Chương 13: Chapter 13
There was a mad rush for the fruit that had landed down, most of them not even realizing the fact that there is only one so far. He was aware enough to not even attempt run towards the scuffle with prey animals and the few felines that were ready to fight. It was a small group that manages to get it, well literally small, there was a few field mice that were able to hide in between the larger animals. It was almost in discernible. The few felines letting out the blood of the few animals that they could manage to.
Now, there was mostly small animals, mouses and a few over sized rabbits. These rabbits were at least his size, with a couple of larger ones looked like they were going to try and get as large as his mother. Nadia and Syren were watching the fruits, it seems like the first fruit starts a cascade, the lightened limb shaking loose the fruits and dropping some closer to the group. It was almost another blood bath, but most of the prey animals were smart enough to only grab one of the fruits. Grabbing them and quickly carrying them away.
Azure and Lapis were finally breaking out of the slightly horrified state, rushing to a few of the fruits that had fallen close, causing Nadia to chase after them. The larger blue fox was able to reach her daughter's quickly enough, guiding them towards those that close enough. It almost felt like watching chihuahua's chasing tennis balls, happily grabbing their fruits and showing them off to their mother. Who took the chance to grab her own.
Syren finally decides where to pounce, charging forward in a wind sprint sort of style, reaching the closest then bringing it back, quickly making a small little pile of the treats as the foxes get back. The whole group was acting as if it was everyone for themselves. The wolf cub knew that was pretty much his thought as he ran for one. Not planning to let those unthinking beasts even notice there was some safer fruits around the edges. The cub looks out and even eyes his mother's pile of fruits, tempted to grab a second, but he was almost scared to even think about it.
He was almost scared to even try to let his drop, trying to close his mouth, almost acting like a snake as he feels the taste of it, head raised as if he was going to howl. His teeth tearing into the skin as the fruit juices were landing on his tongue. It reminded him sort of an energy drink mixed with orange juice. It was a weird morning, but he found out, he preferred to keep them at least a little bit separate. It was making him feel like he should be running and not trying to consume this fruit.
Some of the sweet flesh was starting to fall into his mouth it was completely covering his tongue, as his throat swallows, taking in as much as possible. It's smell was better then the taste, but it was still something that satisfied him with that. It was a minute of eating that left his muzzle a mess, making him clean up with tongue, smacking his mouth with the noise.
He now moves his head over towards looking at the rest of them. His mother was a bit better eating, using her front teeth to tear into the flesh, and swallowing each bite quickly. Azure and Lapis followed their mother's lead, who was taking quick little bites and filling her mouth. It was about five minutes before they had finished with their meals. Eyes turning back, thinking about charging out for more, but now, there was a melee of prey animals fighting with each other. Most of the time, they stop after being hit away with enough force. The felines were quick to collect theirs, having a slightly hard time about it. Only a couple of times, he noticed the fruits being batted back towards their group.
It was almost looking like some were even getting desperate enough to try and grab from them. A few larger animals were starting to appear, like a dear and sheep with some rams mixed in. Their curled horns giving off an intimidation factor, leading their own group to claim a piece. The rest of the group was quick decide to head back.
It was almost a hard choice to decide where they would go, his mother had some vague ideas, based on prey. Nadia, however, knew only the stream that they had been living near. She had an idea where a river was, but mostly, she stayed where she had been safe. They decided to head back towards the forest for now, Syren taking the lead back. It was quiet, almost to quiet compared to the cacophony of noise that was happening behind them. Almost all of the animals nearby had shown up for the chance at the treats.
They settled under one of the trees again, their bodies closely pressed against each other, for the first time, he was the first one to fall asleep, the rest of them on an almost caffeine like high. He once again falls into realm of his world, seeds from the fruit had been planted, resting in sporadically planted, spread out everywhere over the surface. The energy starting to circle a bit more actively, the trees seeming to have their own little heat to them, forcing his ways deep into his bones. It makes him question whether the rest of their pack was able to refine these strong energies.
He realizes the energies inside of himself seemed to be at the levels that could capture one of the smaller bunnies into his hidden world. Making him think about convincing his mother and the rest to help him start to capture some prey animals. He is almost curious if he could bring them out to eat. His mind was planning different ways to ranch some animals, making his own personal food supply.
