"Director, you do know that we have our own company web page, right?" Yun Xixi meekly said and October nodded in acknowledgement. "I have been using it since I started working here under you. Being your secretary was the most happiest thing that happened to me. With this, I want to boast about it to everyone else and so, I took pictures and posted it on the web page on my account."
"Yeah, it can be used like that too. But why are you telling me this?" October asked.
"Well, I post some pictures." Yun Xixi replied as she clasped her cold hands together. Hearing this, October raised her brow for a moment then down. October wondered what does this have to do with her.
"I...I posted pictures of you on the company page which I took secretly. I just can't help it, Director. You are a person that many have been admiring. They have always wanted to know you more but can't have the guts to talk to you and so they were so happy to see what you would be like during work. They, no, we are all admiring you, Director." Yun Xixi declared with a firm tone on her melodious voice as she looked at her boss' expressionless face yet still captivating. She has to make her point. But because of this, she might most probably get herself fired from this. Even with this, she still told her boss the truth than making her boss hate her more for lying to her.
October felt her lips twitch again for a moment. This was not an answer she had most expected. A stolen picture of herself posted on the company's page? And the one who took it and posted it is her secretary? And what, they admired her? Why? She was cold and does not show much expression so how come they admire her? What do they admire her? Such questions were running around October's head.
October remembered how the employees acted to stiffly whenever they were in her presence or when she was just passing by. There even a time when someone runaway from her when she noticed that she was there. Was that admiring? Really, October was so flabbergasted at this. At this, she suddenly remembered something very crucial.
"Was that light before...a flash from your camera?" October slowly asked Yun Xixi with her face darkening little by little. If there was no flash a while ago, she might still be oblivious from this.
Yes, that was...my flash was on when I secretly took a picture of you while eating." Yun Xixi admitted it immediately. This was it. From the dark look that her boss was giving her, she knew was really going to get fired.
How long have you been posting my p-pictures?" October doesn't really wanna know but she has to. Just thinking about what kind of pictures her secretary took and posted online was what really worried her so much. Were there any embarrassing pictures she had that have been posted? She knew she was so stoic, so expression. With that in mind, she was pretty sure that she does not look good on any of the pictures. Who would want to look at a woman without any emotions of expressions? No one, right?
"Well, since I started using the account. More like since I started working as your secretary, Director." Yun Xixi felt like her strength were all drained. She ducked her head, unable to face her boss any longer. She was also ashamed of what she did behind her boss' back. It was really so unbecoming of her.
"Mm." October placed a hand on her chin as she tried to sink it in. She looked at her secretary who just flinched on her seat and then opened her mouth to say, "What's done is done. I can't do anything about it now." She can't delete the pictures that have already been posted for a long time.
Hearing this, Yun Xixi slowly raised her head to look at the calm woman sitting in front of her.
"However, I don't want you to steal anymore of my pictures." October said while reaching out her hand to grab her glass of wine but stopped abruptly when she remembered her situation. Unconsciously, she dropped her hand and touched her flat belly instead.
Seeing such actions made Yun Xixi puzzled at her boss' peculiar actions. Was she trying to avoid alcohol now? Was she checking up on her diet? But the real problem now was that she will not be able to take pictures of her boss now. It was disheartening but she can't do anything about it now that she got herself exposed.
"If you want to take pictures, just tell me so that I won't let myself be caught unprepared." October said to Yun Xixi who was now starting to glow and smile so dazzlingly. Her eyes were even almost shooting out stars from them. Was she being rush about this? Will she regret this?
"Is that okay from you, Director?" Yun Xixi asked with a hopeful face and excited voice. She can't help herself from getting so hyped about this.
"Just that I can't smile so I won't guarantee that the picture you'll take will come out good." This was what also worries October. No matter how she think about it, there's no picture of her that she was smiling, aside from the few pictures she had when her mother was still alive. After her mother's death, she was not able to smile anymore. She can't even give her grandfather a smile, much less smile on a picture.
Yun Xixi grinned from ear to ear. This was really the most unexpected thing that happened today. However, it was a good thing. "No, Director. You being just yourself is already really beautiful. Your expressionless self was already enough to sooth us normal people. Just seeing you was enough to stir our hearts." She said with a voice full of adoration.
October was rather speechless at this statement from Yun Xixi. With this, she doesn't really know of what she'll do to her quirky secretary.
"So does that mean that you won't fire me, Director?" Yun Xixi asked with hopeful eyes.
October blinked her eyes as she wondered how her secretary came up with such ridiculous conclusion. "No, you're not."
With that being already settled, the both of them finished eating their meal and continued in resuming their work. As the work was almost ending, October got a call from an unknown number. Still being as unconcerned as ever, she answered it in a flat tone, "Hello."
"My, daughter. Why so grumpy?" Said the person on the other end with a giggle.
"Stop calling me that. You are not my mother, Fu Yung." October indifferently said as she crossed her legs. She wondered what this woman want from her now.
"My, my. Are you feeling angry right now?" Fu Yung teased. "But you don't have such feelings."
"If you don't have anything else to say, I'll end the call now." October said as she closed her tired eyes. She really wants to sleep.
"Wait. Don't be like that. I want to remind you about your brother's birthday. It will be on Thursday. We are expecting you to attend the party, as the eldest daughter of the Park family. If you don't want to acknowledge me, at least acknowledge your brother." Fu Yung said in her usual lax yet sexy voice.
October opened her eyes and looked at the drawer where she placed the invitation letter and abruptly ended the call.
