Qiao Hanye and He Lanjin soon reached Jing Garden. He Lanjin sat in the car in silence, replaying the events in her mind.

"I'll be in my room," He Lanjin said quickly. She pushed the car door open and got off the car.

His eyes followed He Lanjin's retreating figure. When he could not see her anymore, his gaze fell on the back of his arms, which have turned black. The highly toxic venom was spreading.

He Lanjin felt uneasy returning to her room. Something was definitely wrong. She walked to Qiao Hanye's room and opened the door without ceremony. Qiao Hanye was just about to take off his clothes when the door opened to reveal He Lanjin. "What's the matter?" Qiao Hanye asked. "It's late. You should be resting."

He Lanjin did not say anything. Instead, she took one of his arms and rolled up his sleeve. "You're poisoned," she said in alarm. "Let's go to the hospital."

"We can't go to the hospital," Qiao Hanye said in a low voice. He was injured and the venom had spread, but he acted normal. He did not seem to be in pain, not even the slightest bit.

He Lanjin hesitated for a moment, but she immediately made up her mind. Taking the fruit knife on Qiao Hanye's bedside table, she slashed at his palm and brought his hand to her lips, sucking out the poison.

"You..." Qiao Hanye protested, but He Lanjin pushed him down on the bed.
