.....
Yu Fei seem to only reveal a little much of his family's past as she had said, as she had become silent much later on. After patting Xiu Ye's head she then left.
Xiu Ye let himself fall back to bed and let out a long sigh of frustration for the problem that was called, life. He was just a kid, although one with an adult's brain, even still, he shouldn't face a lot of problems so early in his life.
"Ah screw it!" Xiu Ye gave up in thinking about said problems. "My future self would deal with it! I'm going to sleep." To which he did.
That night, Xiu Ye once more dreamt about a hill of swords and the bright yellow sun.
The next day, Xiu Ye, carrying his backpack filled with only his spare clothes, which was really all the things he owns, standing in front of a building while under the rising sun, he stared at a somewhat, large workshop's door.
The exterior of the workshop seemed somewhat shabby. On top, three words were written: Mang Tian's Workshop.
Even when he was in front of the doors, the smell of metal assaulted his nostrils.
'T-This complicates things...' Xiu Ye's eyebrows twitched.
He had imagined living in a normal household, not at a certain blacksmith's workshop!
"Sis, what the hell is going on here?" Thinking of no answers of his current situation, he turned towards the ever stoic nun Yu Fei, who then said.
"Xiu Ye, you know you can't live with me; knowing you don't want to get castrated." Xiu Ye nodded firmly. "And I can't just buy a house for us, cause I'm a nun, that job doesn't really pays well, and your family couldn't help because their actions are limited due to certain parties watching their every move."
Xiu Ye gently sighs and nodded, completely understanding how he really doesn't have much of a choice in moving out but he does want to ask the real question in his mind.
"Though why here? I understand that this place is pretty small but it still has a lot of people, people who could take kids like me and be a part of their lives. But, of every people in this small city, why would a blacksmith take me in?" Everyone knows that almost all blacksmiths in the three whole continents: are lofty people who would ignore the entire world for the sake of forging metal.
No competent or sane person from the Federation, would willingly send a child to a blacksmith.
"Xiu Ye, I don't know why; do I look like a Federation officer? I'm a nun. I shouldn't even supposed to be the one escorting you but with my ever virtuous and kind heart, I accompanied my little-brother that I raised for the last six years to his new home; for fear that he would end up be mistreated. Only to find out, that he just complains at me for something I have not the slightest idea of." Yu Fei said, with a slight frown on her face to show her displeasure and sadness over Xiu Ye's words for her.
Xiu Ye flinched, immediately regretting what he had said. He then quickly turned to apologize to Yu Fei, only paused with a deadpanned expression as the latter's eyes twinkled in amusement.
".. I'm ignoring you." Xiu Ye said, shaking his head, and then walked towards the doors of the workshop and pressed the doorbell: causing a buzzing sound, and a moment later a middle aged man opened the door.
The middle-aged man was tall and dark skinned. With his full beard, he appeared somewhat fierce and tough.
"Welcome." His deep voice was low and forceful. Listening to it, Xiu Ye unknowingly tensed up.
The voice reminded him too much of strict drill sergeants he once been under with; when he was trying out for the military, wanting to find out if he was compatible with being a soldier.
"Hello there sir." Yu Fei politely said, as politely as she could with an ever indifferent face, and handed Mang Tian a set of documents. "My name is Yu Fei, a nun and once the caretaker of this one, Xiu Ye;. who you'll be taking care of till he enters a intermediate academy.
"Hm." The man merely nodded in response, not caring that Yu Fei, who isn't a Federation officer, escorted Xiu Ye to him. Reading the documents on his hands; he signed the ones needed in the documents, and said.
"Boy, say what you want to to your caretaker. I'll be in the back, working." While saying that, he handed over the documents to a surprised Yu Fei and turned his heel halfway around and walked towards the door to his forging room.
Xiu Ye and Yu Fei looked at each other, not knowing what to say except,
"Uh, does he not know we live in the same city? Which we're like, five minutes of walking to each other's location?"
If Mang Tian were to hear them, he would be extremely embarrassed to the point of his entire face changing red.
Yu Fei tilted her head in contemplation before a look of realization lit up her face.
Moving her hand into her cleavage and seemingly grabbing something, she then turned towards Xiu Ye and said.
"Hey brat, catch." Xiu Ye quirked an eyebrow as he grabbed something long, thick and black on his right hand. It was a soul communicator.
Xiu Ye's eyebrows raise in surprise; soul communicators aren't really that rare but they are expensive, for people with low paying jobs like Yu Fei.
He glanced at Yu Fei in suspicion.
"What's that strange in your eyes? I didn't steal it!" Yu Fei rolled her as she defends herself. "I had some extra cash that I had stored when I was still in active service, before becoming a nun and rasing you."
Xiu Ye blinked his eyes in surprise.
"Active service? Wait a second, you're a soul master!?"
"...Brat, think of who's servant I am for a moment and further think of it, if, it'll be possible for me to be a ordinary person under your family?"
"..."
"Well then, stay safe brat, I'll–"
"Ah sister!" Mang Tian rough voice interrupted her as he hold a soul communicator on his hand. "Forgive me for interrupting your farewells but the Spirit Pagoda just contacted me, they want Xiu Ye to get his spirit soul."
"Wait what?" Xiu Ye and Yu Fei simultaneously both said in confusion.
"Yeah, it appears that every child that awakens with Innate Full Soul Power and has no family background, the child is granted one spirit soul for free. In this case, Xiu Ye will be given one, although I'll now be taking care of him but the Spirit Pagoda said that they'll let it slide."
"I see..." Yu Fei muttered with a slight golden twinkle in her eyes.
"So why can't you escort Xiu Ye?" Mang Tian shook his head and said.
"I currently have work to be done right now, so I have no time to escort him. Unless you're busy yourself..."
Yu Fei shook her head and said, "No, I don't. Alright then, brat, leave your stuff and let's go to the Spirit Pagoda."
"Your room is at the other building behind, that's my house, second floor, go to the hallway and then go left, that's your room." Mang Tian added then left to go back to his forge.
Xiu Ye nodded and sped off to the second building, quickly and nimbly going past the workshop, entered Mang Tian's house and gone to his room to leave his stuff. Minutes passed and he returned back to a waiting Yu Fei at the door.
"Ready?"
"Yup!"
