The brothers had tried to talk to their father the night before, but he said he was busy and would listen to them later. The day of the engagement party arrived, yuri with headache again decided to have breakfast in his room. After the maid brought him the coffee tray, he heard a faint knocking on his door. He got out of bed and went to open it. In front of it was a very worried Lady Emilia. Seeing that yuri opened the door she ran and hugged yuri crying.
"Emilia, what happened?" he said as he closed the door and tried to calm the girl.
"Yuri nothing is working" she said crying "Alan still could not talk to your father, Aurus called him to accompany you to deal with a subject and I can not get that bad feeling away from me."
"Easy, easy" said yuri as he walked her to the bed and sat with her - Alan is powerful enough and about my father you need not worry because I will not let this marriage happen even if I am disinherited from the family."
"But what if Alan and I can't stay together anyway?" Emilia asked worriedly, after all aurus wouldn't allow her and Alan to marry.
"Then you run away with me," said yuri, moving away from Emilia and looking into her eyes. "Let's go to my mate's town. His mother raelin will surely help you guys until you can handle yourselfs, you could even come to the Academy with me."
"Oh really?" Emilia said smiling
"Yes" said yuri and laughed when Emilia's stomach protested "now let's eat and after that go back to your room. Staying in mine can cause more difficulties to undo this engagement."
They both ate and talked until Emilia left for her room a little bit happier.

The afternoon passed and the night came at a desperate speed. Yuri had not been able to see his father and Alan, while standing next to aurus, could not speak to him privately. Yuri even considered talking to Emilia's parents, but they were not in the mansion yet, because of a problem that happened in one of their clinics. Yuri tried not to talk to Victor, but seeing the possibility that things didn't go so well asked if his mate could come to his house tonight and passed the address as a picture of the place, knowing that Victor could teleport. Victor answered as soon as he would go and told yuri that he loved him. Yuri couldn't answer because a maid had arrived in his room with his evening suit, he sighed and started to get ready.
It was 7:30 pm, Yuri was ready in the ballroom with his brother and mother, both of them with worried faces, and his mother had come to ask if everything was all right. For the first time yuri did not lie and replied that he was not but it would be. Hearing her son response made her even more worried. Alan had talked privately with his brother about his conversation with Emilia. Yuri confirmed that he was serious, intent on pursuing this plan if his father did not listen, and when he heard that Alan calmed down a little. 'We'll do it together', his brother had whispered, shaking his hand.
The ball started at 8:30 pm, as they waited for the guests to arrive. Yuri was looking for Victor between the guests but couldn't find him. Meanwhile Alan kept trying to talk to his tired father who had scolded Alan for the behavior he was presenting at his brother's engagement party. Alan had been sad and angry that his father had scolded him in front of several people just because he was asking him a moment to talk to himself. Arrived 9 pm and aurus asked for silence to make the speech for the soon to be groom and bride. After the speech he read the agreement (yes they had a written agreement for it) and was going to sign it. Yuri saw his brother helpless, saw Emilia crying and knowing that Victor was close even though he had not arrived yet, he(yuri) decided to put an end to this farce.
"Stop it now," Yuri shouted, looking down at the paper Emilia's father was going to sign while it burned and disappeared. Everyone was shocked, after all, magic without enchantment was ancient and powerful, no wizard today could do it so easily.
"Yuri what's the mean...." started to say aurus but he was interrupted when yuri waved his hand towards him leaving him speechless(like a spell to take one voice from him).
"No, Father, it's my turn to speak and you listen," he said loudly without shouting. "Don't you realize what you're doing? I don't want to marry Emilia and she doesn't want to marry me, but this is not about me since you have never valued me. This is about your son Alan. You are forcing a marriage between me and your precious son MATE. You are destroying my brother's FUTURE because of your greed. And I won't allow you to do that. You have done enough to destroy me, I will not let you do that to my brother either."
The guests stared in shock at the scene in front of them. They always thought the Heverest family was an exemplary family model but now they saw that it was all illusion. . Meanwhile yuri continued.
"Isn't it enough that you took everything I needed in my life? My mother's love, my brother's company, friends, a family that cares about me and now will you make me see my brother being destroyed by this wedding shit?" Aurus looked at Yuri angry at the interruption of an important agreement, for him Yuri was no longer his son, he gives a sing to the guards to capture him. But he didn't expect that Yuri have some fighting skills and was amazed to see his son easily defeat the elite security guards. "And you?" continued yuri as if nothing had happened, pointing to Emilia's parents "Didn't you see that your daughter was unhappy? Didn't you hear her begging not to marry me? Didn't she try to tell you that she loved another? Would you really slay your daughter's happiness like that?" he asked a series of questions to the Hestings.
Of course the Hastings had realized that their daughter loved the older brother, but what could they do? Aurus heverest was powerful, if they did not accept the agreement he feared what might happen to his family's future. As much as he didn't want to see his daughter unhappy, her father remained acting like he agreed with the marriage in the hope that they could later divorce amicably.
"I'm sick of it," yuri continued as tears streamed down his cheeks. "I'm tired of the games, the frames, the deals. Enough! LET'S END THIS !!" he shouted when he felt something sting his arm and become unconscious. One of the aurus security guards had managed to throw a tranquilizer at yuri. Aurus was able to speak again when Yuri fell to the floor without moving. He was going to apologize to the guests, and dropped his guard, thinking he had one, but the guards who began to approach to catch yuri began to fall to the ground. Looking to see what was going on aurus saw something that made him scared.
Yuri's shadow began to spread around him as it had years before. It killed those who got close. But today was different seeing that yuri was in danger, by being unconscious, its power had manifested with full force. The black shadow grew and spread, catching yuri and shielding him in a dark cocoon that was trapped between the ceiling and floor of the ballroom. The guards shoot at it but had no effect. After the cocoon formed, a wheel (the ones like fortune-telling or rolet-prize spinning in games) appeared in front of the cocoon, it was red and black, had thorns around it and chains that held it. Seeing the wheel, Yuri's mother paled. <Not!! He can't afford it yet !! Please mom and dad arrive quickly.> Shee was praying, when she saw an accountant appear up on the wheel. The counter started in 30 min and decreased every second.
In the chaos that followed the guests ran trying to escape the black mist and shouted toward the door. Alan told Emilia to hide in the garden maze as he walked to the cocoon to see if he could save his brother. His mother Helen followed him to also try to save her son. When suddenly they heard a voice full of anger ask.
"What happened here?"Alan, Helen, Aurus turned to the silvery-haired young man with the bright(almost like light up with anger) blue eyes who watched the scene carefully. "Where is my mate?"
