Ark pulled himself onto the boat as the Seaking watched from a distance. It kept a moderate amount of space between itself and the boat, just enough to attack with a fairly swift escape route.
"Here's our mark. Let's get it done quick Jenny"
With those words, Ark pointed at the Seaking and sylph nodded before glaring at it. The Seakings attention shifted from Ark onto the small Pokemon that was radiating an unusual amount of blood for such a small frame. It's eyes were bloodshot and it's body was slightly shaking as Sylph held her stare on the overgrown goldfish.
"Sylph, show it your 'Confusion'"
Without a second of hesitation, Sylph lifted her arms as her eyes turned a pale purple, creating a very ominous aura to burst forth. Unlike before, the aura was much stronger and seemed to create an invisible pressure on the Seaking, it tried to move but found it's body was moving very sluggishly.
The body of the Seaking gradually glowed a light purple before it's body was slowly lifted up into the air. It's eyes darted about in all directions, desperately searching for a way to escape the clutches of Sylph, alas it did not have the opportunity. As quickly as it was lifted up, it's body was slammed down onto the surface of the water at a speed that baffled Ark.
Even water was as dangerous as concrete if enough the object had enough speed to it. Surprisingly, it seemed that Sylph could alter the speed of her 'Confusion' to such extreme heights.
Looking down at his partner, he noticed the strain building on her face. It was obvious that she could not pull of such a violent move more than twice at most.
As the Seaking made contact with the surface, a loud crash was heard as the water sprayed upwards in a violent wave.
"Is it already over?"
Jenny watched on in shock. She did not realise that such a powerful attack was possible from a Pokemon that for all intents and purposes was nothing but a spoiled child a few days ago.
"Really... You had to trip a flag..."
Shaking his head in disbelief, Arks eyes were attracted to the large shadow that burst forth from the water once again. It charged at the boat with a reckless abandon. Ark squinted his eyes as he made a quick decision he hoped would be right.
"Jenny hold onto the boat. Sylph use 'Confusion' on the boat and launch it sideways. Just enough to avoid the charge for now"
Sylph nodded as a pale purple glow radiated from the boat. Unlike the Seaking, it did not take too much energy moving the boat as it was both lighter and did not resist Sylphs control.
The boat shot to the left as the Seaking grazed the edge of the boat. Ark held tightly onto the boat and Sylph as Jenny used all of her strength to stop herself from falling overboard. The boat rocked as the residual waves crashed against the boat. The trio held tighter as Ark watched the the Seaking slow down and gradually turn around. It became increasingly evident that if they did not get this over with soon, they will be laid at the bottom of the lake in no time.
"Jenny. I don't think this is normal"
"You're only picking that up now?"
Jenny sent an annoyed gaze at Ark who pointed out the obvious. Shaking his head in response, he carried on.
"No, I mean this guys behaviour is something artificial. It seems to be in a state of rage even worse than a Gyarados' temper. Luckily for us, it's a Seaking and not a Gyarados though"
Mulling over Arks words, Jenny watched the Seaking as he reorientated itself. It's movements displayed the majesty of a water Pokemon, however it's attacks seemed to be purely destructive, without using any of its natural abilities. For example, the Seaking had not even once tried to attack them from underwater.
"You might be right. It seems to be too simple-minded. However, we need to stop this thing before we start debating its behaviour patterns. My Growlithe won't be any use right now, but I will stay on standby should we need to use the emergency provisions"
Ark nodded as he looked at the smoke canisters and flash bangs in Jennys bag. They were no-where near as powerful as those used by corporations and military forces, however they were enough to make a quick getaway.
"Right, Sylph. We're going to try something a bit weird, but I know you can get it done. Wait until it begins it's charge and use 'Disarming Voice'"
Sylph looked at Ark with clear scepticism. The duo had not put much training into Sylphs current fairy move, much to Arks dismay. He planned to focus on a move type at a time, however he was now shown that such naive thinking could backfire. He did not have enough time to leisurely train one at a time, especially when his team gets larger.
"Just trust me. After that, wait for my further instructions and put your full trust in me. Jenny I need you to control the boat and make sure we have a safe place to get back to. This strategy is far from 100%"
As Ark finished, the Seaking charged once again. This time it's horn started to rapidly spin and a sound very similar to a drill radiated from it. Simultaneously, Ark and Jenny gulped as they witnessed the sheer tyrannical strength behind the move. Without missing a beat, Ark spoke.
"Go Sylph, use 'Disarming Voice'"
A loud charming cry sounded from Sylph. It was both melodic but still contained a large amount of power behind it. Receiving the attack head on, the Seaking staggered slightly, yet it's 'Horn Drill' still continued. Without missing a beat, Ark declared his next move to Sylph who was prepared to go.
"Sylph, use 'Teleport' on me and you! Take us slightly above the Seaking"
Jenny stared at Ark in disbelief as Sylph and him blurred from their spot. Predicting the Seakings straightforward path, Sylph teleported the two on top of it. It's back was large enough to hold the two, however its slimy scales was a large obstacle. Immediately grabbing onto the enlarged fin, Ark steadied himself as Sylph clung to his neck.
"Sylph, when I say, hit it with a full power 'Disarming Voice' and then telport us back to the boat"
Relaying his commands with a pace faster than ever before, Ark straightened his body and firmly planted his legs onto the Seakings scales.
Noticing the appearance of a few unwanted hitchhikers, the Seaking rocked back and forth while continuing its charge.
Ignoring the shaking, Ark gripped harder as he raised his right leg as high as he could. Pushing all of his strength into his hips, legs and feet, he drove into violently down onto the back of the Seakings head.
Shockwaves discharged from the violent stomp. The water around the Seaking was pushed away slightly before coming back and crashing into it.
"Now Sylph!"
Sylph unleashed a full powered 'Disarming Voice' directly onto the disorientated Seaking. The next second, the duo blurred out of existence, only to reappear next to Jenny on the boat.
The waves calmed down as the trio watched the situation from afar. After a minute or so, there was no movement from the Seaking. Taking that as a signal, Ark got Sylph to move the boat with 'Confusion' towards the Seaking.
"Jenny, you need to catch it. We don't know what will happen later on, so it will be for the best if it is either kept with someone trustworthy or sent to Professor Oak"
Stuck in a daze, Jenny removed an empty Pokeball from her pouch as they arrived next to the Seaking. Despite their intense battle, the Seaking looked to be in a healthy condition and seemed to have been knocked out from the shock of the dual impacts back to back.
"Shall we send it to the Professor once we've deemed it safe to be around?"
Jenny asked Arks opinion as she threw the Pokeball at the Seaking. Although she had more authority as an Officer, she held a lot of respect for Ark since he stepped up despite the danger. Not only that, Ark is a former assistant of the Professor, therefore he would know him better than anyone.
"I would do that, if I were you. This Seaking is a really rare variant, in both size and attitude. The Professor is one of the people most likely to be able to find out the reason behind its crazy behaviour"
While Ark did not like the idea of allowing the Professor to keep his Pokemon, he had no qualms with sending Pokemon that were not his. He held a high amount of trust in the Professor, it was just his personal preference that stopped him from sending his own.
*Ding*
The iconic sound of a successful capture resounded in the now serene lake. The Pokeball returned to Jennys hand as the trio collapsed in exhaustion onto the boat.
Ark stared down at the area he had surfaced, with only a single thought in his mind.
It's time to get his second Pokemon.
