Chương 36: Chapter 35
The rainy season lasted a month. During that time as the wind howled and the rain lashed at the windows, Remy and Ellie trained and grew closer together. Remy barely left Ellie's side except when desperate for supplies, and even then he was not gone long. He continuously thought about the scout and his guard was up. After the rains had died down the sun began glittering through the window. Ellie was on the floor panting heavily, the sweat dripping down her, her face red.
"Not bad you are really a lot better" Remy laughed. He too was sweating and panting. He reached out his hand and helped Ellie to her feet. The both looked at each other smiling.
"Let's stop here for today and you can go clean up, I'll make us something to eat."
"Ok I'll shower first then." Ellie said and turned to leave. Remy reached out and grabbed her shoulder, pulling her into his arms suddenly.
"What are you doing?" Ellie's face became red she had been having dreams of them kissing but didn't think he felt the same, now he was embracing her like this. Could it be? Was he going to kiss her and confess. She looked up at his face expectantly only to see him have a serious look as he stared with murderous intent out the window. Ellie's face fell. There must be trouble for him to look like that.
"Whatever you hear keep your eyes closed and hold onto me tightly. They must have been waiting for the rain to stop. I can sense them but I'm unsure as to how many there are." he whispered in her ear.
Ellie did as she was told. Remy lifted her slowly into his arms. She held on with all her strength and closed her eyes. Ellie heard glass shattering and wood breaking, she felt herself moving, there was growls and screeching noises. Remy breathing was rapid and shallow, he was grunting with effort as he moved. There were slashing noises and screaming and the sound of blood being splattered upon the floor and walls. The movement stopped. Ellie's knuckles were white from the effort of grabbing Remy tightly, she still dare not open her eyes. Remy breathing became calm and regular again. He gently kissed her forehead and Ellie opened her eyes to look into his he smiled at her.
"This is a good sign. It means they can no longer get to you in your dreams so they have to get you in person. And as long as I'm here that will never happen." Remy smiled at her reassuringly.
Ellie noticed the blood dripping from his face and reached her hand up to gently wipe it away. As she did so Remy grabbed her hand and gently kissed her finger tips. He looks at her thoughtfully and opened his mouth as if to say something but closed it and smiled instead. He placed Ellie down gently and she looked around. There were black dust and blood splatters everywhere. She quickly grabbed Remy and turned him round inspecting every inch of him, much to his amusement. She sighed with relief.
"It's a good thing your not hurt. "
"They couldn't hurt me. But it does look like I'll be needing the shower first. " he laughed.
His eyes swept the room and he fixed the door and windows using magic. Then brought Ellie to the bedroom.
"Stay close. Just in case."
Ellie nodded and waited patiently. When he came out Ellie went in. Ellie finished and came back to the room. A large owl was sitting on Remys shoulder and he had a sheet of paper in his hand. As ellieappriached he raised his head and smiled but with disappointment in his eyes.
"Asmodious has found the king. They will be here in three days...."
