Kitip strode forward, the other Atagat Tribe warriors tactfully gave way for him to pass through as he announced the arrival of their scouts.

At the shorelines of Saon, a huge tent was erected and numerous weapons were planted at the ground, they served as a form of barricade or perhaps so that warriors can easily take arms if an enemy approaches.

The fighting and wars during this age are pretty straight forward, there's not a lot of schemes...

If the two opposing forces decide to start another battle, they have to declare it first. Then they send waves of their warriors until the two side's final group of men face off.

But in this battle's case, however, it was sudden. The Atagat Tribe attacked the Matayon Tribe without warning. They only declared war after they have killed their way through.
