Mina did not insert herself into the conversation Sadie and the doctor were having out of respect for her sister's desire to be a self-sufficient parent. While hard, she managed to quietly listen, wanting Sadie to experience the fear of forgetting so that she could remember her mistake in the future.

With the doctor's clearance and the initial diagnosis confirmed, Mina was comfortable enough to leave the hospital. The blood work revealed that Lady was not poisoned, and although her fever was gone, she was not 'healed' and still needed post-monitoring to prevent further episodes. 

"Can we leave?" Troy asked, and the nurse handed him a discharge paper to sign.

"Yes sir, but you should dress her first." 

"No," Sadie said in shock. "We don't have a change of clothes for her. I should have sent someone to get something while we were waiting." Lady was wrapped in nothing but a bed sheet, and Sadie looked back at her daughter feeling like a complete failure.
