Gu Ruochu and Huo Nanchen arrived at the Huo residence and went straight to their bedroom. After washing up and changing into her nightgown, Gu Ruochu got into the bed and fell asleep. When she woke up the next morning, Huo Nanchen had not yet left. His handsome face was exceptionally calm under the morning light.

Gu Ruochu remembered that Huo Nanchen was scheduled to travel to Country M over the next few days. Ning Tangxi had left Cheng Xi alone in Country M, and Huo Nanchen wanted to check on the child's well being.

Since Gu Ruochu did not have a lot of work at the office, she thought that it would be a good idea if she accompanied Huo Nanchen.

"Do you want me to go with you to Country M?" When Huo Nanchen heard Gu Ruochu's question, he paused and looked at her with an obscure gaze.

"What? Don't you want me to come with you?" Gu Ruochu sat on the bed and glanced at him. "Don't tell me that you have something to hide in Country M? I just feel sorry for the child. Don't be too narcissistic."

"I have nothing to hide. You should come with me." After Huo Nanchen finished dressing up, he walked towards Gu Ruochu and pinched her face. His thin lips smiled, and his deep, burning eyes seemed to see through her.

Of course, he wouldn't mind if she accompanied him.

"What are you laughing at?"

Gu Ruochu was embarrassed when she saw Huo Nanchen's expression. His smile was full of endless indulgence and love, which softened her heart. She turned her face away and remained silent.

"Since you've accepted my offer, you should tell your assistant to book me a plane ticket."

"All right. I'll tell him to book it. Of course, my wife should accompany me." Huo Nanchen stroked Gu Ruochu's head and lifted her gently from the bed.

Gu Ruochu's mood improved. She did not want to think about the Ning family. Her trip to Country M would help her relax.

When they went downstairs, Gu Ruochu saw her mother-in-law whispering to Nanny Zhang. When Mrs. Huo saw the couple coming down, a smile appeared on her face. "You're awake? Come and have breakfast."

"Okay."

When they sat down, Mrs. Huo remembered something and said, "Ruochu, Ning Tang just called and said that your mother is fine at the hospital. Don't worry."

Since they were her biological parents, Mrs. Huo had to inform Gu Ruochu about the news.

"I know. I'll go check on her later." Gu Ruochu was no longer worried about her biological parents. She would let nature take its course.

Huo Nanchen booked two tickets to Country M. They would leave the next day. After working on her movie script, Gu Ruochu packed a few clothes. Nanny Zhang also helped her pack her luggage.

Mrs. Huo had a long talk with Huo Nanchen and Gu Ruochu and gave them several instructions to follow once they were in Country M. After all, it would be Gu Ruochu's first trip outside the country.

The following day, the sky was shrouded in a dark cloud. When she noticed the gloomy weather, Gu Ruochu felt inexplicably uneasy.

In the scenic villa, the bright light from the lightning outside flashed through the windows.

Yang Xi quietly curled up in her quilt and looked at her watch. When she heard the door close, she immediately stood up.

She walked towards the window and took a few careful glances. When she saw that there was nobody in the compound below, Yang Xi relaxed.

She wanted to climb out of the window and escape the An family villa.

As Yang Xi opened the window, several raindrops hit her hands. Her heart began to pound. An inexplicable fear surged through her heart. She knew that escaping from An Shaosi's villa was a dangerous endeavor.

Yang Xi nervously climbed out of the window.

Just as she took a few steps down, she slipped and fell to the ground.

After her body landed on the ground with a thud, Yang Xi heard the sound of someone breathing through the window.
