When Yllana got back from replenishing their supplies, she found Lucien sitting patiently at the center table.
"You went out alone," his eyes looked at her coldly. There was a dangerous aura that surrounded him as if he was ready to kill. "It's dangerous for you to go out alone, idiot. You could have just waited for me."
Yllana was dumbfounded not knowing why would he say something like that. She walked straight up at him while holding a bag of food. "You were out on a mission, so it's definitely better for me to do something too so we could save time, idiot," she snapped back at him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sitting across the room, a man with long silver hair stared blankly at the girl with red hair and red eyes. His wounds are all healed and what's left is a remarkably handsome face. His blue eyes were as deep as the ocean's blue unlike the little girl beside him who have light blue eyes. He raised his hand intending to touch the face of the beauty present before him.
Slap!
"Aaah!"
Lucien glared at the white hand he just slapped away. "Don't be stupid."
Yllana gaped at Lucien.
"What? You want him to hold you?" Then Lucien walked away from her.
"I... I'm sorry. You're just not what I expected. I thought you'd be... younger?" Midel smiled at her while soothing his hand that Lucien slapped.
"Why? Do you know who I am?" Yllana thought his remark was too puzzling.
Midel glanced at Shiiba first. When the little blue girl went out of the room, Yllana felt nervous. Why does he have to let Shiiba get out of the room?
All of a sudden, Midel grabbed her hand and enveloped it between his own. She felt a tiny wave of life force slowly entering her palm. "Natural-born mage, low-common at the brink of breakthrough, tsk. Just cultivate a little and you'll break through. Mmm... you have a slightly... different soul, you actually have two souls but both incomplete, why is that so? It puzzles me. The two souls within you, if you can work them out, can help you advance faster than the others. But there's something more within you... "
"What is it?"
"Will you let me see within you? I promise I won't go any further if you feel uneasy."
"Alright."
Then slowly he raised his hand and let his life force enter Yllana's chest. A short prickling feeling like a needle going through her skin entered Yllana's heart. She gasped for a moment. Midel was about to withdraw his hand when Yllana spoke, "I-I'm ok."
"Why... knight? Mage... and something clouded... something is still hidden, I can't get through. I can see something else... something dark going after you in the future." Yllana held her breath. She could feel pain tearing at her insides, within her brain and more so in her chest. It felt like a sword was continuously piercing through her entire being. She closed her fists and gritted her teeth. She has to hold on!
"Your heart! It's the curse! He'll get you! Once you've grown stronger, he'll hunt you down! That's his curse on you during the war! He came down on your fate!" Midel was shaking, his face was pale as if in immense pain. The nerves on his forehead were bulging as he stared at Yllana. "He is waiting for you. Someone powerful, someone dark... " Then he slowly let his life force pull back little by little until no line of life force was lingering on Yllana.
The door burst open and two figures dashed forward, one small and one tall.
In a few large strides, Lucien was already at Yllana's side staring at her pale solemn face. "Hey,"
Yllana looked at him with something different in her eyes. "I have to be stronger. I need to be stronger than him, whoever he is."
"You dumbo! What did you do to Midel!" Shiiba glared at Yllana then back at Midel. She was holding his cold hands while Midel has already passed out. The reading took a toll on him and caused him to break down.
"He saw something else rather than just my constitution. What is he?" Yllana looked at the Shiiba while handing a few medicinal herbs to the blue girl.
"He is a dual class. The reason why the Young Master wanted him locked up." Shiiba explained plainly.
"Dual class. Seer and oracle." Lucien also started healing Yllana's weakened soul. He held her shoulder and let his own life force enter her to lessen her fatigue.
After a few minutes, she felt refreshed. She already went to her room to start cultivating. After a few minutes, a burst of white light sparked inside her room twice in succession.
Lucien who was watching her door squinted and turned around to go rest in his own room. Before he could go inside, a little voice stopped him from his tracks.
"She is special. She is the bearer of the greatest curse at this time. Whether she would fulfill it or not will depend on her ability. This will also decide her life and death. Just so you know." Shiiba then turned around and left the seething Lucien.
Yllana was about to open her door but she heard Shiiba speaking with someone outside her door. She tightly gripped the doorknob and let go. She is not in the mood now to ask what Shiiba just said. She felt her burden growing heavier and heavier. She walked around the room and looked outside the window. A cold light flashed in her eyes. With full resolution, she whispered, "Now that I am a high-common mage, I have better security to start going home and tell them the news. Wait for me father, mother, and sister. "
