"No your highness just-?!" The librarian answered but Calder didn't wait to hear the rest as he rushed inside and went to the romance section of the library. "Where is it? Where is it? Where is it?!" Calder muttered as he scanned the selves. Then his eyes grew wide when he saw so many titles that were in his past life. "Fallen Princess and her Loyal Knight, The Woman in the Fog, The Invisible but Good Man? What the hell is all of this?" He muttered as he scanned more books.
"Golden Day of the Attic Woman, Just Simply Loved, Kill Me Slowly with Your Gentle Hands, Whispers of the Bedroom?" Calder gasped. "That one is my favourite." He heard someone say beside him. Calder jumped back and hit his back against the railing. "Look out!" She shouted as she grabbed Calder's arm. "T-thank you." Calder said as he tried to calm his heart.
"You're very welcome." Lady Britille said with a very angelic smile. Then she gasped. "Your bleeding!" She shouted and Calder looked down. "Oh, that's nothing. Don't worry about it." He said as he started to button up his shirt. "No you need to get medical attention right now." Lady Britille said as she reached out to Calder. "It's alright. I will go see Landis after I grab a book." Calder said coldly as he pushed away Lady Britille's hand.
Lady Britille's smile stayed in place as she retracted her hand. "If that is the case may I help you find the book so that you can be on your way?" She asked sweetly. Calder looked at her face and felt remorseful. He knew she was a good girl despite her dark desires but just like Esai said this was not Mei's novel. "I am looking for The Little Black Sheep by Red." Calder said. "Red?! I didn't know you read Red's work! I am a huge fan!" Lady Britille said happily but then her face fell slightly. "But I'm afraid I have never heard of that book." She admitted.
"I think we have the only copy." Calder replied as he moved towards the book shelf. "Well I have looked through the entire Red collection and I can tell you that it's not here." Lady Britille announced. Calder paled and scanned the shelf again. He looked towards the spot it should have been but nothing was there so he looked at each book individually. "But if you ask the librarian he might know where it is." Lady Britille said in a chipper voice.
Calder said nothing and thought about what she said. "No, it's alright. I think I will go with a different book." Calder said as he moved and grabbed a book titled 'A Bridge Between Worlds.' When Lady Britille caught sight of the book she squealed. "Oh that is one of my favourites by Red." She said happily but Calder just gave her a very dry look. He then gave her a quick bow.
"Sorry about the other times I was very rude to you." He said apologetically but he knew his words were only said half heartedly. She still reminded him of the types of girls he dated back when he was Taki. "It's okay. I know I was a little forward and misunderstood you too." Lady Britille said in a bit of a panicked voice. Calder raised his head then turned away. "Well thank you for your help I will be leaving first." He said nonchalantly then started to walk.
"Wait let me walk with you!" Lady Britille shouted as she chased after Calder. "That is not necessary." Calder said flatly as he approached the librarian's desk. "No please. It's not really because I'm worried about you or anything but I really don't know my way around!" Lady Britille said as she showed him a bashful look.
Calder hummed and presented the book to the librarian. "H-here you go y-your highness." The librarian said with a heavy stutter and Calder glanced at him. The man had to be in his early thirties and he was blushing like a school boy. Calder glanced back at Lady Britille and rolled his eyes. "Just because of a smile?" He thought then grabbed his book.
"Lady Britille will you not be checking out a book this time?" The librarian asked. "No not this time Brian." Lady Britille said sweetly then the librarian's whole face flushed. "I think you can find your way around just fine." Calder said courtly as he walked away. "W-wait your highness! Sorry Brian." Lady Britille said as she chased Calder again.
"I don't know what you mean? I have no idea how to find my way around such a maze like place." Lady Britille complained as she caught up to Calder. He stopped walking and turned to Lady Britille. "Then how did you find the library?" He asked coldly. "I found it be accident!" Lady Britille said in her defense. Calder clicked his tongue and started to walk again.
"Really? Then how did you find your way back?" Calder asked as he felt his temper rising. "I asked Brian for help." Lady Britille said as she started to huff. "Brian? Well you got yourself acquainted pretty quickly. Did the same thing happen with Wystan?" Calder asked coolly but Lady Britille's jaw slacked and she stopped walking. "Are you jealous?" She asked bluntly.
"What?!" Calder growled as he looked back but he didn't stop walking. Suddenly he crashed into something and a small cry was heard. His eyes widened in fear as he turned around and spotted Lady Syria on the ground. "Syria are you alright?!" He shouted as he bent down to help her up but his face paled. "Why can't you watch where you're go-?!" Lady Syria started to shout but then she paled as her eyes rounded in utter horror.
"Your highness!" She shouted as she scrambled to get off the ground just as Calder dropped his book and doubled over. "Your highness! Your highness! HELP! SOMEONE HELP!" Lady Syria shouted as she caught Calder. "S-s-s." Calder gasped as his eyes started to close. "Your highness please open your eyes!" Lady Syria cried. Soon footsteps started to approach the three. "Lady Syria what have you done?!" Lady Britille gasped as guards appeared.
