The section leaders had already memorized the "dance" that they were going to teach the new students. They did it every year and would continue to do it for generations at the school. She tried to keep the explanations simple. Parallel arms, point the toes, extend the leg, chest out, head up, were all phrases she kept repeating to the freshman as she walked down the rows of the miniature block. The speakers crackled a song that was unknown to the fish in the group, but was well known to the upper classmen. The song stopped and started again with buzzing sounds in between. This didn't phase the flute section leader but it did distract the individuals she was trying to teach. She could tell their arms were tired because of how they shook. It's only been two minutes and they were already about to give out. Her last command to bring their arms back to a T-pose was interrupted by a drum major.
"Back in block formation!"
She turned and started jogging to her spot, the freshman having some commonsense of what they were expected to do.
"Since the speakers still aren't working we can begin warm ups!"
They started with arm and leg stretches then full body stretching. After, they proceeded to sit on the floor and do sit ups and planks in intervals of 30 seconds. People complained about the hard cement their elbows were pressed against, but delt with it all the same. Then they got up and started jogging in place. That's when a certain girl with a puppy jogged onto the field, followed by a director climbing up the tower.
