Name: Vin
Race: Grey Goblin
Level: 1
Skill(s): Appraisal
I finally have a chance to have a look at my stats and a few noticeable changes. First was my name appearing on my stats. If I changed my name now would it change in my stat? Honestly, I don't care. I have no interest in doing so anyways so that doesn't matter.
Next is my level. After killing the black wolf and half a white snake I finally leveled up to 1.
Thinking about it I wondered how much I would have gotten if I had hunted on my own How strong would I be by now? I began to drool a bit the more I thought about it. Wiping the drool, I feel even more certain of my choice now. All the juicy intoxicating energies will be mine alone, heheh.
Ah, there's a bulge in my rags.
For now, I'm going solo, hans? Whatever.
Strapping my spears by my side and a sudden extra long one at the front I set out to do some hunting and for some weird reason I'm really looking forward to it. "Vin is coming, my level-upers!" I said with more drool down my mouth as I wondered if I should have told slash face about mys leaving. Naah.
"Pft, King, hahah. Gets me every time."
With that he set out leaving behind the camp and slash face. Unbeknown to him, a pair of eyes receded into the darkness after watching Vin leave
......…..
Back at camp, a makeshift throne had been made which sat right in the middle of the camp. The Throne was made out of the bones of the black wolf and skin of the white snake.
Sitting on the make-shift throne in the middle was the self-appointed king of the grey goblins. With his scowl, he wore the head of a black wolf. Not the one Vin killed, no. He would sooner slice of his own head that wear that bastard's kill.
During their short time they had already gone hunting one time and he had again gotten the killing blow on another black wolf. In fact, he had mostly fought the beast on his own. Only when it got dire that he moved back and flooded the wolf with numbers.
Right now, on his throne with his usual scowl, king's his mind was racing with thoughts. He felt so disrespected what with the way that so-called Vin had acted earlier. Daring to give orders to carry the wolf meat, daring to give orders when he was around. Nobody gives him orders. He gives the orders.
'Still not back huh.' He noticed that bastard was not with them since the time the went out to hunt and he is yet to return. 'I only need an opportunity to kill that bastard. He is not like the others. I bet he is filled with the energies.' He thought to himself as his scowl changed to a savage grin.
He had already tested it out and confirmed. Killing his own kind definitely still gave him some of the energies. During their second hunt of the black wolf, one of the goblins mistakenly stepped behind his foot as he was about to charge at the black wolf. That slight delay allowed the wolf to take a large swipe at him which almost took his head off.
If not for quickly rolling around in a comical way that time he felt the wolf might have taken his head clean off with that attack. After dispatching the wolf, in a fit of rage he split that goblin in half with his axe and that's when it happened.
A small thread of white energies flew and entered into him. He barely felt any change considering the majority of them only receive minute amount of energies anyways but the point however was, he could definitely take it.
After splitting that goblin in half though, the majority present had looks of fear in their eyes. King immediately knew that he very much liked this feeling. That look of fear in their eyes was much more satisfying than the eyes of worship they had earlier on.
Yes, he very much preferred their fearful looks. Glaring at them, none of them dared to look him the eye. They all seemed to fall in place. Good.
Back to the present, King scanned the current base. It was somewhat empty. Only a handful of goblins were around. He had sent the majority out to hunt out by themselves. That error with the goblin had made him realize that they needed fighting experience.
Even if they were receiving small amounts of energies, they still needed to learn how to fight and it seems their style was fighting together. How they did that they would need to figure it out themselves. He did not really care as long as they did not get in his way again.
At that moment two goblins walked in imposingly with weapons in hand. One was slimmer than the average grey goblin and the other was much larger. Complete opposites.
When they got to the middle on the base, they knelt on one knee with their heads down. These two were part of the extreme few that also received sizable chunks unlike the other goblins that had practically all their white energies taken, he discovered they in particular retained a much larger amount.
Of course, it was unlike his and Vin's but still he decided to make them his personal guards and as such would hunt with just them to help boost their powers. Earlier had given them the task of finding Vin and they had returned with their reports.
"Have you found him?" King stared intently at his two new guards.
"Yes my king. I saw him leave, saying something about never returning. I saw him with my own eyes." The slim one replied looking up at his 'King'.
King smiled wide. This was the opportunity he was waiting for. The 'reason' he was waiting for. His smiled turned into a full-blown maniacal laugh, scaring the remaining weaker goblins around.
"Good, from now on that bastard is a traitor to us. He is no longer one of us." King declared to the rest of the goblins as he stood from his make-shift throne. "As for the two of you…" He turned to his two new guards "…you have done well. I as your king shall name you. You…" He said pointing to the slim one. "You shall from henceforth be called 'Dark-eyes.' You shall not only be my right hand; you shall be my eyes in the dark. Yes, Quite the fitting name."
The newly named dark-eyes twitched his eye a bit as a vein popped from the side of his head however since his head was down, he was able to hide it. "This D-Dark-eyes thanks the king." He stuttered as he lowered his head even more.
King nodded. This subordinate of his was very subservient which made him quite please.
"And for you…" pointing to his other guard "…you shall be from now onwards, 'Brute'."
"BRUUUTE!" Brute sprang up and yelled out while flexing his muscles very much pleased with his new name. He was happy to be given a name and for his king to bestow one upon him, and such a mighty name it was.
King puffed out his chest seeing the reaction of his second guard. It inflated his ego very much. "Good, your loyalties will never be unrewarded. With me as your king you will stand at the very top!" King declared.
"What is it Dark-eyes?" He frowned when he saw the look of this promoted subordinate of his.
"It is just, I don't know if I should say my king, I…"
"Say, what is it?!" He cut him off quite displeased.
"The thing is, my king, I heard the traitor talk about returning to take your head when he returns." Dark-eyes lowered his head as his voice got lower towards the end. At the end of his statement, he was almost whispering however his words were heard loud and clear.
King's face was uglier to behold. He had veins popping out his entire face and neck making him look even more vicious. His eyes red with rage.
He walked to his throne and picked up his axe which rest by his throne. He walked past his new guards but not before locking eyes with them for all but a brief moment. They both immediately followed without question.
No words were needed and right now, King was beyond mad.
