"What the!?" (Leo)
The sudden appearance of the strange gate shocked Leo but the force behind his attack didn't seem to lessen a bit.
'Such speed!?' (Tatsuya)
Even Tatsuya was shocked after seeing Mikihiko cast the spell but unlike Leo, his shock was not due to the appearance of the strange gate.
But rather the speed at which the spell was executed left him baffled.
Especially since it was a known fact that [Ancient-Magic] was slow and took time to prepare.
So anyway, the [Mini-Communicator] cut through the air and impacted the strangely scare looking gate.
*bang!*
*ting!*
A loud ringing sound resounded throughout the area as the [Mini-Communicator] failed to even scratch the surface of the strange gate.
"What is going on!?" (Leo)
Leo was astonished by the durability of the strange gate!
He had put quite a lot of energy into that swing and it didn't even scratch Mikihiko's defense!
"This...seems to be a peak B-rank spell?" (Tatsuya)
Judging from the details of Mikihiko's magic...it was clear that this wasn't some third-rate spell but rather a fairly high-leveled spell.
But shouldn't that make it even harder to cast for an [Ancient Magician]!?
So how was Mikihiko able to deploy a spell of such caliber at such unbelievable speeds!?
It didn't make any sense!
Looking at the astonished expressions of his friends, Mikihiko couldn't help but let out a smile on his face.
"So how was it?" (Mikihiko)
"That was awesome my guy!" (Leo)
"I am impressed!" (Leo)
Leo was genuinely excited for his friend!
"But doesn't [Ancient Magic] usually take more time to execute?" (Leo)
....he was also a bit confused.
"Yes....it does." (Tatsuya)
Tatsuya pitched in the conversation and validated Leo's statements as he turned to look towards Mikihiko.
"So how were you able to deploy your spell with such speed?" (Tatsuya)
Tatsuya was curious to know how his teammate was able to speed up his spell-casting.
Mikihiko awkwardly rubbed the back of his head as he raised his [Proto-CAD] towards his friends.
"Senior Erik gifted me a [Proto-CAD] some time ago..." (Mikihiko)
"He has been helping me with some personal stuff and my magic." (Mikihiko)
Both Tatsuya and Leo were surprised by the implications of Mikihiko's words.
"Wait wait wait! So you are telling me that!..." (Leo)
"...Senior Erik has not only gifted you a [Dream-Tech]; which isn't even released yet." (Leo)
"AND he is also helping you with your magic!?" (Leo)
"Now that I think about it...what is he even helping you with? He is a [Modern-Magic] user, isn't he!?" (Leo)
Mikihiko shook his head to deny Leo's words as he explained the truth behind the misconception.
"That's a big misconception among the people..."
"Senior Erik is very skilled in using a certain type of [Ancient Magic]." (Mikihiko)
"The traditionalists have very good relations with him." (Mikihiko)
This news further surprised the duo as; Leo started asking questions to clear the confusion.
"When did this happen!?" (Leo)
"A few years back actually, it's just that the traditionalists like to keep things within themselves." (Mikihiko)
"Anyway, so yeah...this CAD allows me to boost my spell-casting speed by a large margin." (Mikihiko)
"It's not even the finalized version! That will be released after the competition." (Mikihiko)
"It is safe to use though?" (Tatsuya)
"I mean it isn't a complete CAD, is it?" (Tatsuya)
"I suggest not to use it in the upcoming event." (Tatsuya)
Tatsuya was both fascinated and worried by this news.
And his thoughts were well justified!
Since this wasn't a 100% complete CAD...it couldn't very well stop working in the middle of the event and that would be disastrous!
And so, he expressed his concern to Mikihiko who simply shrugged it off without a second thought.
"Oh!... you don't need to worry about that Shiba-san." (Mikihiko)
"While it isn't a complete version...it is still fully functional with custom calibration and it has also been approved by the committee." (Mikihiko)
"It is 100% safe to use it during the upcoming event." (Mikihiko)
"Are you sur—" (Tatsuya)
Tatsuya was still not convinced.
Unfortunately for him, he was interrupted before he could finish his sentence.
"Mikihiko!.....a minute please." (Erik)
A loud voice resounded throughout the arena as Erik signaled for Mikihiko to come with him.
Mizuki was also standing behind the former with a happy expression on her face.
Both of them had come to the practice ground to pick up Mikihiko and help him deal with his "problems".
She had finally achieved some control over her eyes after training under "Baldy" for a short period.
It was a refreshing experience for her to train under such a renounced person... if we ignore the sudden perversive episodes of the old ninja.
Mikihiko turned towards the source of the sound as his eyes lit up in anticipation.
"I am sorry guys but I need to go!..." (Mikihiko)
"I will be back in 10 minutes...please carry on until I return!" (Mikihiko)
"Hey, Mikihiko! Wait!" (Leo)
Leo tried to stop Mikihiko but the latter was gone!
Vanished with a flash only to prepare for his delayed return; with a bolt of lightning!
