When we find a tree with branches low enough for us to climb without raising suspicions, I make Julia go up and follow her closely. The leaves will help hide us from sight, and the hunters' precision won't be enough to hit us.
At the same time, we'll move closer to Fortress.
«Leo,» Julia murmurs, pulling the hem of my shirt. «Are you able to throw darts?»
«Yes, Julia. But I don't have any.»
«We can make them out of wood. Just be careful not to get hurt...» she whispers, sliding closer on the branch and reaching my side. She sits down and looks at me, waiting for a reaction.
«How does one make darts?» I inquire.
What is she planning? To throw pieces of wood at the hunters? We might as well get back down and throw rocks. That would do some damage, at least.
My girl reaches out for a smaller branch without leaves, and she breaks it with a loud crack. Loud for me that I'm close.
