Tóm tắt
As one of the first players to gain access to World of Falan—the first immersive game worldwide—Roland creates his character as a Mage.
However, playing as a Mage is not as fun and easy as he thought. His head even explodes after he casts the very first spell in the game.
Stubbornly sticking to his class when most Mages decide to create a new character, Roland gradually discovers tricks of the trade and his unusual talent. This allows him to change people's stereotypes on Mages and to explore the deeply-buried secrets of this game…

Viết đánh giáThe mechanics of the game and the mage class are fun to learn about and are very interesting, The plots seems very slow paced but when you continue to read the next thing you know your on ch 39. Overall the bonds the McCain have with his friends are great, the interactions with the Npc dont feel akward but more realistic. If I could give this a 100 I would.
Highly addictive, push this 1 out so i can spend coins! Great story about the struggle of becoming a mage in a world where the npc are highly intelligent.
Really good novel, but the MC destroy it for me a bit. This is just personal preference but I don't like overly kind MC, those that dont have even a bit of selfishness. It's just abnormal and unsatisfying for me to read, like if the main scope and more effort is done to help the NPCs instead of just focusing on getting stronger (if for example exterminating a village would give a bonus and a good achievement, I bet the MC would never do it, because he cares too much about the NPC like real people), which is usually the goal in video games novels. It just doesnt feel like a video game, but just a strange isekai. NPCs super realism is good, but when it's so good that people start to treat them like real peoplr than it becomes bad in my opinion, it start to get away from the video games genre and becomes a isekai-system novel. The novel is fresh and a new type of concept different from usual, I get it, but that doesnt change that it cant be bad because of it. This is just my preference tho since I dont like hero-saves-everyone type of MCs, I am more into the neutral-kind that focuses on their goal primarily. To quote another review on another problem: "I categorically disagree with how the author manages the knowledge of the main character, similar to the fantasies of a little girl from a wealthy family about the structure of the world order. Of the 500,000 or 50,000 (I did not understand) players... the author believes that there are no maniacs, killers, rapists, ganibals, crazy ones. Only the rational fertility of mankind, with which it helps to become stronger, so that they protect the world... Of course, all the scum themselves would have guessed sooner or later, but it simplifies the task for many, so kindly saving them time. What a good guy, the author will certainly not allow, on the other end of the continent, or even in another city, which pyromaniac to destroy and burn out settlements, together with the inhabitants, with the help of a fireball..." The rest is very good, but this two problems bring down my wating to read a lot.
Tiết lộ SpoilerOK for those wanting to read a decent fantasy novel its here....but.......there are things you need to know. The author is Chinese and there will be lots of propaganda and nationalism in this novel. Things like the author outright saying that the ccp "never tells lies" and a lot and i mean a **** ton of blaming actions on people solely being capitalists. Another thing that ive noticed from the overseas novels is that they treat women like a underclass. If this was a novel about medieval times or even early 1900s id say its appropriate but its not. So its very interesting and cool concept riddles with Chinese nationalism and ***ism. Way to blow it. If anyone has a novel that is similar to this , but that isn't written by some nationalistic virgin comment below.
This is review for only 60 chapters during Trial Period of this novel. A very good novels for those who like Magic Elements. Don't get fooled by the "Video Game" genre of this novel. There is no system, STAT page, World Announcement or Ranking Leaderboard. The Game Interface is divided into Announcement(Level Up, Exp Gain, Quest, Update Notice, etc), Spell Models(spells that MC knows). It also contains a bit of Dark theme storyline as MC get to know that a Noble Family in the game world ate Human Heart(Orphan Children's) as they believed it will help then gain more lifespan. If you forget about the Real World, Game Cabins and Player Resurrection Skill then this novel is just like any other(good) cultivation novel(Magic except of Qi). MC is a OP mage because of his unique Talent "Magic Power Control". Any character in the game can choose 2 talents freely but MC already has this innate talent chosen for him so he was only able to choose 1 talent freely. Very little is known about the worlds both Game and Real. In these 60 chapters, Real World Storyline mostly revolves around MC updating his forum page, MC and his friends talking about the game in MC's friend's bar, MC in his office handing his Resignation Letter to the Manager. As for the Game World Storyline, it revolves around the town where MC spawned, the city he goes to, name of the country they are in and The Holy Realm where you have to go to make a guild. And lastly if you like this novel after reading and want to read MTL then you can search its chinese name on google. Its chinese name is:- 法爷永远是你大爷最新章节
This book is the example of good ideas, but poor choices. You can clearly notice when the author switched from good writing to just pure s*x and dirty/lowkey s*xist jokes. However, chapter 741. I can overlook and cringe at edgy 13 year old humour, but what the author writes is borderline r*pe of the main character. His best friends get him seriously dr*nk, and the girl that had a crush on him for 'years' (An example of another forgetten storyline from chapters ~400) takes him to a bed. She when cl*mbs and makes red marks on the bed to suggest that they had s*x and guilt trips him next morning to have s*x again. This is not cute, and as someone that had a similar experience, the least the author could had done is given a trigger warning. I even wonder how webnovel would allow something like this on their site.
Wow. This is the literal best novel I’ve ever read, and dayum it is not what I was expecting it do be 😂 I was just lookin for some casual OP MC books with the occasional face-slap, and I stumbled upon this masterpiece! The plot has INCREDIBLE potential and the development is also very good, with hints at what is to come but nothing concrete. The class development so far is also very good, with seemingly (😏) balanced classes, whether they be balanced with more speed and less strength, or more everything and less “oH iF I sWING mY sWORD lIke tWICE iLL gET eNOUGH eXP tO lEVEL uP.” Overall, this novel is going VERY well so far, and the only excuse I can find that would be reasonable to not read it is that it’s only got 60 chapters right now. Also, just because of how relatable the MC and the other characters are, I’m going to point this out. The characters style of humor, their hobbies, and even their daily life is incredibly relatable. While this man is incredibly talented in-game, outside of it he’s just one of the bois, going to bars with friends, riding his back, playing some old nostalgic childhood games from time to time, and just not being a douchebag based on peoples’ backgrounds, etc.. It really gives this book a great comedic affect even making you laugh about things that weren’t even meant to be funny. Overall, this novel deserves five stars without a doubt, and if you’re debating reading it, read through at least the first two chapters, and you’ll know whether you like this or not.
Started out good had high hopes, but yeah kind of turned to shit. a problem many chinese suffer from the semi racist shit and talking about women and their character traits like its the middle ages over generalises how all women are all the time a problem a lot of chinese novel suffer from but it's exremely bad here. Kind of wonder if the author has even meet a women before. i get it he wants a to write a harem wich are usually shit but this is just extremely bad even for a harem.
In the sea of mediocrity, copy/paste stories and ****ty writing, this novel sticks out. At least for first 60 chapters. It has potential to be amongst top stories of this site. Hope it wont deteriorate later.
DO NOT READ. Initially amazing story that eventually derails into literally nothing after 500 chapters due to the author essentially giving up on the story. Imagine if Oda decided to end One Piece in 10 chapters during the Marine Ford arc, or if Naruto randomly ended after he got the rasenshurican. That's this story - an amazing and elaborate world and set up that randomly gets force ended at the end of an abrupt 20 chapter arc during what feels like halfway through the story. Everything is squandered and it happens in such a sexist, pointless, and Chinese nationalist way. You will literally only regret reading this in the long-term. The world you learn to love will get ripped apart and tarnished.
Honestly I really liked this novel but the ending was just kind of... meh. The worldbuilding was great and had a lot of potential but the author didn't capitalize on that with the MC only studying all the time. Also there were many plotholes that were left unattended to like Betta's death, the aliens, the game world, etc. I would really like to get some closure on these topics but as with most novels, I probably won't get this. I thought that the dynamics of the characters were fun to read but the romance in the story was honestly not very great, especially with the harem at the end. I understand that the author had a hard time writing the novel at the end and that he was having problems writing the novel with his health problems. The first few chapters of the novel really got me hooked with how the spellcasting worked and all that. Also the system in this novel was well flushed out unlike other novels on this site and the skill naming was nice and descriptive without much superfluous talk. If I was asked if I would recommend this novel to other's, I would definitly say to give this a read because it is definitely one of the gems on this app/site. But I would also point out that one shouldn't expect to find a seemless ending. Thank you to the author for producing this great novel for us to read!
Tiết lộ SpoilerI once gave this story five stars but after the first hundred chapters the quality of the story dropped significantly and problems well known from other chines story's make an appearance. We get the usual Chinese propaganda bullshit and atrocious s.e.x.sim. And let's not forget the plot holes, because of course there would be some of those as well. Don't support this s.h.i t.
Alright. If you are looking for something proper that makes sense. Then this isn’t for you. If you just want randomness that will be funny then sure. And before some idiot comes and say how I am being a troll. I will list it out. 1. The author tries way too hard to make the MC seem so good at this game. His struggle is so much so it makes him so great. Smh. Meanwhile no game like this would sell with such crappy features. Unless this is the alpha and major ass updates are needed. 2. Super big plot contexts that contradict. And a game that is so super advanced and supposed to apparently be a lighyear ahead pioneer shouldn’t have such. Smh. 3. The forcefulness of the pushing realistic VR to combine game elements and reality to the point that it doesn’t make sense. It’s like the author wants a reincarnation VR story but doesn’t do it as good as legendary mechanic or others. 4. I have seen reincarnation system stories with more believable and sensible system management. 5. It honestly feels like the author has never played any proper games or read and learnt from VR game stories. It has so much wasted potential. But that is just my point of view. I’m a serious gamer so I am fickle about the gaming aspect.
Alright, I really wanna talk about this, so here I go. I'll begin with what I like and what the author does well. Currently at chapter 628 so be warned of spoilers. And this review is long as hell. The selling point of this novel is the world-building; it's easily the most fleshed out and fully realized aspect of this whole thing. The author has done an excellent job at creating an interesting and detailed world within the game. The player interactions are genuinely hilarious (some of the time); I feel like the writer has a nice grasp on the gaming community. However, some times --scratch that, most of the time-- the sense of humor devolves into this perverted mess, which gets annoying with how repetitive it is. We get it, they're horny bastards. It was funny maybe the first few times, but as of recently it's just vexing. Especially with how much like pedophiles they act (we'll get to THAT later). Now on to the bad. This novel is severely held back by "game" issues, Gary Stu-ness, author completely abandoning plot lines, blatant ***ism and a plethora of other issues. First off, the game as a whole doesn't work as a game, like at all. Roland is unexplainably powerful, even by mage standards and can easily destroy groups of other players at his level. My problem with these game novels is that they're pretty much always broken in some way so the main character can dunk on everyone else. There's simply no balance as a game. I would be able to ignore all this, however, if it was confirmed that the game world is an actual alternate or parallel reality or something. Roland is still over-powered though, which makes it hard to have any real tension. Speaking of Roland, he's a decent protagonist for the most part, not an idiot (mostly) level headed, and calm. Can be annoying to read about sometimes. When he first enters the world and starts making discoveries, he shares pretty much all his secrets for some reason on the forum. He has no instincts as a gamer sometimes. He was kinda annoying at the start, but he's more or less inoffensive these days Roland is also pretty much a Gary Stu; everything works out for him all the time. If something doesn't work out, it does eventually. He faces conveniences like no other and there are too many examples of this to list 'em, you'll have to read it yourself to see what I mean. This is a glorified power fantasy. One very frustrating problem with this novel is how writer completely forgets or abandons plot points. -White Amber is made out to be such a huge deal for Roland to increase his power, just for him to get it and never even bother with the damn thing for the rest of the novel -He meets with this vulpera village/city and they're built up to be somewhat of a focus just for us to never hear about that community again. -Night Tide Pod or whatever-her-name-is is built up to be a potential romance candidate, and Roland even considers marrying her, just to forget about that whole thing for the rest of the novel. He considers himself to be a traditional man just to fool around with Vivian and Andonara without batting an eye. What happened to his values? -The moral dilemma Roland faces as he struggles to differentiate the game from a simple game or a real world is just ignored after a while, even though it's a pretty interesting and important aspect. These are just a few I could think of off the top of my head but please believe there are a a handful of others. It seems AW (using this as author/writer from now on) got over his head. The ***ism and stereotypes are unreal in this. Every single female character is described or valued by how sexy they are and objectified. Every single action they take has to be described in some sexual way, it's just cringe worthy. Sometimes I feel like AW just needs to get laid with the way he will not chill with relegating every female to just being eye candy that everyone lusts after, and Roland of course woes in some way. There are a handful of moments where AW goes "all men love yachts" or "all men are this or that". The same is done for women. it's just funny to read this cringe worthy BS. *This next part is a rant* On the note of sexual content, the AW has officially gone too far. These players are genuine pedophiles, and it's played off as a joke. And yes, I'm aware they aren't technically children, but they are PHYSICALLY. Actually scratch that, Margeret is a child by dragon standards. When she was introduced the author spent so much time describing her features (as he does with every single) and we basically get the sense that she's a child. Doesn't matter though, doesn't stop AW from writing all the male characters to lust after this child-like body like it's nothing. The moment an AW calls their own characters lolita you know you're in for some crap. In the most recent arc, we meet the True Ancestor of the vampires, and as expected she's described as this young girl with an alluring aura. There's this line where the AW says something like "even though she looked to be 12 she was still alluring"... Uh, what? Not even bothering to hide it? lmaoo. I also call BS on the fact that she lived, AW clearly has a bias for this chick. There's absolutely no reason she should still be alive. With that, my review is over. I could go on and on about other problems, but then I'd be here all night, and other reviews have gotten into some of the issues, like the nationalism and whatnot. Cliffnotes version: If you're looking for a power fantasy with decent world building, an OP MC, and a story you need to turn your brain off to read sometimes, you might enjoy this. There was a lot of potential outside of the world building but it's kinda squandered. Regardless of all that I've said I cannot stop reading for some reason. Kudos to those who've made it this far.
Tiết lộ SpoilerPlot points are too forced... and things seem to go the MC’s way in an almost suspicious way... My real life work is really harsh.. oh nice, players are gifting me money... oh, what a coincidence, the game itself happened to advertise me... bringing me more money. Guess I can now quit my job, how convenient. My reputation in the village is in ruins? Oh, what a coincidence there’s hungry kids over there. Oh, what a bigger coincidence we’re cooking “spider” legs right now. Yay, now our reputation is saved.
I think there's nothing more to say, this is probably the best novel out of this batch of trial novels. This is the type of novels people are looking for. If I had to list the disadvantages, then it is the author's focus on sex. He's like a virgin teenager. Players go around having sex with NPCs as soon as possible. All NPC girls give away their body to any noble/mage NPC/player. Raped girls, murder girl cases... MC gropes a girl with mental power by mistake... MC stays in an Inn that is a brothel... MC gets info from a tavern that has girls serving customers with their bodies... the Chief of Magic Association has young pretty girls serving him in Tower. Every f girl is blushing and ready to have sex. ALL THIS IN 60 SHORT CHAPTERS The spoiler is the reason why I can't give this story 5* even though the MC is a honest and decent guy. All the author thinks of is s*x and every next situation must be somehow involved with it!!!
Tiết lộ SpoilerSo far at Ch. 60 of Trial Period, this book is one of the good one. Worldbuilding is good but still veiled by mysteries to let the MC explore. The pace of the story is not bad, despite the title of "OP" it is not that outrageous of OPness that comes like Plot Armour in most 'you-know-that-kind-of-book' but with His own hard work too. MC has a good head and he used it well. The System is not that annoying like most Video Games books. And no Harem in case you are worried about it. I hope this book get picked, Ciao
That cant seriously be the end? So much more needed to be concluded! If that is seriously the end and you dont have a good reason for it then I hope you stub your toe everyday for the rest of your life!!
A very fun read, ive already spent half the morning reading all 60 chapters in one sitting. Everything so far has been A+; From character development to the details of the world and the battle sequences. Lots of humour, but at the same time moments are very serious and chill inducing. Cant wait to read more of this novel!
