Chương 8: Freezing Sword Sect ch. 7
The tournament of the branch sects was a tournament where all the disciples, at the age of 12 and 13, would fight each other. This event took place every 2 years, and this year it was time again for the tournament.
The tournament was very important because it decided the popularity of the branch sects. If the branch sect wasn't able to impress people with their disciples in the tournament, then they wouldn't get many disciples in the next year.
And if they got less disciples, the chances of getting talented disciples decreased too. So getting last place was basically like a death sentence that was hard to recover from. With less disciples it would get harder to win the next tournament. A chain of losses easily followed, which made everyone look down on the branch sect.
This is what happened to the battle Palm Sect. Since Alex joined the Battle Palm Sect only 2 others joined in all those years. If this continued the death of the sect would be unavoidable. Because the battle Palm Sect had not many disciples no one besides Alex fitted inside the age Range for the tournament.
The future of the Battle Palm Sect rested in Alex his hands and he trained even harder then before. He had to deeply impress people in this tournament only that way would he be able to save the dying battle Palm Sect. His goal was to get first place, if he managed to reach first place then his sect would get better for sure and more people would want to train in the battle Palm Sect again.
He trained together with Lucky, it wasn't forbidden to fight together with your spiritual partner in the tournament. That meant that Lucky would play a huge role in the upcoming tournament. But still Alex didn't want to depend on Lucky to much, if possible he wanted to win with his own strength.
Alex and Lucky kept training daily and the day of the tournament came closer. And Alex, Lucky and his master traveled together to the tournament. I was always be held at the sect that won the prebious tournament.
The last winner of the tournament was the Freezing Sword Sect. The fighting style of the Freezing Sword Sect was very vicious, their Freezing Sword Technique made it impossible for enemies to heal wounds that were created with that technique. And the wounds would have left over ice energy inside them that constantly attacked the wounded person. Once wounded by that technique it would be very difficult to still win the fight.
Alex knew all of that of course, he was very well prepared and informed himself about the powers and strategies of the enemy sects. The Freezing sword sect was very far away from the battle Palm Sect and Alex and his master had to travel for 3 days. But they finally reached the Freezing Sword Sect.
