It evening steadily going into the night when Kali and I reached Kuo Kuana at last and it was even more scenic than what was shown on the screen back on Earth. I took in the sights before me and I thought even if Blake isn't here it was definitely worth the trip to come here, Kali seeing me admire Kuo Kuana chuckled a little at me which brought me back to reality. I scratched the back of my head slightly embarrassed, I grabbed the large tuna and asked Kali to lead the way, as we walked to the Belladonna home I looked around and this place was definitely cramped even at this hour. When I reached the Belladonna home I admired the design of the large house and I spent a fair amount of time in Mistral which was known for its beautiful architecture. Kali used the door knocker to let the people inside know that we are at the front door and the door knocker was more intimidating in person than behind a screen, I couldn't help but ask.
Silva: So, who chose the door knocker?
Kali smiled with a bit of mischief and replied.
Kali: Me actually but my husband wanted something far more, as he said it, dignified than a simple doorbell.
I looked at her curiously and asked.
Sliva: Did you also decorate the rest of your home as well?
Kali leaned her head against her palm and said.
Kali: If we're being honest while Ghira, my husband, is a lot of things but a good interior decorator is not one of them and unfortunately my daughter takes after him in that regard because if she had her way her room would only have a bed and lots of bookshelves to with her books.
Well, that's something I didn't expect to learn about Blake, well let's see if I can find out more.
Silva: May I ask what she takes after you Mrs. Belladonna if I'm not prying too much?
Kali just smiled and replied.
Kali: Please Silva call me Kali and to answer your question she takes her good fashion sense from me plus she takes her love of books from both me and my husband. Speaking of which he should have answered the door by now or one of the guards if he's busy with something.
I'm honestly beginning to get curious myself as to why no one has answered the door yet but that can be answered later, I asked Kali if we could head on in to store the fish before it starts to smell and she pushed the door open than lead me to the kitchen to store the tuna in the large freezer. After putting away the large fish a guard showed up and spoke in a hurry dressed in black and white cloth, metallic plates on the hips, and a belt across the chest fastened with a yellow sash. Plus pauldrons on their shoulders with some featuring what appears to be the Menagerie Guard symbol. With a hood with a metal plate on the forehead that had a pair of rabbit ears sticking out along with open-toed boots fastened together with two yellow strings.
Guard: Lady Belladonna there has been a large group of Grimm spotted heading towards Kuo Kuana from the southeast part of the desert and the chief ordered me to notify you and to guard you when you got back.
I looked at Kali and asked.
Silva: Kali does this sort of thing happen often?
She shook her head then replied.
Kali: No, mainly because the wildlife in the desert is usually poisonous enough to kill even large Grimm plus there's the jungle in between here and the desert that houses some less toxic flora and fauna but they still generally deterred land-based Grimm from getting too close to Kuo Kuana.
I turned to the guard and requested.
Silva: Can you point me in the general direction of the line of defense.
Kali widens her eyes then said.
Kali: Silva you aren't seriously planning on heading over to help with the defense are you?
I replied with a light smile.
Silva: Yes because I can help with fighting plus I'm curious about what kind of Grimm are unique to the Menagerie.
Not giving Kali a chance to reply I used flash steps to speed towards the direction the guard pointed to leaving the Belladonna home behind. Once I was far enough from Kuo Kuana I summoned a Nevermore to fly on toward not the defensive line but directly towards the horde of Grimm. It only took me 2 hours to find the horde from the air as night surround the sky and land I dived right into the horde causing both a small earthquake and shockwave that sent a large group of Grimm flying near where crash. I drew my katana Kodoku then slashed at the Beowolf nearest me followed by numerous other Grimm till I saw a particularly large Grimm in the center of the horde, it was at least 20 feet tall it a lizard-like Grimm standing on its hind legs. It turned to me then revealed a large fan-like frill around its head, it released a screeching roar that made the other Grimm join it making my ears nearly burst from the intensity.
The next thing that happened was that the large Grimm squinted at me than a black liquid came out of its eyes aimed right at me to which I evaded. When the liquid it the ground a sizzling sound came from it along with some noxious fumes, definitely avoid getting hit with that at all costs. The lizard Grimm didn't stop there it shot out the black liquid from its eye as a steady torrent trying to hit me getting the other Grimm got up in the crossfire roaring from the pain that liquid brought them before fading into black particles. I lead the large Grimm at the smaller Grimm trying to reduce their numbers in hopes of preventing the loss of life from the guards at the defensive line, a King Taijitu the 2 head white and black snake Grimm tried to wrap around me only to fail then get hit with that black ooze and die. So far I have managed to reduce the horde by a third of its original size but this is getting hard with the other Grimm trying to pin me down or better yet tear me to shreds as I draw their attention towards me.
Thankfully this is easier than fighting the Tartarus Grimm, as I fought I made use of some Manticore summons to help thin out the horde. The giant lizard Grimm which I took to calling a Blood Gazer still focused its attacks on me with shooting out that liquid from its eye to biting and clawing at me with a great deal of ferocity. An hour passed by quickly and the Grimm horde of Beowolfs, King Taijitu, and Nevermore was reduced to one-fifth of its original size partially thanks to the Blood Gazer attacking me with reckless abandon getting the rest of the Grimm got up in the crossfire. I decided to stop toying with the Blood Gazer and end since the horde is now small enough I believe to leave to the Kuo Kuana defensive line, I charge at the oversized lizard evading its attacks than with a single thrust with my katana in its head it dissipated into black ash in the wind. Just when I was getting ready to leave I heard some battle cries near me and look to see a group of Kuo Kuana's guard fighting the horde near me. I also saw Ghira in his tall muscular form with black hair, a thick beard and yellow eyes. For his top, he wears an open dark-violet coat, exposing his hairy chest. Over his beige pants is a matching sash that wraps around his waist and is secured with a large, silver metal buckle with a pair of white-tipped black boots. Leading the charge against the horde I fought my way to him through what remained of the horde and when he saw me he asked.
Ghira: Who the heck are you young man and why are you fighting the Grimm by yourself?
While slashing a Beowulf in half I replied back.
Silva: Silva Cloud is the name and can we save the introductions for after the Grimm are dealt with.
He nodded back at me and focused on the task at hand, within an hour the last Grimm was destroyed an everyone looked at me with the same thought shown on their faces. Who in Remnant is this guy?
Fun fact, there is an IRL lizard that shoots blood from its eyes as a defense mechanism.
