Chapter 38 — Gauna Army.
Jason Star's Daily Log | Day 155.
Yure's Laboratory | 1:00 PM.
Inside the spacious laboratory, Jason and Yure were discussing a certain important topic with themselves.
"So, how's the current progress of your supersoldier serum?" Jason curiously enquired.
"What supersoldier serum?" Yure clicked her tongue, thinking here they go again. "I've already told you a countless times that its superhuman serum, not that supersoldier or whatsoever."
"What's the difference? Stop being so obnoxious about such a small detail," Jason shook his head disappointedly. Yure didn't know the history behind the supersoldier serum, making it such a shame. Well, it was quite expected since Sidonia's entertainment industry grew backward after Earth's destruction.
"Anyway, how you doing fine with it?'
"To be honest, I've completed every animal experiments and trials that were necessary, gaining Kobayashi's approval after everything were safe and fine. The only thing left now is injecting the serum into an actual human body in order to know if some unexpected things occurs."
"Mmn, what enhancement does the supersoldier serum gives?"
"I keep telling you that it's not called supersoldier serum..." Yure grumbled, before sighing helplessly.
"After the injection, the entire cells will undergo massive transformations, turning into enhanced human cells capable of rapid growth of adaptation, quite similar to your own body."
Jason understood it was similar to his previous superhuman body, but there might still be difference.
"The physical body will also transform to become more stronger and sturdier with the lifespan growing longer. It might appear the same as your own body, but I actually modified the serum to instead concentrate on enhancing the brain itself, thereby strengthening its various capabilities and strengths, while also removing some of the inherent weaknesses."
"Why did you change it to enhance the brain significantly?"
"Its not like we need to fight a Gauna ourselves, right? So, I focused more on the enhancement of the brain which will prove more effective in long term."
"Make sense," Jason nodded his head, understanding how essential the brain when it comes to learning, adapting, and processing new things. It will certainly help Sidonia's fighting forces in the long run by improving the official pilot's combat abilities. The serum itself can also produce artificial genius people with the superhuman brain, making it important for the development of the entire Sidonia.
"When will you inject the serum on an actual human? I want to witness it, can I?"
"Yeah, you can. As for the date itself, its soon gonna happen. If by chance successful, we can proceed to inject more people, which will in turn provide more data for improvements and quicker implementation."
Jason wondered who will be the lucky person that will get injected first. Depending on the results, it could end up as disaster or a blessing.
He also knew that the people injected with serum were artificial superhuman. It made sense because normal humans were just forcefully evolved to become a superhuman.
The only way for the birth of a natural superhuman was if two artificial superhuman had an offspring.
In fact, Jason himself was also an artificial superhuman. However, that doesn't matter anymore since he was now a very different evolved race that was unique to his own.
"Hey, I've heard that you and Sasaki were working with something groundbreaking. Can I know about it?"
"Sure, but you must not leak it. We're actually planning to develop a new superior pilot suit, and the other one is a biological interface system that requires to transplant nanobots inside the pilot's spinal cord, creating a new pseudo brain lobe that grants many new information-based capabilities like enhanced spatial awareness. Both of those two required the use of the medical nanobots you handed toward us."
"I'm now very interested to see those reaching completion."
"Mmm, you can look forward for the completion of the new pilot suit, but the last one is not suitable for you to use."
Jason tilted his head in puzzlement.
"It might be a very useful system for the other pilots, but it will only hold you back if you use it."
"Then I can only accept that fact. Besides, I cannot be too greedy since I already have the TPIG SYSTEM."
Although Jason now reached Level 1 Seal, he still can only use the TPIG SYSTEM for 5 minutes or even less depending on the situation.
After discussing those things with Yure, Jason finally decided to say his goodbye.

Command Room | 9:00 PM.
"An image has been received from the surveillance drones that were observing Ocarina."
"The drones have spotted over 200 Gaunas coming out of Ocarina!"
The two masked assistants reported to Kobayashi.
Yuhata then added more information. "It also seems that Ocarina used another human-like strategy. It separated the 200 Gaunas into three groups that are heading toward Sidonia from three different directions. Ocarina most likely wants to separate the Guardian Knights since they're more powerful in groups."
"Has every Guardian Knights been equipped with the new mass drivers?" Kobayashi carefully asked.
"Yes, I've recently asked Chief Sasaki about the mass drivers mass-production," Yuhata immediately replied.
"Good, then we having nothing to fear anymore. With the new weapon, we will snipe the approaching Gauna from a distance without needlessly approaching them."
"Immediately order all available pilots to sortie out and eliminate the army of Gaunas approaching"
Kobayashi commanded fearlessly.
"Roger!" Yuhata and the two masked assistants replied with a shout, immediately asking all available pilots to sortie out.
It was a shame that Ocarina once again moved too late when the mass drivers were already mass-produced.
Despite that fact, the reason Ocarina took so long to send out another attack was because it prepared heavily this time, adapting to the new combat date it received from every fights with Sidonia.
It prepared all sorts of Anti-Guardian Gauna Army.
The various preparations consumed a lot of Ocarina's energy and resources, but it was definitely worth it.
That was what the amalgamated consiousness thought.
....
You might notice it became short, but I'm not over my eye problem, making me decide to take it slow.
Its hard to do the 20-20-20 rule, yknow? Have you set up Alarm and shit.
