Chương 1: Prologue
I can't breathe...
The wispy sound of my breath came in bursts. Every part of my body was in pain and i couldn't move from where I was splayed.
"Rose!"
I strained my eyes to focus on the face in front of me, but it was blurry and the world around me was slowly sinking into darkness. I fought it away and reached for the face above my own.
"Hey, Rosie... don't you die on me, okay? Look at me," the masculine voice demanded of me. I stared at him and could finally make out his features. He couldn't be anymore than twenty-five years old. His hair was black with some silver running, his eyes were coal black with flecks and a ring of red inside them. He was staring at me as if he knew exactly who I was, but...who was I?
"Don't leave me here in the world alone, Rose. I don't want you to leave me yet! You have a full life ahead of you, you can't just give up on all of that now!" Tears started streaming down his cheeks and fell onto my face.
I watched the man carefully trying to remember who he was, but all I could find was the darkness tugging at the edge of my mind, willing me to fall victim to its welcome.
"My Rose... please, look at me," he called me and snapped me back to his gaze. His eyes pleaded with me, tears forming in his eyes. They looked so out of place on him, but I don't know why.
"Rose... I love you, my sweet Rose... please stay with me. I can't lose you!" The man called and smashed his lips to mine. He tasted like cinnamon and something metallic....blood?
He pulled away and cupped my cheek in with one hand and held me to him with the other. I looked past him and saw the man coming for us.
My foreign voice assaulted me, clawed at me to release it, but it was like everything around me stopped.
