Eventually finding a room in which we saw Mew trapped inside a test tube, all filled with some sort of pinkish fluid, the three of us did a bit of mess and tried to find a way to disable this machinery of theirs. They seem to be extracting the hidden power Mew bears for their ultimate schemes aside from their goal to increase the land.
Multiple large wires were tangled on the floor, connected to the ancient Mew, unconscious and asleep. The plethora of wires is somewhat like a jigsaw puzzle, a pain in the head. They're made out of some sort of hard metal that neither the claws of my Pokemon can break them down.
In front is a control panel with three buttons and three levers. The buttons and levers are distinguished by their colors, red, orange, yellow (buttons) and green, blue, purple (lever) According to the manual, if the correct combination has been given, the whole machine will be put to a halt, and Mew can finally be saved.
There are clues, according to the manual:
Red button (Right) Green lever (Right)
Orange button(Center) Blue Lever(Center)
Yellow button(Left) Purple Lever (Left)
-The first is parallel to the left of the fruit.
-The second is at the right of the fruit but parallel to it.
-The third is beside the first.
-The fourth is beside the third but parallel to it.
"Anyone good with riddles?" Zeal asked sarcastically.
"I'm somewhere between average. Let's see, the first is parallel to the left of the fruit. This is obviously referring to the center, the orange button. Now, on the left of the orange is the yellow, and parallel to the yellow is the violet." I hypothesized and flipped the violet lever. So far, the first one is correct.
"I get it now. Then that means the second one is the green lever." Logan, confidently flipped the green lever, another correct move.
"Let's see. I have no idea, hehe." Zeal admitted, scratching her hair with her cheeks blushing with embarrassment.
"The third one is the blue lever because it is beside the first. And the last is the yellow button because the left of the third is the violet one and the button parallel to it is the yellow. Makes sense." I humbly taught them. Both of my moves were correct; therefore the combination was completed and the whole machine stopped.
The liquid succumbing to Mew was finally drained as the hard glass opened, causing Mew to fall out of the test tube.
"Where did you get all this information about riddles and stuff?" Logan asked, quite impressed.
"Me? Hehe, I'm not good at riddles, it's just that this one is easy." I humbly explained.
Moving on, Mew woke up from its unconscious state. Me and Logan were about to compete for it again, preparing to send out our Pokemon when suddenly Axis, or familiarly known as Charlotte, interrupted the match. This made Mew a bit scared as it made the decision to turn invisible and flee in front of our eyes.
Seeing Axis again, I choked my saliva heavily. Her looks were of a confident woman, obviously having the guts to knock me out. Seeing her wear that lousy Magma Outfit rather than the Team Rocket attire somehow made her look weird or maybe I am not used to seeing her like that. Still, I did not know if I should fight her or not.
"We meet again Rocket buffoons. If you're looking for the Ruby in which we have stolen from you, blue-haired girl, well you're too late. Courtney and Tabitha had delivered them to Maxie in our headquarters. You'll never find its location, bwahaha! Pidgeot, take it to the skies!" Axis tossed out her bird Pokemon.
"Here we go again. Logan, Zeal, leave this to me." I sighed. I then continued, "Because of you, Mew was able to flee!"
"Who released it? Was it not you? Ha! Ha!"
"Well if you never came then I would've captured it. Now-" I didn't know what happened. In the middle of my conversation with Axis, I was suddenly surrounded by some hoop wherein I was sent inside to a place of pure blackness, warping and glitching as I reappear somewhere in a forest.
Above me, I thought it was snow when in fact it was ash. I immediately wore the mask to avoid the ash from entering my nostrils. It's quite difficult to breathe in these kinds of masks.
"What did you do?!" I scolded Zeal who appears to be beside her Medicham. Beside her and Medicham was Logan, coughing because of the ash. We were shrouded with trees, coated in brown due to the pigment from the falling ashes. Somewhere over the distance, there was light, probably coming from houses and buildings.
"I sent us somewhere near the town. I don't want you to come in conflict with that friend of yours." Zeal coughed, then explained afterward.
"Wait, how did you know she was my friend?"
"Isn't it obvious? I saw you going rogue twice, accessing the archives in the middle of the night. I was there all along, since I was awakened by your footsteps. I have to say, I am a light sleeper." Zeal admitted.
"You there, you're a trainer! Fallarbor Town is nearby, go there and tell nothing about what you've seen." Zeal bade to Logan who kept on coughing.
"Yeah, yeah, you're secret's safe with me. In the meantime, I'll be searching for Team Magma's headquarters in hopes of acquiring the Ruby. I guess this is where we part ways for now." and from there, Logan shook hands with me and Zeal as he followed the lights to the town's proper.
As for me and Zeal, we walked through the flakes of soil, blended with the ash back to Xeryll's helicopter. Without Zeal, who knew how I would turn out. With Courtney upholding the Ruby, Hoenn's fate is in grave danger. The problem is, Team Aqua might have found the Sapphire too which is a bit dangerous.
