Chương 21: Chapter 21
For the next few hours, his mother dragged him to different sites, making sure not to repeat, but making sure they were at least 30 lengths of him at least away. It took him at least a minute every time to get back to his body after his mother tells him to go back. Each time, he closes his eyes, feeling the squeezing start to slowly feel his body inflate with each attempt, taking less time to recover when he gets back.
On the other side, it looks like icicles had fallen near Azure and Lapis, they are both working hard, trying to get it so that they can go hunting for their own food. Between each attempt to come back to his body, as he recovers, he takes some time to watch the pair, they were trying to get larger and larger icicles. Which amused him as he watched Azure manage a paw thick icicle, her sister close behind.
Nadia was watching them slightly amused, letting them try to get larger and more stable as possible, some times those thick icicles were half water and half ice, which winds up dropping on their head. They weren't to affected getting wet like that, but it did amuse him to see their ears forced down by the force of the water.
He looks at Nadia and sends her the image of a needle, Syren seems to nod along with that idea. The mother vixen bares her teeth, seeming to try and imitate a smile, radiating amusement at the fact that he realized what they should be trying for. She secretly forms a couple of needles above her head, looking like it was ready to turn him into a cork board. "Think they will realize the spears might make their dinners paste?"
Syren nods her head, "Maybe after the first time they try. Though, I think Nadia will point that out soon, they are getting a little excited now and wanting to get to have the chance to." She says with amusement. "Now, back to work for you." She says with what feels like is an evil look, like she wasn't going to let him stop until he is dead.
This time, he come out, he actually manages to convince her to let him walk out by himself. He chooses a different direction then she had been leading him, going towards a cluster of white balls of light, he was curious as to what had been going on. His mother just follows behind him silently, not asking what he might be looking for.
They were a few minutes to reach his planned destination, and found a few prey animals, it was a strange mix, it looked like a boar and a hedgehog had a baby. Thick spines were pointed back, slicked like a gangster in a 50's movie. In his mind, he gave them the stereotyped Italians voice, doing 'Hey.'
He didn't know why, but it was fun to watch them, he had no thoughts of eating them. The fact they had those huge spines on their back didn't really draw into his dismissal as a source of food. He did however, want to collect them, bring them all into his world. It was like a little kid wanting to get all the race cars from the toy store.
He moves close to one of the runts and presses his nose against it's head, his mother not stopping him from doing it, making him feel like he was safe. He suddenly finds himself thinking, 'mama said tasty grass was over here. Let me grab some more.' It wasn't like he couldn't separate himself, he starts pulling himself back, like he fell into silly putty, just having to wipe it slowly pressed back to where it belonged.
His mother nods at him, "That's perfect, usually we wait until you can get back without any waiting, but you did perfect." She says with a bit of pride in that. "Well, since you want to 'collect' them, why don't you start with convincing that runt." Her nose was pointing to the little hedge boar that he had just felt's memories.
His mind is a blank as he looks at the boar, thinking how to convince her, humming a little in his mind as he looks at it. He tries to imagine what would bring the little boar to him. He knew that the little boar was looking for some tasty grass. Though, he doesn't want to actually separate the baby boar from his mama, it was strange of him to think they were so cute.
He closes his eyes to clear his head, not wanting anything that might be aggressive, just thinking out, 'Tasty grass that way.' What he doesn't notice, is that he hadn't focused on the single boar, and instead broadcast to the whole herd.
The herd, luckily, was only 10 with 4 parents and the piglets that were starting to run towards where they think there is tastier grass. Heading with a fast little clip, they seemed to be running hard. He tries to run after the little herd that was already into the tree line. His mother looks on with a smile, "You better get back quick, Azure and Lapis might decide dinner has shown up." She says and seems to turn into a blur and shoots along the same path the boars had been traveling.
He sighs a little and thinks again of that tether, this had been hammered in, and it felt like he had hit the speed of light, trees and grass blurring into lines, making him feel sort of like he had been trying to teleport instead of being dragged back.
He was soon looking out at the practicing vixens, they had progressed to needles, shooting them towards where he had been traveling through. His heart seems to leap into his throat for a moment, "Guys, you need to move your practice, I got something coming through there."
His mother actually takes the time to explain for him as he stares where they would be arriving. He was like a kid at christmas, jumping up and down a little, pacing back and forth until the first form starts to show up, the little piglets were leading the pack breaking into the clearing before the cave. Little shivers through their bodies start to shake their spines. One actually sneezes and shoots a few spines that stab into a tree.
That didn't stop the little wolf from running up and giving a bump of his nose against the forehead. The cold hedgeboar disappearing right into a little grove for his family. The parents were a little wary when they arrive, the mother notices the missing boar and trying to find her son. The wolf brings her inside to show that he is safe. The rest of the boars were getting worked up, feeling like there is a problem now, staring at him.
His mother shakes her head a little, she just forces them to sleep, showing them the pair was safe. It lets him have a little bit of sigh of relief, worried that he might have wound up a pincushion to their spines. "Get them all, we can't have them sleep for all this time." She says. Which makes him agree.
Through the 'collecting' process, he finds out the 4 parents, there was only one male boar, the rest were females. The piglets were a little more diverse with 4 males and 2 females. When he got the last piglet, he falls on his face with how much energy he had used, passing out into the black, without the chance to look at his world.
