'While sword skills are a must so only two slots left. Even though Jason wanted the mechanic skill, vehicles will not directly transfer to personal power. I can choose is when I have enough power. Berserk is a very good skill but it is a double-edged sword and I already have the asura drug which can achieve a similar effect without the possibility of him hurting his allies.
If my understanding of what runes are capable of then it would make living in the apocalypse a hell lot easier. Mana construct is a must for close combat fighting with cold weapons.'
Jason weighed out the options in his mind and finally came to a decision of buying Sword art and Runes and Mana construct…
Suddenly a literal light bulb went off in his head as Jason remembered an important detail about skills in the system.
He could learn them with practice and he will save himself from buying it. He got the pan smashing skill in a similar way.
'Why didn't I get the sword skill when I fought the zombie using the sword' Jason asked the system.
'Learning skills is not as easy as you think, the pan skill was maxed out and you gained it immediately as there is very little skill required in smashing someone in the head with a pan. But if you want to gain a complicated skill like sword art then you will have to intentionally try to learn it and practice it for the system to register it.'
'Okay, that seems reasonable. It seems that I have a chance of getting the sword skill without getting it directly from the system'
Jason decided to buy the rune and mana construct for now and try to get the sword skill from the system. If he could not get it then he would buy the sword art directly from the system.
Jason could not continue his monologue as he saw something ahead of them.
His eyes narrowed as he saw the armoured trucks and a tank blocking the way with a barricade. They were about to enter the city Harry's parents were and it seemed that there was something wrong in there.
"Are you seeing that?" Kim's voice came over the radio.
"yes " He replied, his mind working overdrive on how to deal with this new development.
"what do we do now?" Kim asked as she was intimated by the lineup in front of them.
"Let me go see what all of this is about. You and others stay here" Jason said as he prepared to jump down from the truck.
"NO, You are not risking your life again like this" Kim said in an angry voice.
"I can go super speed if you can remember...I can just vanish from their sight if something goes wrong" Jason said easily. He was the best in the group for scouting jobs due to his super speed.
"Be careful" Kim said grudgingly as she could not find fault in his logic.
Jason jumped down from the truck as Kim stopped the vehicle, she kept she assault rifle ready and indicated Arya and Harry to be ready in case of an emergency.
Jason had walked leisurely so that his abilities remain hidden so that he can have an upper hand if a fight breaks out.
The soldiers in the squad in front of him all aimed their guns at him in preparation.
"We just want to cross through this city " Jason said loudly as he reached within their audible range. He had the natural urge to raise up his hands in a surrendering motion when he saw the line up front of him but he suppressed the urge as he knew that if he wanted he could demolish this group in front of him in mere seconds.
"You'll have to enter the survivor camp to enter the city. All food items and weapons will be confiscated and all able bodied men will have to either do manual labour or learn to fight zombies. Women will have to go to their respective department. " The head of the group said.
"We just want to cross this city, we aren't interested in joining any groups" Jason explained calmly.
"That's not possible, the governor of the city has declared martial law and each and every citizen has to follow through and join the survivor camp to aid humanities survival"
"Sorry then we'll just move to another city then" Jaosn said as he turned back and started walking towards the truck. Even though he was walking towards the truck his attention was still on the group behind him in case they tried anything fishy.
"Hold up" A loud voice came from behind.
"You already are at our city's border. You need to go to the survivor camp now as per governor's order"
"We are not interested,we'll be leaving shortly"Jason replied calmly as he continued walking towards the truck." He did not want to fight with these guys, they might be actual military or they might just be a group of survivor soldiers working on their own. Whatever they may be he did not care he would just find another way in the city.
Jason suddenly felt a stuffy feeling inside his chest and a chilly feeling came from his right leg.
*Bang
Time slowed down around him as he simply moved towards his right to avoid the bullet that was aimed at his leg probably to scare him.
As he turned towards the militant group he heard Kim and all roaring over the radio as they heard the shot and he knew Kim would be here in no time along with the others.
But Jason wanted to try his new abilities first.
A cold glint flashed through his eyes as he moved towards the group.
