Dongfang Yu got in the car. Mu Ru did not want to be too close to Dongfang Yu, so she sat in the back. She wanted to be a little farther away from him so that she would be out of sight and out of mind.
2Dongfang Yu looked at her from the rear view mirror and chuckled. "Why? Am I that scary? You won't even dare to sit in the front passenger seat anymore."
2Mu Ru stared at him fiercely and scoffed. She said, "Hurry up and just drive. Don't you see that Aunt Gu and your wife are already out of the courtyard?"
2"Aiyo, Sister-in-Law, why are you so fierce?" Dongfang Yu asked unhappily. Then, he stepped on the accelerator, and the car sped out of the courtyard.
2Mu Ru was annoyed. She turned her head away and ignored him. She simply didn't want to see Dongfang Yu.
2Dongfang Yu waited for Mu Ru to say something, but she didn't. It was obvious that she didn't want to talk to him. His heart thumped. Did she hate him that much? He noticed how much she had been avoiding him. Now that they were both in the same car, he found it odd that she would sit in the back seat.
2Dongfang Yu felt uncomfortable as he thought about it. There were so many women who clung to him because they found him attractive. His own wife would pester him whenever he came home late. Mu Ru, however, would simply go to great lengths to avoid him.
2He thought that perhaps it was something all men dealt with. All men would want a flock of women clinging to them because it would boost their ego and confidence. Men wouldn't care whether they felt a deep love for a certain woman or not. All they needed was someone who would constantly feed their ego.
2Although Dongfang Yu and Mu Ru were in-laws, the truth was that they had broken that barrier. Dongfang Yu believed that Mu Ru missed him very much and wanted to be with him in private. After all, that night they slept together, both of them enjoyed themselves, and they found that experience to be incomparably beautiful.
2However, in reality, Mu Ru did not want to see him at all. She did not miss him at all, and nor did she crave for his attention. Dongfang Yu wondered how steadfast Mu Ru was and how virtuous she actually was. He found it frustrating. He realized that she was indeed suitable to be the first young mistress of the Dongfang family.
2Unconsciously, his mouth curled up into a smile. It was commendable that she was able to resist and control her feelings and urges.
2While Mu Ru sat in the back, she had no idea what Dongfang Yu was thinking. She only prayed that they would soon arrive at the temple. She did not want to be in the same car as Dongfang Yu, and she did not want to be near him.
2However, the more anxious she felt, the more trouble they found themselves in. Just as they reached a remote corner at the foot of Wutong Mountain, the car suddenly stopped by the side of the road.
2"What's wrong?" Mu Ru asked when she realized that the car was stopping. "Have we arrived at Dharma Temple?"
2"No," Dongfang Yu muttered a little impatiently. Then, he checked the car and said, "I think we ran out of diesel." Mu Ru was shocked. "What? How could that happen?"
2"How would I know?" Dongfang Yu said impatiently. He took out his phone to make a call. He turned to Mu Ru and said, "This isn't my car. Who knows what's wrong with it? It must be Uncle Liu. He might have forgotten to fill it up. I guess Big Brother hasn't driven this car for a long time."
2"Then what should we do?" Mu Ru asked anxiously. "Don't tell me we have to walk to the Dharma Temple? How far is it from here?"
