An Shaosi did not bat an eyelid as he hung up his phone and put it back into his coat.

When he turned around, he saw Yang Xi staring at him in disdain. "Ruochu was kidnapped by another group of people. Why did you lie to Ning Tang?"

An Shaosi stared at her impassively and said, "Haven't you been scolding the Ning family for being scum? Now that Ruochu is 'dead,' shouldn't the Ning family suffer?"

He knew that Ning Tang would be furious when he found out about Zhang Yuan's role in Gu Ruochu's kidnapping.

When she heard An Shaosi's explanation, Yang Xi was impressed by his manipulative nature.

She rolled her eyes at him and gushed, "You're amazing."

Ning Tang's hand trembled as he hung up the phone. He had ordered his henchmen to carry out an investigation, and they had found out that the people behind Gu Ruochu's kidnapping were Zhang Yuan and Ning Zongxuan.

His wife had wanted to get some information regarding Ning Tangxi's whereabouts, which was why she had agreed to Gu Ruochu's kidnapping.

"Chairman, we just found out that Miss Ning has returned home." Ning Tang's assistant paused for a moment. He knew that the news would be difficult for Ning Tang to bear. However, the boss had to know the truth. "We discovered that Miss Ning went missing on purpose. She wanted to drive a wedge between your wife and Miss Ruochu."

Gu Ruochu's biological mother had agreed to have her kidnapped. The assistant knew that Gu Ruochu would probably never acknowledge her parents again.

Ning Tang was disappointed. He felt that all the progress he had made in his relationship with Gu Ruochu was now useless.

"Get the car ready. I want to go home."

Ning Tang's cold and sinister voice made his assistant tremble.

When he arrived at his family's villa, Ning Tang got out of his car and took a deep breath. He entered the house and saw his wife and two children sitting on the sofa. Ning Tangxi trembled when she saw her father's figure. Ning Zongxuan, on the other hand, was as guilty as sin.

From the look on his father's face, Ning Zongxuan could tell that he had found out about Gu Ruochu's death.

"Father, you're back?"

Immediately after Ning Tangxi opened her mouth, Ning Tang's cold voice rang out, "Ning Tangxi, did you disappear on purpose?"

"Dad, what do you mean by that? Are you accusing me of staging my disappearance?"

Ning Tangxi tried to remain calm, but her father's terrifying gaze made her feel as if she was about to suffocate.

Zhang Yuan was scared by her husband's harsh tone, and she said anxiously, "Hubby, I think you misunderstood. Tangxi just escaped from her kidnappers..."

"Zhang Yuan, shut up!"

Ning Tang was not ready to confront his wife over Gu Ruochu's kidnapping.

He could not believe that his wife had caused the death of their biological child for the sake of her bastard daughter.

Ning Tang suppressed his anger and locked his eyes on Ning Tangxi. "Was it you?"

"No, it wasn't me. Father, I was kidnapped by a gang of criminals..."

"No?" Ning Tang gritted his teeth. "You still dare to deny it? I've already asked my men to investigate. Are you not going to shed tears until you see the coffin?"

Ning Tangxi was petrified. Tears streamed down her face as she sat on the ground and sobbed, "It wasn't me. I was kidnapped..."

Ning Tang's hand had already grabbed her neck. Ning Tangxi's vision turned into a blur. She tried her best to pull her father's hand away, but it was useless.

Ning Tang clenched his teeth as he strengthened his vice-like grip around his daughter's neck.
