Chương 70: 70. Application

Rei got up extra early for his jog the next day as he had school. Coming out from his bath he saw a very sleepy Sora making his way inside. It was tough for Sora to wake up early after a 2 month-long vacation.

Rei took out his clothes and wore his simple school uniform. I wore a white shirt with a dark blue blazer and dark blue pants to match it. He checked his bag once again for all the books and went out towards the hall. He kept his bag on the couch and went to the dining room.

He sat on the dining table and waited for the food. He didn't help Narumi on school days morning as it would make her angry. He quietly waited and after 10 minutes Narumi started setting up the table. Sora came by then still with a sleepy face.

They started eating and Rei checked the time as they completed. They still had half an hour left. So they wore their shoes, told goodbye to Narumi, and started walking towards the school.

The school starts sharp at 8 and if someone dared to come late, they would receive punishment from the student council which was quite harsh and humiliating.

As they walked sora started the conversation, "So you have decided to join the baseball club today?"

"Yah I will go on my lunch break and submit my form."

"Good, but are you sure you want to play for the school club and not Kazi senior. The middle school teams play with a softball, not hardball. Your team is also not that strong."

"Yeah, it's fine if it is a softball because I am sure to get the position of catcher. This way I will be able to get some experience on how to play with a team. If we're talking about strength even Kazi senior wouldn't have been much without you or Meiko."

Feeling what Rei told was sensible Sora didn't continue the matter. As even though Kazi senior was a team strong enough to make it to the nationals they wouldn't pass the first round without Sora or Meiko.

"Then what about the cooking club. Without you or the other two senpais, it would get disbanded."

"Yah we let it get disbanded. The senpais supported me to do what I like and didn't care about it much. They felt like it would continue if it was meant to be by some new junior."

They both continued to talk as they reached school. Sora went ahead when he saw the school council president, Uchiyama Katsuro. He was Sora's friend since coming to Kami town and both of them were very close.

He was a very upright and truthful person to talk to. He was also very straightforward when talking to others, not hiding anything and Sora liked this quality from him. Being straight forward was good quality and it made him the president. He was also the smartest kid of the school, while Sora wasn't as smart.

Leaving Sora, Rei went towards his classroom. As he entered he saw Mizuki and Keiko talking in his seat. Their seats were pretty far away this year, with Keiko in the front and Mizuki on the other side near the classroom door. The change of places was mainly due to them talking in classes causing a disturbance.

Mizuki and Keiko were very involved and didn't notice Rei. He kept his bag on the holder provided back of his chair and coughed twice gaining their attention. Both of them noticed Rei and greeted him. Greeting them back Rei continued talking with them till the teacher entered in.

The rowdy class became silent as people went back to their seats. The teacher, Terada Haru, was the same homeroom teacher the previous year and taught them science. Terada started taking attendance and asked Keiko who was the class monitor to collect everyone's homework.

Some of them groaned hearing this and asked Terada some more time, but poor them as Terada was very strict when it came to homework. After collecting the homework he turned towards the class and said, "Ok now those who failed to submit it meet me after school." and walked out of the class.

The classes began and the first was Maths. The day continued as 3 classes went by quickly reaching lunch break. Rei stood up as the teacher exited the class to go towards the staff room. He made his way inside the room and went towards Terada.

"Oh Rei, Why are you here?" asked a surprised Terada.

"Sensei I need to talk to you about something."

"Go ahead, but before that tell me if you let Mizuki copy your homework again."

Hearing his question Rei couldn't help but curse Mizuki as he reminded her to not copy it completely the same.

At the same time in class, Mizuki who was having her lunch with Keiko sneezed.

"Are you having a cold, Mizuki." asked a very concerned Keiko, seeing her sneeze.

"No, it must be some bastard talk about my beauty behind my back again."

"Take care of your health." and both of them continued eating.

Rei, who was being interrogated, answered slowly, "I helped her with the homework, Sensei. But don't worry I taught her the contents before she copied them."

"Ok, then I will believe you this time, Rei. But you and Keiko shouldn't keep helping her like this. Allow her to do her homework at least."

Rei could only nod his head and Terada asked, "So what was it you were going to ask about."

"Sensei, I want to leave the cooking club and join the baseball club."

Terada was shocked hearing this but asked, "What happened Rei? You should know if you leave the club it would get disbanded."

"Yes I know sensei I asked both the senpais and they were ok with it."

"Ok then let me get an application form," said Terada with a sigh and searched his drawer for a form.

He took an application out and Rei filled it. Terada checked if it is good and told him, "Ok now go to the baseball club coach after classes."

Rei nodded and made his way out. After he went out another 3 girls came inside the staff room and went towards Terada.

"Sensei, we would like to join the cooking club." asked one of the girls.

Hearing her Terada was shocked. It was just a few seconds back that Rei left it and now 3 first years were willing to join it.

"Ok I will give you 3 an application form and you can fill it. Just now the remaining member of the club left it and so it is you three for now."

All of them nodded and filled in the forms, handing them back.

"Ok, now you three are officially part of the cooking club. I will ask the senior who left the club to talk with you three soon."

The girls nodded as they were also curious about this senpai of theirs who left the club and exited the room.
