Wraith slipped and skidded from his shower to his front door. He paused for a moment before answering and made sure his towel was around him and the soap was out of his eyes. He wanted to be ready for when he shouted at the person who had been hammering on his door for the last 5 minutes.
Mr Jinx's eyes grew big as he saw Wraith stood in the doorway. He simply said. "She's gone missing. Iva's missing. I've been phoning her for the last 2 days." He gave a shrug of his shoulders. "Wraith she's missing, which means she's in trouble."
Iva Dunraven lived where most occult detectives lived. In an out of the way back street that you would never know was there. Her bungalow was at the far end of a street hidden behind several willow trees.
Wraith and Mr Jinx walked up to her front door while Hex jumped the fence and raced around the back of the bungalow. He gave a sniff; the back door and windows were all spellbound with a rather nasty razor flash spell. Meaning, if you tried to break in the spell will slash you with a dose of nightmare emotions that would send you screaming down the street. All occult detectives had their homes rigged with spells.
You never knew who might come knocking while you were away.
Hex spoke into his new two-way collar phone. "Door and windows are rigged hard with razor flash spells Boss."
"Understood. Just stay where you are for now Hex." Wraith looked at Mr Jinx. "Are you ready to start breaking into a house that's probably going to send us all mad?"
Mr Jinx gave a slow smile. "You might be eternal boy but look and learn." With that Mr Jinx cracked his knuckles and began his own Hoodoo spell.
Mrs Rose lived three doors up from the young lady who called herself Iva. She thought she heard a man scream out. She glanced through her net curtains but saw nothing. She gave a tut and thought 'I must be going crazy'.
Wraith fell into the hallway and groaned. "I thought you said look and learn." He rolled to his side and groaned again. "Feels like you set every damn razor flash spell off and they all hit me."
Mr Jinx picked Wraith up and aplogised. "I'm sorry my friend, I guess I'm getting old."
"Old." Wraith scoffed. "Jesus Christ, do you know what a razor flash spell feels like. It's like every nightmare you've ever had all hitting you at once in HD surround sound. I won't sleep for a week now."
Hex trotted passed Wraith and said. "Oh, grow up. If it was that bad, you'd be insane right now. Now come on, let's find Iva."
The search didn't take long. Stuck on her fridge with a Betty Boo magnet was a hand written note saying.
