Chương 1: The Abandoned Noble

I was abandoned when I was 7 my name is Alexander Grotto but because of my father tell people just to call me Ace. My father Gabriel Grotto is a duke under king Daphne he's a fat lazy man I never knew who my mother was she died after she gave birth to me. Three days ago my father told me to join his top knight on a hunting quest. when we go to what I expected to be hunting grounds the knight said your father has denounced you as a son and he was under orders to kill me. He said that he knew my mother since they were kids so in honor of her memory he wouldn't kill me he handed me a knife and left. I've been wandering the woods ever since as I was wandering the woods I came across a cave it had a very eerie but somewhat welcoming feeling. A deep voice echoed from the cave "I smell a noble I hate nobles they're greedy they only care for themselves".A loud boom came from the cave and at the mouth of the cave appeared an old man. You're nothing more than a child I told what the knight had told me about my father. The old man told me to follow him up to the mountain range I couldn't see it from here but as we got closer the trees pulled away leading into a large field. up ahead was a rock path leading up through the mountain range a massive river leaving from the mountain and gets smaller leading into the forest. Why are we going into the mountains I asked the old man he didn't respond all he did was grunt every few minutes. As the mountain got steeper the old man stopped he pulled out a pipe at put what looked like tobacco but greener and continued forward I have no clue how he lit what he put in there he must fire magic I said under my breath. The old man looked back at me as I said that letting out a chuckle it was getting colder the higher we got but after four or five minutes the air gets wet and hot were here said the old man when I got to the ridge up ahead in front of me I saw a massive hot spring. I could sense this was no ordinary hot spring cause every few seconds a bunch of small blue lights we jump across the water and fade away. That old man didn't waste any time getting and when he got he wasn't an old man anymore he was a gigantic dragon he had dark purple scales and bright red eyes. Aren't you getting in he asked his voice was loud like it was coming from the cave? I took off my clothes and got in as soon as I did the blue lights surrounded me covering me after few seconds they turned bright purple and dissolved into my skin next thing I know I woke up in the cave. I smelled food "ahh so you're awake," the old man said smoking his pipe what he blew out was stinky. what happened I asked him you passed out in hot spring after the whisps awakened your magic power. Magic I whispered I thought magic was rare for someone to have especially a male. True said the old man normally women have magic they are either branded as a mage or a witch the old man continued to explain that only a few men ever get magic he told me the whisps in the hot spring grant magic to those they deem worthy he also said the extinct race of elves flourished with magic until the demon lords forces invaded and slaughtered them. As the night came today the old kept talking about the seven elements of nature Earth, Water, Wind, Fire, light, and darkness he said that humans can have only one type of magic. The old man stopped talking and was quiet for a while till he stood up and said its time to eat. I looked down at the bowl placed it smelled delicious but looked disgusting "its rabbit stew" said the old man. I was reluctant to try it as I took the first bite flavor exploded in my mouth it was really good it was the best thing I've ever eaten.
