"This place has a nice vibe."
Akiol had to agree, as they traveled they occasionally stopped at a place that peaked their interest. This time they stopped at an Arcade that opened late last year.
The LED lights gave the place a neon look. The walls and carpet were dark, making the colors more vibrant. The place was somewhat loud, from the sounds of the various machines to the chatter of people.
Wrock came back from the counter with six cards in hand, "I got us play cards, there's a hundred on each. If you want to refill it let me know."
The group accepted the cards and split apart, spreading about to find anything that interested them.
Akiol found a whac-a-mole game and messed around on it for a bit. It was relatively easy for him to learn. The only issue was the string which limited his movements. It only took a single game for him to learn the game. He immediately tried again and beat his previous score. His score increased and he even beat the current top record. After the time ran out his card was given digital tickets.
Akiol knew from James' memories that the tickets would be used for rewards, though the last time James went to an arcade was when he was a child.
As he walked through the various games he saw a few that interested him, but he still didn't play. Amongst those were a few claw machines and luck based ones. While he wanted to test his luck, he didn't like when things were dependent on it. So he opted for a racing game.
He did not win. . .
Tilia and Yielya however were attempting to win a fat plushie from a claw machine. Tilia desired the plushie, yet try as they might they couldn't get it.
Kan'na was playing Air Hockey with Jarvis. The loud clack of plastic smacking into plastic could be heard. Currently Kan'na was winning.
Wrock was playing Dance Dance Revolution, it moved his legs well so he figured he'd play a few games as a warm up. Later Akiol found him and they competed for higher scores.
After hours of various games being played the group walked out of the Arcade tired. Tilia carried the plushie she desired. Yielya was munching on a skittles pack she got from a vending machine. Akiol carried a light up baton he exchanged his tickets for, he didn't find anything he liked so he picked this because it flowed. Wrock held a bag of various small trinkets and the candy the party obtained with the rest of their points. Kan'na got a rubix's cube. While Jarvis had nothing, he spent all the money on games that didn't provide tickets. He decided the enjoyment was worth it more however.
Everyone climbed into the SUV, Wrock was driving. Only he and Tilia knew how to anyway. As he turned on the vehicle he asked, "To the hotel right?"
The group agreed with an tired tone, their energy wasn't on the same level as they were used to. Wrock chuckled as he said, "Yeah, looks like we could use the rest."

After the dust settled Travis could be found with a 'really' look. He felt like Flinnder wasn't actually testing him, but rather seeing if he figured out the puzzle himself.
Flinnder dusted off his suit as he walked inside. Past the door was a large stone room. The walls continued the carvings, although it was less in amount. The floor held a basic pattern, but was divided equally. Flinnder inspected it and nodded, "Just as I thought, pressure plates."
He moved slightly before continuing, "My flight is also disabled, it looks like this Duke wants us to do this legit.
Travis had a straight face. He wondered how Flinnder was going to skip this puzzle.
Flinnder waved his hand and a black crooked square appeared, "Well let's just go to the other side!"
Travis maintained his face as he walked through the portal. As they appeared on the other side another stone door stood in there way. Flinnder walked up to this and, of course, punched it down, "Perhaps the right path would have opened this door."
Travis kept this thought to himself, 'Are you bad at puzzles?'
Flinnder walked through the now broken door and was greeted by a long hallway. With a sigh he beckoned Travis to go forward, "Something tells me the walls are going to close in. After all this seems to follow the basic procedures of a ruin."
Travis walked down the hallway but nothing happened. At the end he looked back at Flinnder with a questioning look. Flinnder coughed and explained, "Most likely because we didn't do the puzzle legit that the trap hasn't activated."
Travis looked away and closed his eyes, what was this??
There was no door this time, thankfully. The two walked into a new room, it was much larger than any other. A large doorway stood at the end. It was guarded by two large stone statues. Flinnder said, "The statues are going to fight us?"
Travis murmured, "Why is that a question. . / ?"
When they walked into the center of the room a voice spoke, "What is the password?"
Silence followed. . . The voice didn't falter and asked again, "What is the password?"
Flinnder looked at Travis, "Your guess is as good as mine."
Travis didn't know! So he pulled out an old fashioned answer, "Open says me!"
"Incorrect. Trespassing procedure initiated."
A large ghostly silhouette appeared, "Those who trespass shall die!"
Flinnder immediately pulled Travis back, "No good, this is the Duke's soul remains. While he carried only a portion of his power, it's still more than you can handle."
Boom-!
A split second after Flinnder said that the Duke stomped the position Travis originally stood. While the silhouette was only two feet taller than him, the stomp caused a shockwave and cracked the floor.
As Travis was hit by the shockwave his HP dropped by 5% and he slid backwards. He inwardly frowned, such damage from the shockwave of a basic stomp?!
Flinnder sighed, "I should have brought Dimitrin. Oh well, I guess I can go."
Flinnder flicked his wrists and a silver dagger appeared in each hand. His figure blurred and he reappeared behind the Duke. The daggers flashed and several cuts formed on the Duke's back.
With a roar of anger the Duke spun extremely quickly and kicked the side of Flinnder.
Flinnder blocked the blow and slid to the side. He winced, "This one hurts a bit."
He dashed forward and swung his daggers at extreme speeds. Travis could barely see the afterimage of them! The Duke roared again and threw a punch.
Flinnder didn't make an attempt to dodge, instead a crooked black square appeared in front of him. The Duke's fist went through it and reappeared next to him. His own fist then slammed into his cheek. The Duke stumbled from the blow, "You dare?!"
Travis' eyes widened. This was how Flinnder used his War Sight in battle! It in fact was most likely the most efficient way for Flinnder! It looked like Flinnder was a rogue class variant, since he wielded two daggers instead of one like the thieves. Rogues were known to have a damage output that rivaled that of DPS mages. Rogues and Mages were always considered the glass cannons of A World's Legacy.
Yet with his War Sight, Flinnder could avoid damage entirely! By redirecting his opponents own strikes back at them, he could focus solely on damage. With his Rogue class his damage wouldn't be small!
Flinnder's daggers proceeded to make several deep cuts into the Duke's ghostly body. The Duke was furious, unable to strike back at this trespasser made his blood boil, though he didn't have any.
The Duke roared and two red energy balls formed on each hand. He threw them at Flinnder, they rotated as they traveled through the air.
Flinnder retreated back and smirked, "That won't work either!"
A large black crooked square appeared, absorbing the energy balls. They then exited the portal behind the Duke, slamming into his back. The Duke roared with pain.
Flinnder dashed forward as he jumped spinning the knives in his palms he suddenly dashed forward with incredible speed.
Schling~
Two dark lines appeared at the neck of the Duke. They festered and the Duke's roar began to fade. Flinnder put away his daggers as he said, "Stay dead you overdue royal."
Flinnder massaged his injured arm as he ordered, "Over here Champion. That should be the last of it."
Travis walked over and asked dumbfounded, "That's it?"
"It's merely a stash, had this been the treasure house or tomb the security would have been substantial. Instead the Duke put a few puzzles only he knew the answers to, and a password for extra measure."
"So we can claim what remains?"
"Indeed we can! Now, let us see what this Duke has left. . ."
