Chương 4: Chapter-4 : Training again
It had now been two months since Ben had Joined the marines and was under training.
Garp was a slave driver, his way of training was inhumane but the results were very effective, after sparring with him or the beat down with Garp, it was clear that Ben was strong enough to learn haki.
For the first two weeks Garp taught him Armament and Observation haki. Along with brutal beat down with his Iron Fist, or What he liked to say, 'Fist of love', He drilled the basics of armament into him.
Armament Haki depended on spirit of a person, the bigger the spirit, more you could use it. He kept the fact that he was a giant a secret from marines for now.
After the first two weeks, he was dropped onto a desolate island by Garp, which was definitely fishy. But soon he realised that this was one of the crazy islands that existed in this world, just like Ruskaina (the place where luffy was trained by Rayleigh) this island was also full of dangerous animals all varying from high A-rank to low SS-rank.
There was the first time where Ben used Armament in Giant form, the consumption was astronomically higher as he had to cover more area on his body. From what he calculated, in his human form, he could use the haki with 400 times the efficiency. This means that he could use armament haki 400 times more than a normal human of his level, this was one of the greatest reasons of why he chose to be a Giant with size size fruit.
This contributed to his haki training as he could use is for a very longer time than normal. But now what he needed was quality of his spirit, the more pure it was, the more stronger his haki will become. In this one month and a half, his gains were equivalent to luffy's 2 year training on Ruskaina.
He had became much more proficient in using haki, one could say that he was now a master in both kinds of Haki. The island was taken by storm as he fought more and more animals.
Most of the animals had a special bloodline or technique that allowed them to survive in this harsh environment. Some animals had skins so hard that it was hard for even him to damage them even with his haki, while some just simply absorbed the attack.
The king of the island was a creature that had striking similarities to Godzilla, it even had it's atomic breath like attack. But it was way agile and faster than Godzilla. It's skin just absorbed his haki coated attacks. It was hard for him to defeat it but he finally succeeded when he made a breakthrough in his sword arts.
His observation haki had developed to a point where he could observe intentions, mood and emotions. He was very near to be able to see into future for a little bit. His passive range was now 800 metres while active range was about 10 Km.
He could use his Armament haki to coat his skin and muscles now. imbuing (not coating) armament into his muscles was hard but it was worth it, it directly improved his attributes to a monstrous degree. but he couldn't use it for long as it affected his bones and tendons as they were overly pressured by it. The obvious course now was to learn how to imbuing armament haki into his tendons and bones, once that was done, his strength would skyrocket.
Most of the time he stayed on the island was in his Big form. In this form, His height was 10 metres, which was taller than kaido by 2 metres. Only when he used sword was the time he became human sized.
Talking about size, his Devil fruit training was lagging a bit behind but he was still much more proficient in using it than before. He could decrease the size of things by 20 times and increase it 23 times. This was great for dealing with weaker foes because he used it to compress many big rocks in to small pellets of same weight as the rock, this created projectiles that he could shoot easily and do much damage from far and because his observation was so good, he could accurately rain them on his enemies.
Along with his sword training, he also started learning how to use staffs, this was because using a staff greatly complimented his Devil Fruit. unexpectedly increasing if decreasing its size during a battle gave him an excellent way to catch the enemies off guard.
Now that he had defeated the King of the Island, he could only wait for Garp to return and pick him back. He decided to wait for Garp a week more, after that he will leave the island on his own.
For the next week he was planning on awakening his conquers haki, he could feel that his spirit was becoming more and more restless as he trained it more and more, this he believed was because of his spirit willing to express itself. He didn't knew how, but he figured that it was somehow related to his emotions, so he decided to meditate and get control of his emotions.
