Chương 19: Ambush
*Yawn* it's the next day and we moved from our camping spot at first daylight. We have to rush because of the chance that human or orc forces realise that I'm missing and come searching.
*Crunch* we moved silently through the forest, we have come to an area where Tia and the others had encountered patrols of human squads before. We had made great progress with our travels so far so decided to slow down in areas like these.
Looking to my right I see a flash, like sunlight to metal. *Bang!* Quickly releasing what it is I slam my tail on the ground causing everyone to fall to their knees. I had discovered that my body is like compressed mass of my original body into this one. This means that even in this small body of mine I can bring out huge speed, strength and so on.
Just as everyone fell to the ground a bullet flew just over the heads of the group . It wasn't just one bullet there was many. Thankfully the only bullet to hit something was me but it didn't do any damage so it's okay.
"Everyone get into cover and protect the princess!" Dragon shouted out as she grabbed onto Tia and threw her behind some cover.
Soon exchanging fire came from both sides of the trail that we were following. *Bang* *Smack!* *Crack* bullets flew hitting the trees we were hiding behind as they cracked from the impacts.
Tia grabbed a hold of her rifle as she quickly leaned to the right of the tree and shot. After firing her shot she went behind her cover again as she readied her next shot. Looking over to her left wolf had placed her machine gun in between two branches that make a Y and fired. *Bang Bang Bang* wolf sprayed into the direction in which the gun shots came from.
By now every animal had fled from this exchange while more squads of the ambushers came for support.
Looking around I felt helpless. I don't have a gun nor can I rush out because of the threat of them realising who I am. I don't know what to do but as I looked over at Tia I saw the resolution in her eyes to fight and protect the ones she holds close. I can't just stay here doing nothing.
*Deep breath* *Exhale* I run out from my hiding spot and race towards the enemy. Running at a speed that the human eye couldn't keep up with I reach my target.
The enemy is all cloaked in black cloaks and all had single fire rifles. Extending my claws I slash at my targets. Feeling my claws rip through the shoulder of my enemy as it travel down into the chest I was calm. I felt nothing, I thought that perhaps because I was in Godzilla form that I didn't feel anything when I killed those humans and dwarfs but no. I felt nothing.
My targets had drawn out their own swords as they ran at me forgetting the other enemies that still have their own guns.
Turning around I slashed at another enemy removing his lower jaw and sending him flying a few meters back. As another enemy came from behind I smashed and caved in his chest using my tail.
From another angle another cloaked figure ran at me with sword in hand. Just as he was about to reach me something came from above.
*Rustle* "Don't you dare touch her!!!" Tia screamed as she jumped out of a tree she had manoeuvred to. Jumping at the target she flying kicked him in the face before she pulled out a pistol and shot three times into the chest. Taking her sword out with another hand she deflected an incoming slash.
Before her target could slash again *Bang!* a shot sounded from behind. Soon after a barrel of a rifle that belonged to eagle poked out of the direction we came from.
The four bodyguards all with sword in hand jumped out of the bushes and trees and slashed at the enemies. *Clang* *Clang* the sound of metal deflecting metal sounded out through the air.
We were outnumbered but with our sides obvious higher quality training we gained the advantage.
Looking back over to Tia she had just stuck her sword through the eye of an enemy before she ripped the blade out and splashed all the blood from the blade onto the ground.
With their numbers falling the enemies began to retreat but I knew just like everyone else that we couldn't let them leave.
Dashing forward I sliced the leg off of one enemy before decapitating the last. The one without a leg cried in pain as Tiger approached. Ripping the hood back a human was revealed.
His pale face from blood loss and the fear in his eyes clearly showed that they had underestimated this enemy.
"What are you doing here and where are you guys from?"
"...."
"Not answering huh?" *Stab* Tiger's blade went into his other leg as the man gasped in pain. Tiger slowly twisted the blade as she said "If you tell us I'll make your death painless".
The human man although terrified and obviously dying smiled as blood leaked from his mouth. "Long live the emperor"
He bite down suddenly before his mouth began to foam and his body twitched.
"Suicide huh? Guess they must have been part of an assassin type unit to do this. It either means we got a traitor who gave our plans away or they've been following us."
"Hmmm right well it's not much good to stay here so let's move. Wolf and eagle go scout ahead while I and Tiger stay with these two to protect. Move out!"
""Yes ma'am""
Soon the other two scattered as dragon turned to us. "Thank you Anna for saving the princesses life and even our own. We need to move now it's not safe let's go."
*Nod* we both nodded as we followed them. I guess we won't have a peaceful journey to Eldran then.
