Jiang Yingyue had never before encountered such an energetic woman before, and she was at a loss for what to do or say.
She just stood there blankly staring at the mature woman, her eyes wide open and her jaw had dropped.
The ladle in her hand reminded her that she was, in fact, in the middle of cooking dinner, and seeing that this woman had gotten past the bodyguards, she was likely someone familiar with Han Qingshan.
"Please come in." Jiang Yingyue invited her inside, and hurried back to the kitchen to make sure that the food did not burn.
As soon as the woman entered the condo, that usually was rather cold and lifeless, she was greeted by a scent of delicious food, and everything seemed much more homey.
She followed Jiang Yingyue into the kitchen, and her eyes opened wide when she noticed that Jiang Yingyue was cooking a great feast. Drool almost fell from her mouth as she imagined their taste; the scent alone was heavenly.
"Where is Qingshan?" The woman asked while looking around. She had expected to see him in the kitchen, helping her with the cooking, but Jiang Yingyue flashed her most polite smile at the woman and answered readily.
"He is taking a shower. He had a busy day today, and he needs to relax and unwind. I will cook some delicious food in the meantime. I hope you can wait for him to finish. It is not easy for him to get time to himself, so he should loosen his tensed-up muscles."
Hearing the consideration in Jiang Yingyue's voice, the smile on the woman's lips grew larger and larger, and her eyes flashed with happiness.
"I heard you had an accident and that you have been living here since?" the woman asked curiously, and Jiang Yingyue frowned. How was it that this woman seemed to know everything about her, but she didn't even know who this woman was?
Putting down the knife she was using to cut vegetables, Jiang Yingyue turned around and looked at the woman, a bit of hesitation and worry was evident in her eyes.
"You seem to know a lot about me?" she asked, her voice was still polite, but there was a bit of worry within.
"Of course." The woman was straightforward and answered her thoughts. "I am quite interested in my son's life. He is not very good at finding friends, so I am very happy that he has found you."
Hearing that this was Han Qingshan's mother, Jiang Yingyue's eyes widened in shock and then narrowed as she observed the woman from head to toe. She clearly did not look a day over thirty, but Han Qingshan was already in his twenties. It seemed that their genes' ability to maintain their appearances were rather evolved.
Jiang Yingyue felt a little bit of worry in her heart when she realized that this was Han Qingshan's mother. Would she like her? Would she look down upon her?
Realizing that she was worried about something useless, Jiang Yingyue smiled wryly at herself, before she returned to cooking and answered the question his mother had asked before.
"Yes, I have been living here since I had an accident. Han Qingshan was kind enough to take me in so that I do not cause problems for my family in the meanwhile."
The mother snickered, as she wondered whether or not there was a selfish reason behind Han Qingshan's wish to have Jiang Yingyue living with him.
She had personally come today for the sake of seeing this Jiang Yingyue, and to figure out what kind of person she was.
She had heard that Han Qingshan had taken her home with him, and ordered her to live at home with him, and she could not help but be slightly surprised by this.
Han Qingshan was, in the eyes of many, a generous and friendly prince charming, but she knew him well, and knew that he was not actually generous, neither was he friendly deep down.
It was not likely that he would allow for Jiang Yingyue to live in his home purely based on wanting to help him. There had to be something in it for Han Qingshan as well. He wanted something from Jiang Yingyue.
Being a gossiping person, Yan Meilin had instantly dropped her work and rushed over to the condo to get answers, and now that she was here, she could not help but see a newly wedded marriage lifestyle.
Jiang Yingyue was just like an anxious new wife, cooking food and waiting on her husband, while Han Qingshan was the husband who was going to work to provide for her.
The smile on Yan Meilin's face grew increasingly bright as she thought about this. Although Jiang Yingyue was standing in front of her as a man, Yan Meilin lived off measuring people's figures and dressing them up. She had seen any kind of man and woman, and just as Han Liqiang had said, it was obvious that Jiang Yingyue was a woman.
As to why her dense son could not see this, Yan Meilin had no clue, but she knew that he would not have known, or he would not have invited her to live with him. Although he was not old fashioned, asking a woman to move in with him was not something he would have done on an impulse.
