Claire eyed Wyatt lying on the ground grimly. "We need to take him to the hospital. Did you drive here?"

"Yeah. I'll assess for damage first," Alex replied reluctantly before letting go of her to conduct an inspection. "He has a bump on his head so he may have a neck injury as well. He isn't safe to move."

She cursed. Getting an ambulance involved was the last thing she needed right now. That would mean some sort of official report got filed and Alex would have a permanent record. He had been doing it in defense of another person so he probably wouldn't get arrested but there might be a civil suit involved where he would get fined.
