Chương 51: Uncover

I look at Troy with complete disbelief but when I look up to the others, I see that I'm not the only one. Was he suspecting me this whole time? Is that why he's been such a dick to me this whole time? I sigh and quickly grab my underwear, grateful that they're like regular male underwear but still disturbed.

My heart skips a beat when I think about him possibly finding my secret stash but it's quickly dismissed. He would have already said something if he found them... Troy glares at me and says "Admit it! You were the one peeping at all of us while we were taking a shower!"

I sigh and say "Just because I wear the same underwear, doesn't mean that it was me. This isn't an exclusive brand. Anyone can buy these! Even my Grandma!" Troy opens his mouth to argue but he struggles to find his point.

Thane grabs him by the front of his shirt and drags him all the way into Troy's room with Troy yelling and kicking the whole way. I look up to Titus to see if he was going to step in but he only seems to be watching.

When we all hear Troy screaming, we all run down the hall to see him holding his jaw while on the floor. Thane glares down at him as he throws several pictures down on top of him, demanding "What the hell is this!?"

We all look down at the pictures as Troy struggles to pick them up but when Conner leans down and picks one up, we all see that it's a picture of me when I was dressed as a girl! It's when I went undercover for the detectives...

We all slowly look up to him with a mixture of looks on our faces as he snatches the picture out of Conner's hand and tries to shove them all in his pockets. Thane's voice is cold and hard as he says "Let me guess, more evidence?"

Troy sweats buckets as he says "Yes, no! I mean... shit. Look, the underwear was evidence but the pictures are... shit. It's not what you're all thinking." Titus sighs behind us and mutters "Poor boy's been out here a little too long..." as he turns and walks away.

I gently push my way into the room, slowly coming to a stop in front of Troy and lifting my hand. He glares down at me through gritted teeth but his bright red face keeps him from looking intimidating.

He pulls the pictures out and slaps them into my hand before saying "Yeah, I took a few pictures. I was selling them as a joke but I never got to sell them all before we left. That's it!" I look down at the pictures before crumbling them and shaking my head.

I turn around and walk out of the room before heading straight to the bathroom. I hear more yelling break out in the room behind me but I ignore it. The monkey quickly catches up to me and jumps up to my shoulder right before I close the bathroom door.

I lock the door and walk over to the sink. I glance through all the pictures but they were all from the time I went undercover. Nothing else... I sigh in relief before lifting the pictures and calling forth fire. The pictures quickly go up in flames before I drop them into the sink.

I silently watch them burn as I try to calm my racing heart. Some of it was from fear, fear of being caught but the other part was from anger. I actually felt violated by the stupid idiot! I take a deep breath to calm down but when I see that the pictures were pretty much ash, I lean forward and turn the water on.

I watch as most of it goes down the drain but when I feel that chill again, I stiffen. The monkey on my shoulder quickly turns around and starts fussing. I reach up to gently pet the monkey as I say "Silly, it's just us in here. Did your reflection in the mirror scare you?"

The monkey still fusses as he starts bouncing on my shoulder. I reach up and grab him before cradling him close and reaching for the door. I open the door and walk straight to the hallway where I see the others.

My hands shake as I keep a straight face and pet the monkey. I walk past the others and head straight to Titus as I ask "Can I learn how to use the cameras?" Titus looks slightly surprised but he's quick to agree and start showing me the ropes.

I continue to pet the monkey to keep him calm as the others drag Troy out to the front of the base. I ignore them and continue to watch the screens. Someone or something was in there with me... but the fact that I couldn't see them made my heart grow cold with fear.

My hands still slightly shake as Titus yells "Don't kill him!" and gets up to follow the others out. I slowly move over to the empty seat and sit down. I look through the video feeds, especially the ones around me but I see nothing.

I quickly pull up the video feed of the hall from a few minutes ago and carefully watch everything. The monkey jumps back up to my shoulder and starts going through my hair as my eyes scan the screens for any clues.

When I see the image of me leaving the room with the pictures, I carefully zoom in and lean closer. There! Right before the door closes, it looks like the air moves! I rewind it and lean in closer before hitting play again.

It looks like air but... if you look close enough, it looks like the wall/door moves... No, like something is moving over them. The fact that it races to get into the bathroom before the door closes tells me two things, it was intentionally following me and it can't go through solid things.
